Leonid, I will try to say this with as little idiom as possible to avoid mistranslation... You and your group of friends are without question the finest Chicago tribute act in the world. Every song you put out is a loving and precise tribute. As I've said elsewhere, you and your friends are playing this music more accurately and more faithfully to the original arrangement than the real Chicago currently is playing these songs. For them it is a job now; for you it is clearly love. As a musician myself, and one who grew up listening to and also performing this very music, it brings me great joy to hear each and every song. I am forcefully reminded of that youth when I listen to your band play these songs that I love so much. I am certain that if the real Chicago has seen these videos, they are extremely impressed. I sincerely hope that they contact you to congratulate you on the achievements you have put forth. Your passion in rendering these songs is inspirational.

I played this for a friend who is a big Chicago fan over Spotify. It is so spot on he actually thought it was Chicago until I told him otherwise. He has since checked L&F's other work and is dying to see them live one day.

There's no doubt that every one of these people is an outrageously talented and gifted musician, their videos are amazing...but give kudos to Leonid...the guy who has to listen over and over to the Chicago tracks and break down every instrument, every vocal to get the end result so faithful and perfect...this is dedication that borders on insanity...and thank heaven for it...!

Yet they do it with real dedication and passion to recreate the originals, and sometimes make appropriate improvements in them. There is true mastery happening here. Insight into the burnout of the original Chicago. The lyrics, “same old show in a different town tonight” is key. They worked so hard for so many years they just got tired. God bless the original guys for their genius. God bless Leonid and Friends for carrying the torch of greatness.
I can think of a lot of jobs that are worse. Like a roofer or brick layer, or about 90% of other jobs out there.
Not many people realize that when Chicago did the original, it took the Beach Boys on backing vocals as well. That makes this more incredible!!!

Drove my grandmothers 1971 Dodge Polara. For some reason she had a 440 4 barrel put in it!!!!!!! Had a friggin blast!!!! Seems like it was in another lifetime now?? Oh well, with these guys bringing it back make me feel young again!!!!!................

I've listened to this many times but never made a comment. I agree with most of the other comments and have to say that although I loved Chicago, these guys sound even better. I love Leonid's bass on this one.

It's due to the current culture. Newer generations -- in general, not as an absolute --are not entertained by craft in an age where nearly everything is about the superficial and fleeting. While you'll find more than a few examples of younger people who have found and like 'better' stuff, as evidenced in many CZcams comment sections, their numbers still seem relatively few. I believe that this overall condition will only trend downward, as seen by those of us with 'good taste' ; ] Thankfully, there *_is_* good new music, although a dense Indie market and home-brewed mass-production in this newest, ever-changing tech arena make it difficult to find the really magical stuff.
Also, as always, there's no accounting for personal preference, and there's no ultimate arbiter of what's considered 'good'.
That's my take on it. New audiences who would like this high-quality talent aren't well-served by what's left of The Recording Industry, and it's only by referral or some version of chance that they might encounter great classics and absolutely fabulous, reverent performances like what Leonid and Friends offer.

Every time I hear this song I cry because it was one of my Mom’s favorite songs by Chicago. I can still remember her turning up the record when this song would come on. I cried a little harder tonight when I heard this amazing cover because you guys are so darn good. I know my Mom would have loved this. Well done.

Every song that you cover you sound better than the original artist! Every fine detail, every little embellishment, every single string, drum beat, and vocal is sheer magic! This song is absolutely phenomenally redone

Listen and watch this, then go to the New Years Eve performance by Chicago and Beach Boys...where Terry Kath was all dressed up in a tux and looking like a million bucks. His vocal and Cetera's were matched perfectly by this band and thats flat out hard to do. And if this is not extraordinary enough, there is the gorgeous Ksenona making it even harder to not watch over and over. There aren't enough superlatives to describe Leonid & Friends. Stunning!

Thank you! I was going to ask which one was Leonid. I've been in three rock bands; thank goodness I didn't see these guys beforehand! Incredibly talented.
One thing about this group is their passion for this music that comes through loud and clear. With their orchestra that they use on other numbers the girls are all smiling big time and you can see and feel the joy they experience playing this music. This music was written during the cold war with Russia, unlike the crap being played today...These guys are wonderful, I would buy tickets to their show over the actual Group Chicago and their tickets are 10x cheaper on top of it and they are better then the pseudo group now that call themselves Chicago.
Ksenona is truly a solo artist that has yet to be discovered. She speaks and sings 7 in languages, holds a degree in international finance and preforms like she does and is only 22 years old.
The lead guitar player must be channeling Terry Kath as his riffs are flawless and to do what Kath did is not easy for anyone.
The drummer is absolutely spot on in every beat. As a life long Chicago fan, one couldn't ask more from a cover band then this. Great Job guys!!!!!
Unbelivable perfection. I cannot believe this has been on CZcams for 5 years and only just come across it in 2022. I am on youtube many hours a day and this is my music. Why its not been offered before is beyond me. I am addicted to Leonid and friends and keep listening to same songs over and over. Wishing you were here, If you leave me now, Hard habit to break, You're the inspiration, In the Stone and Aint no body are stunning, but everything you do is perfection. I have a very precise musical ear and you are almost indistinguishable from original and given choice, i'd choose your recording as it sounds so much better than my records. I was born in 67 and grew up with Pink Floyd, Genesis, Supertramp . . . but never really listened to Chicago for some reason. I'm 51 and honestly just listening to these songs for the first time today because of you. Wow, just wow, did I miss some great music growing up. Hope you guys are around for my next 50 and the start of my new Chicago journey.

If you recently discovered Chicago, you have so much discovery remaining. The 60's and 70's had musical artists that were beyond belief.
The cool thing about Chicago was that they had the ability to really rock out with the best of 'em but at the same time create some the most emotionally beautiful mellow music ever recorded, like this song. Not many bands could do both like Chicago could. The early seventies was their best period. Greatest Hits and Chicago V are a good place to start. By the eighties they had pretty much cheezed out and many of their original fans had lost interest in them. If that's the Chicago you first heard they were nothing like the early seventies version. Still waiting for Leonid to do "Dialogue 1 & 2" and "(I've Been) Searchin' So Long".

I CANNOT stop watching & listening to this group! Since I ‘discovered’ them, here on CZcams, 2 weeks ago I’ve played their entire catalog over & over (& over ...). As both a vocalist & horn player growing up in the ‘60s & ‘70’s in America I was obsessed with the great horn bands like Chicago; Blood Sweat & Tears; Earth, Wind & Fire, et. al.. I marvel at the exquisite musicianship displayed by all of these immensely talented people and only wish I could could ‘sit in’ with them!
Leonid’s ability to cipher these tracks - BY EAR - is reminiscent of the scene in ‘Amadeus’ (movie about Mozart) where Mozart hears Salieri’s march played once by the Emperor Joseph II ... which leads to Mozart sitting down and playing it and then running many variations off with ease.
Okay, back to the present from my obscure movie reference ... Leonid & Friends musicianship, obvious passion and enjoyment of playing keystone music from my youth has brought tremendous joy to me in what has been (like so many I suspect) one of the most difficult years of my 60 year-old life! (2020)
I am a disabled Veteran living in chronic pain and fatigue from Parkinson’s disease. My medical providers encouraged me to return to my musical & artistic youthful endeavors for ‘Neuroplasticity’ ... and it’s been one of the most effective means of pushing back on chronic pain and keeps me from falling into the twin abyss of dopamine deficiency induced Anxiety & Depression.
I, however, hit a very rough spot, 3 months ago and stopped painting and playing my music. That is ...
UNTIL I heard Leonid & Friend’s opening riffs of Chicago’s “Make Me Smile”. ... which, in a profound way they did!

I just saw this for the first time having listened to many of your songs over the years. Compared to later productions, this small ensemble was perfect at conveying the tranquil intimacy of this song, Brilliant.
