- Blindspot checks are one of the things you are shown from your first driving lesson. But it is also one of the things learners sometimes get wrong on their driving test.

Just a tip for when you have to do a reverse manoeuvre in the actual driving test) You can take off your seatbelt which will let you freely observe both blind spots.
Still don't know what that elderly woman was doing really standing on the road. Great video by the way.
That's why I think there is accidents on the motorway most of the time, yes speeding is a big factor, but I think a lot of people don't check in there mirrors and especially not the blind spot check.
Thanks Travis
Thanks for this video
KnowI never forget blind spot thanks
Great video. Thank you 🌼👍
The view in the right blind spot was just beautifu and splendid. I was literally like a painting 😍😍

Hello, I have my test on the 8th of December and have mastered most aspects of driving. However, shoulder checks are something that bothers me. Mostly, I'll either forget to do them or I won't do them in fear that whilst I'm driving and need to do the checks, that I'll steer in that direction.
Could you help how I could overcome this please?
I would do your 5 point check as it’s in the video. Then as you are about to move off, just check your right mirror shoulder,
Hi, I have my test in three weeks and I have been told by some people that you shouldn’t look at blind spots over your shoulder when moving forward. However some people say you should. For example changing lane you should look over your shoulder? Do you look over your shoulder or not 😫I’m so confused and stressed. Thanks
Did you ever find out the answer???
According to the book I have read (Norwegian traffic rules) when changing lanes first you check side mirrors, rear view mirror then blind spot. You need to check the blindspot before you attempt to change in left lane. Therefore, you need to quickly check the back (window at the back) then you see if there is a car beside or not. But i think, you already got your license by now 😊
How do you manage to check your left blind spot when changing from right to left on duel carriageway? I feel I am going to sway over 😔
I would practice whilst stationary checking. I also tell my students that a right blindspot check when you are about to move off is not the same as a right blind spot check whilst driving on a carriageway to change lanes.
I call it a parrot check. So when you are driving and want to change lanes, check to see if the parrot is on your right shoulder, then check the right mirror. Hope that helps.
Hi travis ive just had a terrible mock lesson. Ive got my test next month. My blind spots. I got 4 serious and 9 minors..im very tired and stressed during a two hour class.. any advice or tips
It's is normal to have a bad mock test. You will learn from the pressure and I would retake one in three weeks to see id you have improved.
@@JamesTravis thank you travis.. i had a assessment yesterday. My instructor very happy with my driving.. my test next week.. i will keep you posted
Did u pass?
Thank you test is in two days
Good luck
Is the right blind spot check at 45 degrees to your shoulder?
The blind spots when moving off are just over your left and right shoulder.
If you were travelling at speed and changing lanes then a blind spot check is looking to your side shoulder.
@@JamesTravis thats perfect , thank you !
after failing my test today first time so disappointed 😭😭😭😭😭😭
Sorry to hear
I always check my surroundings before I pull off...😅
Excellent
I only passed recently and have been driving every day since then. My biggest concern now is to get used to all the impatient and careless drivers!
I would not let the bad and impatient drivers put you off. Stick to what you know. Safe driving
I know, right? Everyone is in a freaking hurry to get NOWHERE!!
How to check blind spot on motorway?
Watch this video on motorways from 5 minutes in and it covers changing lanes on motorways and blindspots.

Some instructors tell you not to look behind you at your blindspot on motorways as it draws the car to the left?
I would definitely look at your blind spots on motorway lanes.
@JamesTravis not at high speed it's dangerous to do so
Did you stage the lady?
No. Just a random lady
