To conquer the spirits requires truths grounded in reality and the spirits are merely another one of those truths, thus one gains power from the written words of others and interprets them for their power and gains the spirit while others provide in these empty shell of lives blind to most of the the realities of the world. Whether Heaven or "Hell" (which would be those who work and hold office) is more powerful or wins in an ultimate battle remains to be seen. They eat the cracker of truth and hope for a later glory after living, while some receive the full mystery.
