- Zen with Jen: Camino de Santiago, part 2!
After an amazing pilgrimage through Spain last year (Camino Francés), this year I did the Camino Portuguese (spiritual route) together with my beloved at that time: Rick. 265 kilometers of things that went wrong ;).
Have you already seen my other camino vlogs?
Camino Frances 2018: • 2018 Pilgrimage to San...
Camino Frances 2021: • 2021 Pilgrimage to San...
Camino Frances 2023 (group): • 2023 Pilgrimage to San...
Love from Holland,
Jen
Thank you. I have a mental disorder, and I know that it is true, that when I am treating my body right... eating right... walking every single day... sleeping at night and getting out in nature... my symptoms lessen... my thoughts are shifting and I feel more balanced mentally, emotionally and physically. For me it all begins with my physical Heath. Walking is the best thing I can ever do for myself. Thank you for putting that into words and thank you for sharing your journey to Santiago. Greetings from Denmark
That is beautifully said, thank you!
Thanks Jen - I just spontaneously booked a ticket to Porto a few days ago and I arrive...in a few days! So I am just binge-watching Camino Portuguese videos at the moment haha. But enjoyed your vlog-I felt like I was right there with you...and I can't wait to start!
That is so exciting David! I wish you the bost beautiful journey of your life. Buen camino!
Hello again Jen ( I am the same Paul Cunliffe in the post at the start of this video) I have just watched your second Camino video and thoroughly enjoyed it as I did your first. I said you were an inspiration for all Camino pilgrims and you truly are.
I did indeed walk my Camino Frances in September/October last year and it was one of the best experiences of my life and never to be forgotten.
I also met a very special Spanish lady in Logrono who kept in touch with me on the phone all the way to Santiago de Compostela and now one year later we are in a wonderful relationship and I cherish this as a gift to me from the Camino.
So Jen thank you for your positivity and thoughtful comments on your walks. Keep smiling and walking Paul x
Dearest Paul,
How nice to hear from you again! First of all, thank you for your kind words, i appreciate it :)
Secondly.. wow! You met your love on the camino! That is amazing and so wonderful, i'm happy for you guys and wish you the best. Say hi to her from me. #thankful
Love, Jen
Hey Jen, thanks for your second Camino Portuguese Vlog. Donna and I (Mark) met you at the dinner in Zubiri on your Day 3 on your first Camino 2018. Good to hear your life lessons and good to see your still on the path. Buen Camino!
Hey Mark and Donna, I remember that! You wrote in my little booklet! How have you been?
I was so excited to watch this and it did not disappoint! An absolutely beautiful story, and I like that you balance the good and the bad. Thank you so much for sharing, as always😀
Thank you so much! So glad you liked it again. :)
Felt for you and Rick on his first Camino, you did a beautiful job supporting him but carrying on together in your own ways, I teared up too when you arrived..thank you for this sweet vlog.
I tear up too when I watch it again, every time! :) Thank you for watching this one too! There's another one, if you like them. For the camino frances. Love, Jen
I was with you all through the bumpy and lovely walk. I even teared-up when you reached Santiago de Compostela. Thank you for sharing your journey. Buen Camino!
Thanks for sticking by our side and your kind words :) xxx
Dear Jen and Rick. Thank you both so much for this lovely video and for sharing your experience from your hearts - both the joys and disappointments. It brings back so many wonderful memories. I walked the same route in June this year (2019) and loved it. Like Rick though, I suffered from excruciating blisters in exactly the same places on my feet. Fortunately my blisters didn't become so badly infected and I was able to walk the entire way which was extremely painful and in hindsight was not very smart. Rick, please don't let this experience discourage you. I hope you will walk the Camino again! I walked my first Camino in 2014 and like Jen, I got totally hooked. Buen Camino my fellow pilgrims and God bless you. I hope to meet you both someday on the way.
What a lovely and kind message, James! Thank you so much :) Glad to hear you were still able to walk this route. Hope your feet are okay now! Love, J&R
Very inspiring! Thank you both.
Buen camino!
Thank you for sharing this wonderful story. I sure hope all is well with Rick.
So kind of you! He's very well by now, thank you :)
I can relate to you and your boyfriend. I also had a lot of problems with my legs and feet when I did the French Camino in 2005, but I finish it. Five years later I did another shorter one and I have not been able to go back again. I have very bad knees and lots of problems with my feet. I wish you luck and that you can do all the Caminos you like to do. I remember the feeling at the end of the Camino, it's an amazing feeling you can't explain and only others who have done it can understand it. Buen Camino
So sorry to hear that, but so proud of you to finish it anyway! Wow. I hope for you that you find painless time and space to walk it again. Buen camino beautiful lady
Dank je wel. Zo inspirerend 🤗😀👍😘
Fijn om te lezen Chantal :)
Very cool! Thank you,
Very welcome
Thank you for this video. ")
So welcome, thank you !
Muy buen vídeo, buen camino, saludos.
Muchos gracias, Duarte. Buenas Dias xxx
Dear Jen, Thank you for an amazing blog. What was the name of the monastery that you stayed at in Santiago? Thanks
Hi Patricia, that's PR Hospederia Via Lucis. Have fun! xxx
Hi Jen. Please What is your camera on this camino - thank you and congrats for yours two Camino -
Hi Christian, I just use my iPhone (SE on the french route and X on the Portuguese route). I now have an XS because it has stereo audio. Xxx
You have inspired my father and I to walk the camino in April 2020! Any advice or insight you could provide would help - my father is 72 years old
What to pack/what not to pack
@@BJJNINJA215 What a compliment! WOW, how awesome is that... 72?! I'm thrilled for the both of you. I met a 72 year old lady and she was walking it with ease! Slowly, but steady. So my advice would be to take all the time you possibly have to finish it and don't follow someone else'e plan. Just walk how much he can take each day.
What to pack is not easily answered. I would suggest watching camino packing videos for advice on this. One thing though: buy good hiking sticks and bring enough socks. ;) Best of luck!
@@holyshitcoaching23 Thank you so much!! I am soooo excited!
Hi Jeneke, what a beautiful person you are sharing your Camino in such a personal manner. I relate to what you said about the Camino calling out to you. That has been the shared experience of my wife and I. It has always been calling us but we postponed it because she fell and fractured her ankle and foot descending a mountain in Petra Jordan in 2017.
We have booked to do Sarria to Santiago de Compostela and hope that the pandemic will allow us to proceed in September 2021. We will then be 78 and 73 respectively.
One question, what months in 2018 did you walk? The weather looked fabulous.
Why did you start the c aminho de Santiago in Porto? The peligrines who came through the south of Lisbon probably from North Africa or south of Spain like andulisia or extremadura, I came from Alentejo and I know of a church near Odemira which used to be part of a rest place for the peligrines, it is S. PDDRO CHURCH a rural church maybe from the 15 or 16 century.
Because we only had two weeks for holiday and this was one of the recommended routes.
mooi hoor, goed gedaan, knap!
Dank! Lief :)
Hey, loved your journey. We want to stay in small hotel or B&B like you. Can you share where you stayed please? 🇨🇦
Glad you liked it, Lynne! I can try to look it up for you. Which village would you like to know?
pfffffffff.. you broke my heart^^
hahaha! that's cute. Sorry for breaking it. Here's a whole heart

Gracias mucho, Ana. Yo no hablo espanol bien pero yo te comprendo. Besos!
Jen take care of your body💜I think that you would like to listen to DR.JOE DISPENZA. I'm glad that you have a boyfriend you guys look great together 💞💕

I'm sorry you cannot handle human emotions ;) If you are thinking about walking this journey, prepare for some emotional stages.
