Did they not give Martinez a physical before they signed him? Just bring up Vientos, and give him some time.
Yeah that makes sense personally what good can a guy who is injury prone batter offer the Mets! I bet it's much worse! Than what they tell us!😢😮
Exactly
The Mets seem to sign players that are injured, or past their prime.
Bring up Mark
Im a Butto believer.....i want him in the regular rotation. I think this kid shows great composure and has good stuff. Hes one of those kids that simply HANDLE the transition from minor league ball to the big leagues. He will only get better with more opportunities.
Interesting game last night... the Mets are going to be interesting if nothing else year. The young GM looking to constantly churn the roster. He reminds me of Brandon Beane of the Buffalo Bills.. extremely active in roster moves.
That’s a good call. It’s nice having someone who’s always trying to improve the team and keep people fresh.
They are a team that will get very boring when they drop 20 games out of the playoff race. The pitching is sub par and they don’t hit in the clutch.
Depends what you find interesting..@@rickjason215
Yeah, they don't need Vientos right now as witnessed by they were at least able to score 5 runs last night, they need pitching to keep Atlanta from scoring.
Vientos needs to come up immediately. Stewart had a nice moment the other night but unless he shows signs he is going into one of his hot streaks, he has to go down.
No wonder he didn't sign with another ball club the Mets got suckerd punch in the mouth with this move
This is our journey
Who the heck u talking too stay in the kitchen
Make Bader captain and manager. Make Sasser catcher.
Lol
Haha. Who knows? Maybe it would go to Bader's head and he would think he's actually good and start to hit. He should pretend anyway.
@@CautionHighWavesAhead- he is good or wouldn’t be here. He’s just not as good. Mets in 26
Mackey Sasser? He's 61 years old now.
@@cryptowesley5148 he can’t play till he is 82
I said it then, I'll say it again. Vientos should have made the roster out of ST. There is NO need for 2 can't-hit middle infielders as evidenced by the fact that Short has barely even played. They should have kept Guillorme and never messed with these bums. Vientos doesn't belong in AAA. Either bring him up or trade him.
If we can keep Atlanta from scoring too much tonight I think we've got a good chance, their starter that's replacing Strider doesn't look that great
Allan Winans was really good against the Mets last year in New York.
No Scott tissue is on his way
Regarding Houser......he looked terrible..... and maybe he doesn't have a chance against that lineup but hitting Acuna is like handing Atlanta a free run with his speed.......add walks and he could kiss his rear end goodbye. Im sorry.....but i don't understand this organization and their thinking......im not a huge Lucchesi fan but the guy had some really nice outings last year and i believe he deserves an opportunity over Houser..... explain why im wrong?????
Nitpicking when this team has the lowest era in the nl history is crazy dude not all of our pitchers can have great games every outing saying you don’t understand the organization and their thinking when the pitching has been really good is crazy.
@@MatthewMartell I'm a 50 year Mets fan. I don't evaluate the first 10 games as anything of value. I comment on issues I see as noteworthy..... something to consider at this time of year. They could be throwing shut outs every night for the first ten games......it means nothing. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see this team lacks quality starting pitching. Over any short sample of games they can be effective. I'm commenting with constructive criticism looking towards a 162 game season.
Agree houser? Hmm they need to play the kids that's what I would do forget about saving money on guys that are passe!
Seems like this organization repeatedly slow plays bad news. Its as if they feel its better to blindfold the fan base rather than tell us the sad but honest truth. Thats not a good look. I was the first to say the Senga injury was going to linger beyond a month..... and clearly its exactly as expected.
His batting average .100 in single he is behind in being ready and still not healthy nor ready let him get ready or he at his could become dl for the year last time this happen it work two times could be bad choice have vientos and i am glad Acuna is batting better want him or Mauricio to replace Mcneil
I was thinking about this last night watching the game. They panned to short and wendle sitting on the bench and I was wondering what the fuck are they doing with both of them here. Vientos should have made the team out of camp.
Very true
Vientos should be on the MLB roster.....he doesn't have a problem with minor league pitching......he needs practice hitting major league arms. If you're trying to change the culture......it starts with honest discussion and appropriate moves. Vientos should be in Queens or playing somewhere else on a MLB roster.
Wendle was not a good signing......Short looked better this spring. He's a guy that could be a real FIND if he gets an opportunity.
@@johncummings5350 yeah but they haven’t gotten him any playing time. I get it baty is hitting well even against left handed pitchers but McNeil, guy is hitting in the 100s and he’s played every day.
@@J-tu2pb McNeil is a head scratcher......the guy won a batting title two years ago and hasn't been even close to that hitter since......I personally think he needs to stop slapping at the ball as if his bat is a pitching wedge. He's a world class golfer.....but since they can't shift anymore it makes empty holes harder to find. Id rather see him drive the baseball rather than try to poke singles like he's been doing.
Mark Levine author and host on Fox News Sunday
He’s a math teacher and he’s 79. I know him.
Can this Mets team put a crooked number on the scoreboard before the sixth inning???? Why do they consistently struggle early offensively every night?? Please.....give your pitching some early support!!!!!!
It’s definitely tough to watch when the offense struggles so much out of the gate. Against the Braves it might not matter, but it would be awesome to see Jose Quintana or Luis Severino pitch with multiple runs of run support.
@@LockedOnMets It's been an issue for this team for quite some time......no early run support. You watch Atlanta and they often have 4+ runs the first time through the lineup. It seems the Mets need to use their first time through the lineup to get a feel for the pitcher and how he's throwing...... and that shouldn't happen with all the resources and technology available to analyze pitching trends and what to expect from starting pitchers. You put a crazy amount of stress on your own rotation when it takes 5 innings to become comfortable at the plate. It's something that was an issue last year as well. I believe the Mets had the worst scoring offense in MLB in the first inning last year and it was something I addressed in spring training.......yet the trend continues.....
I think the Mets have to rework their line up for that to occur; they would have to move Nimmo out of the lead off spot. The Mets need someone who can steal a base; imagine a line up where the lead off man gets on; steals second get's moved to third on a right side ground out. Not going happen with Nimmo in lead off. I think Nimmo would be best as either 3rd in the line up or the 5th line up with his power playing more
Solar was the better choice.
its Soler not Solar duh
Bader trying to stretch that single early on into a double and getting picked off was brutal
He hesitated which cost him.
Fire Bader.
I liked the signing but I knew at the price Mets got him they would play him close to every day which would expose him. He’s not a everyday player which is killing us
@@explosivediarrhea4671 bring back timo Perez. He has the strength to be there.
@@ericB3444 haha we need to hit consistently though that’s what separates us from dodgers Braves Yankees. Also our pitching needs to go more then 5 innings
Might be a baby Mets reunion
Lol
another old man - the yankees got soto we got an old man - sick and tired - yankees always beat us in trades and free agency - i know soto will sign the yankees next year - sickening -
Well that old man had a great fucking year for starters so what exactly are you bringing his age up for and not his stats lmfao 2 Yankees got Soto because the padres want pitching which the Yankees had an abundance of we clearly lack that and need pitching so tell me how the Mets could’ve got Soto ? Sometimes I think y’all don’t actually watch. Baseball are are casual fans complaining after becoming fans because of cohens money.
So you were the ONE Mets fan who didn't want the Mets to sign JD Martinez?
Martinez scam the mets for 12mil to play in AAA
Supposedly he had back issues last year and was okay rest of the season. So he could still be a factor.
Bring up staub
Maybe its because he's 6 feet under duh
Bring up vientios already it's silly to think he will play get real yea he's finito
Can u hire me
Why do the Mets go along with the black listing of an innocent man, Trevor Bauer? The Mets are at best a 75 win team.
The public relations hit is going be huge for anyone that signs him; Mets probably would have people boycott the team. He still have some civil sits pending; 29 others teams are also passing on him.
"Innocent."
@@benjaminwatlers1848 Public relations hit for giving an innocent man a job? MLB should never have suspended him. He had no chance in the arbitration hearing. MLB fired every arbitrator that ruled against them. The Players Association takes the decision and doesn’t fire arbitrators that rule against them. An Arbitrator makes a ton of money. Who would give up that sweet job?
@@BillLoguidiceAuthor “Innocent”?
More stupid moves by the Mets..not playing Taylor..and they send vientos dawn..now they need cause everyone else stinks..and Martinez who knows
Lol mets suck, bottom line from owners to players to ball boy all garbage....of course Martinez was injured when signed , why u think Noone else wanted him, another old injured player, Cohen doesn't learn.
Why is it that the mets are a team to get damaged players wow no wonder why they suck they get damaged goods. Baseball players make too much money if you ask me. How can people spend money to go watch this team spending hundreds on tickets and food at the stadium. Ridiculous.
