This is one of the best adjustable/incline/FID Benches I've ever used. The Prime Adjustable Bench has a ton of features from curl pads to decline pad option.
There are a lot of competitors for adjustable benches, however. The Rogue AB-3 Adjustable Bench is a beast and well-proven going back to the Nebula days. The Rep AB-5000 Zero Gap is one of the best value adjustable benches available.

Trying a bit more casual video style. What do you think? Do you prefer this style or sit down interview review videos?
Also, many more Garage Gym Tour Videos coming!
This is great! More entertaining and probably takes less time for you
I like it man, keep up the good work!
@@emmkay741 Thank you for the kind words and ideas. Trying to improve day by day. You rock!
Casual is fine style of video. I really like it when you demo different applications of the gear and be really detailed. If I'm gonna drop $675 on a bench, I wanna know everything. BTW are you able to Review any ATX/Barbarian Line gear? At least here in Aus they seem to have the best balance of Moderate price but over deliver on features.
Like it👍
I'm glad you revealed the price upfront. It saved me another 13 minutes of watching this. No way I'd pay that much for a bench unless I could drive it to work
Agreed!!! Not all of us have his bank account!!!
Same! Once I heard $675. I was like ✌🏻
Adjustable benches in general are just way overpriced, IMO. I’ve never liked using an adjustable bench for actual bench press so it does truly become a luxury where I would always want my fixed flat bench...and an adjustable.
Lol
Lmfao.
That pad for curls is ingenious. I wish my gym had a bench like that. Same with the bench to rack connector. Id wager a lot of us squander cable exercises for lack of exposure to a nice bench to help us broaden our workouts. Good review, Coupe.
Still the best bench on the market today?
I haven’t seen your other videos, but I really like this informal style and the active way you conveyed the information. Thanks for the review.
Update6 months and I'm still loving this bench. czcams.com/users/postUgkxo_64lVTGMk7y4aXTPxPOcQ3YTLyQ6kYV I use it almost daily. I've gotten used to the small wobble and it's no problem at all. Love the storage, it folds right next to my weight set in the garage and hardly takes any space. I wish the covering material was a little bit tougher. I have a feeling that in a couple years it'll tear, but the bench is very well priced that I would just buy a new one.3 month usage review. Awesome bench for someone looking for compactness and storage. I did have to drill a couple holes to adjust my preferred seating position and leg bar position but that's only due to my personal preference. It's very sturdy for normal workouts, but for anyone going above 100# dumbbell press it wobbles ever so slightly. I would probably go with a fixed bench if that's the case. That being said i can accomplish 99% of my normal gym workout with this setup. Very happy with the purchase.
I’m 5’8” 165lbs and this bench is amazing. It’s a solid bench and perfectly sized. It doesn’t make me feel tiny like the larger benches. If you are 6’ or shorter, I highly recommend it. Very sturdy and high quality.
No script necessary Coop. Just keep it honest and raw and your awesome personality will always beat any script.. like the Snap you do to conclude your videos.. you were the first one I seen do that and since then I've caught others trying to emulate.. just keep it real and be YOU and everything else will fall into place. 1# above all, I respect how you always give YOUR HONEST OPINION, no matter what.
Love your videos. When can you do a one recommending the best functional trainer for a home gym😃
Yes please do!
Casual, but in-depth as well. I enjoy the demonstration of functionality and various views of the construction. And as stated in another comment, I have no need or intention of purchasing this particular bench, but found myself focused on every second of the video. Great review again!
Thanks Scott!
Great channel you’ve save me probably thousands on equipment. Thanks for what you do...
Great review Coop!
The amount of hate here is just ridiculous at times. The guy is passionate about this stuff and yes, he may get some of this stuff for free but did anyone ever think about how much work it took for him to get here? I know if anyone in these comments including myself start a channel today, we won't get jack for free. It takes hard work, dedication and commitment. I love his reviews and his impartial feedback on things. This video wasn't for the most affordable adjustable bench, it was for what he thinks to be the best...
I ended up buying this as literally everything else was sold out during the covid19 pandemic, and I must say, it’s a strange order process, and yes it is expensive but it’s freaking nice! Feels super solid on incline, flat, and decline. “Buy once, Cry once” but honestly I’ve never felt so comfortable benching heavy with an adjustable bench as I have with this one. 100% recommend!
Matt Moran is it zero gap like the rep fitness ab 5000?
This style of video is great! Thank you!💪
Digging the montages.
Glad you like them. Trying something different.
Sweet bench indeed. Thanks coop
I have the rep fitness one, doesn’t decline but other then that it’s very solid and reasonably priced. I bought it for 239$ a year ago.
Perfect timing. I was really looking at getting the Rep Fitness 3000. Good price with good reviews. I would get the Rogue bench with leg attachment, but $1200... I just purchased a Rogue squat rack for that price, the bench shouldn't be that expensive.
@DH Did you buy Rep 3000? If so, how has it held up?
@@2006mrderrickh No. I caved and bought the Rogue AB-3. We were gearing up to move out of state recently and ended up selling everything. That fell through so I currently have the Rogue adjustable 3.0 on order. I have the GHD so I can do incline sit ups like I was doing on the AB-3.
@@Beerzy Ok awesome. Yeah that's a big price difference. I already have a flat bench and I just want a bench that inclines/declines and that is sturdy.
Love the content coop!!!!
Thanks brother!
Great video. Much appreciated. If it was not for the wait time, I would buy one today. Btw, I enjoyed this style of video too 👊🏻
Hopefully they take your advice for the bench centering device and making it work for other racks. I really like this bench and it would be nice to be able to use that feature on a Rogue rack.
Love your channel brother
Stopped watching once I Hurd $675
Have you reviewed the IronMaster bench? I love mine and it is super versatile for a home gym
I haven't. I'd like to though.
After watching this review in the future I'm going to buy this bench.
Ho coop, its a shame you have never reviewed the ironmaster super bench, for me that's the best bench I've used and seen in the uk. Small foot print genius design on the detachable seat, true decline with leg attachment to hold you from sliding, plus other attachments. Anyway keep up the good content like yourself I love gym equipment.
Agreed! it’s a great bench, especially with the newer one that’s 17.2 inches tall.
Man that rack bench combo is sweet.
The only problem is it’s not in a lot of people’s budget.
Hey Coop! Those side pads could be attached and you could basically do like a Floor press (bench press) from the bench instead of on the ground. Put the pads where your elbows would come down too
I have a Prime Fitness adjustable bench, which is a pretty good bench - though it is narrow, a bit soft and the upholstery tears easily. Nonetheless, I went ahead and bought the elbow pads (~$250 shipped) and, more recently, the decline attachment (~$175 shipped). The elbow attachments fit poorly. On one side of the bench they are flush and on the other, there is a gap between the pad and the bench. There is a ton of slop where the pads attach to the bench on both sides, which results in a lot of movement both front-to-back and side-to-side. Despite the poor fit, however, the elbow pads do work as expected. The decline attachment does not. Not only does it fit poorly and with a ton of slop just like the elbow pads, but the lack of an angle on the foot roller means that your feet have to fit just right at the foot roller or you slide right down the bench. Both myself at 6' and my wife at 5'6" have legs that are too long to fit the attachment. We both slide right down until our feet catch the foot roller, which puts the behind-the-knee roller uncomfortably behind the calves. This makes the decline attachment completely useless for all but the shortest users. I contacted Prime about the issue, but got nowhere. They simply said I could send it back at my own expense, which would leave me $50 out-of-pocket for absolutely nothing. Prime should pull these from the market and redesign them or make a notation on their page that the decline attachment is only suitable for those with a very short tibia. Moreover, they should refund in full everyone that purchased these without being told they won't fit most users.
So glad I read your comment because everything you comment on, I was wondering about. This COULD be a really good bench but I feel like it's all fluff. I have some of Prime's attachments and I love their machinery but this bench just seems like a missed opportunity. I hope they read feedback from users and make a better version of this in the future, or a company like Rep makes their own version of this. I love the Prime leg roller has the handle (Rep's doesn't). I love the elbow attachments but like you said - I wondered how secure they fit.
@@AJGorby-mw6ci for flat and incline, I still like it (although a 12" option with genuinely commercial upholstery [like we see on Cybex, Star Trac, Body Masters, etc.] would be nice). As above though, the big misses are the poorly executed attachments. This is kind of major considering the decline attachment is one of the main reasons anyone would consider this bench. After all, if you're only getting flat/incline, there are a lot more great benches to choose from.
glad I caught this. I was hoping to replace my life fitness commercial adjustable bench and hoist dedicated decline/ab bench, in an attempt to save space. I guess ill stick with what i have lol
Coop have you ever done tour of your new garage gym? I can't remember seeing the tour since you've last renovated
Not yet, planning on it soon!
Yo Coop-what's your _Second Best_ adjustable bench? IDK if I'm a fan of this one given your cons. I'm wondering if there is another one that has a better balance of pros/cons for a different home gym user. Do you know of one that can do a short back support for overhead tricep lifts (with dumbbells), and with better padding than this one here? Thanks man.
Has nobody pointed out that the title of the video is incorrect? The title says that this is supposed to be a review of a Rogue AB-3 bench, but the video is a review of a Prime bench.
Very informative video. Not too over the top. Some critiquing and recomendations to the manufacturer who I hope listened as I am in the market for an adjustable bench. Thanks Coop.
Thanks. Just ordered. One more month and I’ll have the plate loaded HLP Prodigy. Going with their trap bar in the morning too.
Dont mean to bother you, but how do you like it/how has it held up? Thinking about ordering one today since the rogue adjustables seem like they wont be in stock for a while same deal with the Rep adjustables. Will mostly be for dumbbell work with the occasional incline bench press.
redrider132001 no complaints with it. I’d forgo the arm pad option, and maybe even the foot attachment. The pads are low enough to engage too much hip flexor when doing sit-ups. My one knock is that compared to the Legend Fitness bench I have on the way, the pad looks a bit thin. I think the three way bench from Legend is a bit cheaper and you can customize the colors at no extra cost. I went with their darkest gray for the frame, Candy Apple red padding.
Very similar to floor press. You can utilize that side arm pieces on the bench for strict dumbbell bench press💪🏿
Hey Coop, have you ever reviewed any "all-in-one" gyms like the Force USA Monster series?
Unless you're just starting out or don't plan on going up in weight, I wouldn't recommend cheaping out on a bench (like something under $100)
You don't want it to snap and have you decapitated when you're hitting 2 plates incline.
Spotter bars bruh
I cheap bench collapsing on me caused spinal disc injury so I totally agree
Thanks for the great review. Around 9:15 I thought you were alluding to doing barbell bench work with the lock in function, but there was no footage of it unless I missed it. Is it safe to say that the bench goes far enough back while still being locked in for heavy incline, flat, or decline barbell bench using J cups? Also, I love the shirt! Thank you again.
Finally found out those attachments are for doing floor press without having to lay on the floor
Back before the stache 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Im thinking about working out while the hurricane (Dorian) is in Florida , so you can add 1 more reason on why are Garage gyms are better than commercial gyms .
Don't worry I'm a big boy , the hurricane won't blow me away like Mary Poppins
My first thought while watching this was that your production skills have improved immensely. Thumbs up!
I purchased this bench and I would love to purchase that lock-in crossmember for my Sorinex rack.
YOOOO those fighting sioux shorts are sick...
I've been binging your channel from the start. This review was amazing! I really like that rack, though not sure if the pull up bar is tall enough for me. The bench looks really tall so would probably fit someone like me who is 6'4.
So what makes you prefer this one over the zero gap FID from Rep for $175 less? Based on your reviews of both I'd probably go with that over the Prime one simply because I don't think the small weight disparity and those gimmicky arm pads would make up for the price difference--- especially if the padding is too soft.
For the value, the REP AB-5000 is better. No question. Review coming on that. However, I like the lightness of the Prime along with some of the features like bench docking, wings, and the overall quality is better. That said, for the majority of people, we'd recommend Reps. That's an incredible bench.
Hi Coop: Have you ever heard of, or worked out on fitness equipment made by Larry Sullivan of Excalibur Fitness? Larry Sullivan is the only person in the United States, or the World, that makes 304 High Polish Stainless Steel Fitness Equipment. His fitness equipment does not peel, chip, or rust. 304 does scratch, but you can re-polish the stainless steel to a mirror finish, and remove the scratches. Larry Sullivan also makes custom made fitness equipment to your specifications. He also fabricates stainless steel gates, and balconies. Larry Sullivan worked as a foreman, for Icarian Equipment during their early years.
I have this bench and I use it religiously. It can handle heavy weights and can easily move say outside for dumbbells. You can’t go wrong with it.
Hey Coop, great product and another great review. Any gap issues? I'm just not a huge fan of a noticeable gap, particularly with dumbell presses. Also, can you easily do a dumbell decline press? I'm accustomed to the adjustable bench declining rather than the seat to do decline work. Lastly, I would appreciate your review of the Prime accessories like the 4N1 and the RO-T8 handles. Why? You're just a trustworthy guy. Thank you!
Coop can you please do a review on the T bar row machine from Titan fitness.
Can you do a review on the bells of steel commercial 3.0 fid bench vs the rep fitness fid bench? Those 2 are the best commercial grade budget benches that have Decline along with flat and incline.
The FID w best bang for buck
Rep Fitness !!!
Yep the Rep Fitness is great, it is the one I bought, just had the hardest time connecting the seat attachment bracket to the bottom of the seat - wish they would have made the screw placements at different spots...hopefully they improve this design flaw on the new models...
Really nice bench. I have the Titan MAX adjustable and love it. This looks like it has more quality touches but the 449.00 at Titan was already a stretch for me. This is definitely a nice bench though. Decline variation angles on both of these benches crazy.
Stopped reading at Titan
The thing I like more is that it has enough space down so chest supported barbell rows can be executed, about that weird pads....I imagine myself lying face to the floor doing double supported heavy kickbacks, something I already do with the help of a scott attachement
The side attachments would be great for replicating a DB floor press! It’s a pain in the butt trying to get the dumbbells up when you’re on the floor with them.
I like your new videos style. Add some fonts on the screen (e.g. measurements)...a URl for the brand website....
1. Which is better, rogue 3.0 or Prime Adjusible bench.
Which you recommend buying more?
2. Does the Prime Adjustible Bench) have a little shake/rattle? ( compare to the rogue which doesnt shake at all or the Rep5000 which does shake/rattle)
Thanks
I would need to test it out but I’m pretty sure you can use those pads for floor press too. Floor press without having to fight with the dumbbells on the floor.
Those bicep pads use for bench for a floor press with leg drive. Half bench racks with floor press pads are a whole separate piece to have in the garage. Great idea actually.
When I was broke I used a cooler as a bench.
Was it a Yeti Cooler because if it was, that is probably why you were broke. lol
BeerScout Was it filled with ice and beer (for stability). Cheers on being innovative.
For fuck sakes.....GENIUS!!!
That's exactly what my husband is doing now at home. We have two coolers. We took some eggshell foam mattressing we had but weren't using and cut it to size. It looks like a single size bed. He bench pressess on it and he says it's comfortable.
I did that too. It ended up collapsing and the bar landed right on top of me. Ouch. So be careful!
I should probably mention I used a soft-sided cooler. Live and learn.
Great vid...
Hey Coop, Iove the product buying guide but wondering if you can provide info to help us be better informed consumers. Not just which bench or barbell is best for the price but what makes a bench a quality bench vs garbage. What features and specs make a barbell better than another, etc? Thanks for all the content!
One thing you should add that I looked at when buying a bench was load capacity
7:00 you could do a floor press with the attachment without being on the floor.
Good review. I’d like to know more about those Sorinex adjustable benches. If you decide to let one go give me a shout I’m only 30 min away.
I think Prime has some great ideas, but the lack of transparency on the website is going to turn off garage gym owners. Even Sorinex started listing their prices and has a much more user friendly site.
Coop you didn’t tell us if it was beefy or not, now I’ll never know!
THIS THING IS BEEEEEEFY
The best!! 💪😉👏👏👏
Coop would you say the Prime Fitness Bench is better than ROGUE’s AB-2? Is the stability of the PF Bench better or worse than AB-2?
Thinking about getting the prodigy rack. Coop, plate loaded or selectorized? Are you going to make a video on the selectorized version? I like the casual style video much better.
I'd probably suggest the plate loaded version. It's just a much better value.
@GarageGymReviews Have you ever tried Ironmaster's Super Bench? If so what are your thoughts on it?
I have one too and really like it. It seems better than the bench reviewed and less expensive.
@@brianpetro391 Does it stand too tall?
Matt34677 the top of the pad is 20.5 inches. I am 5’ 8” and it is the perfect height for me to get leg drive. It does seem to stand taller than some other benches I’ve used but I like it.
Could you recommend a lat pulldown machine for a tall person that’s affordable? Maybe a plate loaded one? Thanks !
Hey Coop, what handles are you using there on the cable machine? Do those come stock with the machine or did you source them elsewhere? I LOVE the look and functionality of them and id love to get a pair
Could totally use those extra pads for a floor press on a bench, way easier then setting up on the ground.
I like your rack with the cables and different arm handles that comes with it. Did you modify it or we can buy it like that?
Pre mustache Coop! 😂
You could use the curl attachments to do a “floor press”
Definitely trying that one.
@@GarageGymReviews or floor flys.
Got this bench after watching your CZcams (my source to build home gym this year). I found that this bench wobble /tipping over to the left side at upright position. Rughr side is stable. Do you share the same issue? Thanks.
Coop do you think you could use those side pieces for JM presses??
Also thinking of purchasing this bench have they followed any of your suggestions in the attachment to the sorinex rack?? That would be great if they did
Your music onslaught just blew out my hearing! Thanks?
How different is it doing sit ups on an FID bench in decline versus a true ab/decline bench where your knees are more elevated? I'm wondering if situps on the FID will cause back pain?
Would like some reviews of Fray fitness equipment
B C same
Another thing that the extra “arms” can provide would be floor press. Instead of being on the floor and throwing heavy DBs back in an uncontrolled way, you can easily “floor” press by yourself using the arm pads.
Do you like the selectorized prodigy rack more than the plate loaded. I noticed that your review was on the plated loaded but you appear to have the selectorized in your garage now.
What's the weight capacity and warranty? Thanks coop. Great video as usual.
Weight capacity is over 1,000 lb. Warranty is lifetime I believe. Pretty much standard for Prime products.
Was wondering if on the selectorized model can you use the full 350lbs or is it reduced 2:1 to 175?
It does not. It would be nice if it could change on and off, but it's 1:1.
Thanks!
Thinking about buying this since the rogue ab2/ab3 and even adjustable bench 2.0 havent been in stock a while and doesnt look like theyll be anytime soon. Also wouldnt mind a rep 5100/5000 but same deal who knows when theyll be in stock and theres a 30 day shipping delay through rep when they are.
How has it held up? Ik you got a ton of benches and probably dont use it a ton just wondering if you have been using it/have it in your gym how it has held up/how people like it. Will mostly be using it for dumbbell work and the occasional incline bench press.
Not listing prices online is a deal breaker. Guess I'll check out Rogue's selection. Moving on...
would love to be able to lock in to my Rogue Monster rack.
I actually just picked up a Monster Rack. The Fortis rack specifically. I actually got to talk with Steve Slater and told him they need to do a drop in comp bench for their racks. Their showroom in Columbus is pretty cool.
@@Pler1978 I thought hard about the rml 490c. And seeing it in person it's a nice rack but the monster series just has a really cool look. And being $200 cheaper for the Fortis rack didn't hurt. I should have my bench mid week so then I am set. Went with the Rep fitness fb5000 and a fat pad. I need to grab the spotter arms for things like pin pressing. The pin safeties will be replaced by the safety straps but for the time it works. Next up a good set of steel plates, good set of bumpers for Oly work (which I enjoy a lot), and a few different bars. All in time. But first a new platform. I have an 8x8 one that this thing basically filled. So I plan on making another 8x8 but in 4x8 pieces. Easy to store and I can move it into my driveway since cleans and snatches in the garage are a bit sketch.
remember when co-op used to review equipment that costs less then a months mortgage.
Great video brother…. Looking for a bench
Hey, thanks for the review. At 2:48 what is the flat bench with adjustable height in the middle?
Could you use that curl attachment for floor press without getting on the floor??!!
I'm going to give it a shot. It's a good idea.
Which would you choose between this and the Rogue AB-3?
@@audiblefart6211 The AB-3 comes out to be $1250 shipped whereas this one is $918 - about a $300 difference. I just wonder how much better the Rogue is since it costs $300 more. Im assuming because Rogue is more well known but Prime is no slouch either and i believe both offer lifetime warranties. Buying gym equipment is hard!
Can I fold this upright for storage? Also what was the extra price for the arm pads and the leg attachment?
After all that he totally ignored the best bench of all time! The Rep Fitness AB-5000 Zero Gap!
Is it? It seems like a lot of steps just to adjust it. But I am waiting for it to come back in stock.
The "best bench ever" has quite a bit of wobble from the reviews I've seen.
@@turtlepowersf took me a bit to really find out but this is in fact true. Replaced both my Zero Gaps with a rogue bench and an elite fts.
@@SkullCrushersClub Any reason for not giving the Prime bench a shot? Seems like it surpasses the rogue at a cheaper price point. I'm trying to decide between the rogue ab-3 and the Prime so I'm curious why you went with the former>\?
Hello. How was that prodigy hlp selectorized rack shipped to you. I wanna get this for inside my home. I would have to bring it through a regular sized single front door. Thank you.
Coop, please review the Prime functional trainer.
Hoping to!
@@GarageGymReviews
ForceUSA Monster G3 and/or Monster G6 power rack/functional trainer also if possible please. Thanks.

All these people crying about the price🤣🤣 look up any high quality benches, made in USA and rugged, they’re all 700+ lmao. It’s a competitively priced bench for its class, people are crazy lol. Gym equipment is expensive, you would think people interested in it would know that by now lmao
Coop, you're not even going to address why you are covered in scratches.. wtf is going on man?? 😂😂
Fell on my OneWheel haha
We don't talk about fight club.
