White college kids in the 20s bought a lot of Black Jazz records, and that inspired a lot of White musicians to join the fun. BeBop? R&B? Rock? HipHop? All feature some creditable, sometimes brilliant work by White musicians. Don't misunderstand me, Black musicians invented this stuff - Joplin, Armstrong, Parker, T-Bone.... These musicians were talented and driven, and they deserve whatever acclaim they get. But Ms. Stone is damned impressive here. You should enjoy the show. Or, you know, you can still get a hold of Jewel recordings.....
