Man you are the king of controllers in this space! Thanks for breaking this one down so well!
🥹 Dweeb. You're awesome. I needed that right now so thanks, really.
@GameTechTalk how do you add vibration feedback on the android Samsung S24 Ultra looking into gaming for a more immersing experience..
I got my gamesir paid 4 and waiting for the USPS to drop my box.. thanx 4 your quality vid about this product, ✌️
@@politepeppermint This controller doesn't have vibration feedback, in fact, it is extremely rare at this point in time to have a controller that supports it at all. It's slowly starting to change though. With that said, some games will offer haptics through the phone, and that will give a bit of a vibration, but that also is rare too. I hope this answers the question, cheers! :)
@GameTechTalk thanx, it was a headache scavenging the internet 4 that particular question. Appreciate it, sending good vibes your way.. keep up the excellent work on your channel.
The best thing about this controller you can add you own magnetic cooler on the back
Yeah that's neat for sure!
Great review
Well thank you greatly! 😊
Sooooo visually pleasing 😮
Thanks! 😊
I have X2 and G8, still waiting for the moment they create one for 10 inch tablets
I’m hoping too, the X2s doesn’t go as wide when modded but it’s working on the iPad Pros. So does the G8 but I’d like a proper controller designed for iPads and Android tablets!
The G8 would be perfect, and if it could work for PC as well. Missed opportunity.
Same I have the x2 pro, and I'm looking to see a better compatible controller with a fold5 to upgrade, need a proper set up for the ds/ 3ds emulation lol
I'm not sure if you're aware, but you can mode the g8 to fit up to a 14.5-inch tablet
I am glad you were using the Razer Edge instead an actual cellphone... Try it with the Pimax Portal..if you can...
Also, That other brand you showed at the beginning of the video...did you noticed any difference...I only have the GameSir X-2 Pro... However, it's usb-c... I was looking for for a Bluetooth version too for my collection...
🤓🧐🤔
The Turtle Beach Atom? It's decent but to be fair, the Atom came out way before. Let's just say GameSir took the concept and made it drastically superior. But yeah, standing on its own, the Atom is ok, not great.
Great reviews! So I'm interested in either this one, or the Kishi Ultra. I play emulation and some Pokemon unite here and there. Which controller would recommend more overall?
Kishi Ultra. If you don't intend to take advantage of that split feature, its appeal diminishes. You got to rely on Bluetooth, you also have to keep a battery up so if you use it all the time as a single unit, that means you'll always have to make sure to connect it back before charging it. It's small details but down the road, it could be an unnecessary nuisance. You said emulator mainly and some Pokemon Unite, if you would have said mainly Pokemon Unite and some emulator I would've flipped the suggestion as well. I hope this helps!
@@GameTechTalk It helps! Thanks homie
The X3 was the first controller i got from GS. It was this X4's predecessor. It has basically all of these customization options like the removable face buttons si you can give it a switch layout. There's a few key differences between the two though. Outside of this being Bluetooth, I'd say this a step up in just about every way.
Were you using the Google Play Store version of the App, or the one from their website? Cause I know the play store version isn't supposed to support V touch.
I think the most useful feature of this type of controller with the software, (and I know Mantis is working on dual touch as well) is the ability to use your right thumb to navigate the right side of the screen. The repeating pan input function that the GS and Mantis app have just does not work well with some games. You get a lot of stuttering and jank when something in your game comes under the area where you are simulating the right touch input. This would solve that issue I'm thinking.
I did get both actually, on the Edge, Razer seems to block GameSir's App (lul) so I had to get the apk but on the Redmagic 8 Pro, I got it from the store. Come to think of it, you might be right, up to the pairing process, the Magic 8 Pro would still say I need to be in developer mode despite already being as such. I did experience a little bit of jankyness but I attributed it to the screen protector. Nothing too alarming though... Cheers!
@@GameTechTalk I downloaded the APK yesterday, but idk I trust GameSir for the most part & really like their products, but there's something that doesn't sit right with me with Google Play Protect flagging the website version of the app as malware. I just ended up deleting it and going back to the play store version even though I'm constantly getting messages about putting it in deep sleep cause of it crashing. I did try v touch on the Play store version anyways just to see if it did work & it does, so idk why the website says that it doesn't work.
Ok, you convinced me, that's a bloody nice controller kit lad. Easy to use and really, killer for a true mobile solution for Android.
If you do end up picking one up, let me know your impressions. I just was never a fan of that form-factor but this one has left me wanting to actually play mobile shooters. Division is supposed to be right around the corner? I'll be playing it with the X4 for sure. I do wish they had spoofed profile like the G8 though, that would have been a KILLER controller for iPhones.
@@GameTechTalk Oh, I'm definitely getting this. I'll also let you know what I think. It's a very, very interesting take on an unconventional controller segment to begin with. Should be interesting tbh lad.
Ok is this mobile controller also for iPhone
@@jaydenlopez7673 Unfortunately it isn't. GameSir doesn't care to pay that MFi tax I guess. Also, mapping wouldn't be supported on iOS even if they did port over. Cheers!
Another great video, this one looks really cool but im just not a fan of clicky buttons.
Fair enough, the OG gamer has come to accept them but rest assured, the membrane style of G8 still has my heart, and yours too I take it. Thanks!
You're the '94 Expos of controller reviews. I'm happy I waited until I could give it my undivided attention.
I think this GameSir Aileron is a controller that I want. I'm not a good enough gamer to be sensitive to Bluetooth latency and my X2 Pro is just a wee bit too bulky to bring with me during the summer because I don't often carry a bag. A lot of the places I frequent have banned backpacks and male shoulder/messenger bags outright due to theft. I could just stuff it in one of my pants pockets; but, whenever I do people think I'm happy to see them, and most of the time I'm definitely not.
Towards the beginning of this review you mentioned the magnetic face buttons and having never seen that before on a controller. The GameSir X2 Pro also has them. I remember asking about if they'd included those with the G8 Galileo during GameSir's launch livestream, so, clearly I'm the reason they brought it back. Much yes. Such me. Probably not.
Something I've wondered, but don't have the budget to find out for myself is: will RedMagic Shadow Blade buttons interchange with GameSir magnetic buttons? The OG Shadow Blade was a very minimally reworked X2 Pro. It was like a Canadian Fargo pick-up compared to the GameSir's Dodge. The buttons were matte finished and had a different font on the RedMagic, which is the only reason I care, but I don't know if they kept the magnets from the X2 Pro.
Matt! Is that delightful humour of yours effortless? Is it calculated? Because it feels like it just comes naturally with you and I LOVE IT! I must've lol'ed at least four times reading this. You're a genius!
And whattttt?!? I have the X2 Pro, I guess I'm caught red-handed because I NEVER KNEW this was a feature. Out of Topic - I've been tempted to grab the Galileo G8 iteration from RedMagic...
@@GameTechTalk - It's not your fault. They barely marketed the magnetic buttons on the X2 Pro. I think most people only found out about it because they accidentally knocked one off and watched it roll away like the low tide at Fundy. Or maybe that's just me.
I appreciate the compliment. I'm happy my comments spark joy.
The G8 based Shadow Blade 2 is very handsome. Don't get me wrong; I love the looks of the Galileo as it is, but, that smokey black the SB2 sports really does it for me.
Ive got the X2 pro but i got the X4 to try and it feels much nicer and fits my S24U with case on.
Yeah, I was shocked by how comfortable that controller feels. Definitely a move up versus the X2 Pro and for players of mobile shooters!
Indeed... I noticed that when I play N.O.V.A 3...and Modern Combat 3 ...on my Odin 2 Android Handheld... I am able to use the left stick while using the touch screen for the camera and to change weapon...
Yeah it's kind of the same with PC and baked in gyro support, it's two layers but you do have titles out there that will play nicely with both simultaneously, some won't and some will outright ban if people do.
@@GameTechTalk I see your point...
I use the left joystick to move but it stops working when I touch screen with my finger
@@TrungVu-dg7tt That is precisely because you are not in V-Touch mode and one layer is clashing with the other. GameSir has a video on their channel showing you the process to enable V-Touch, here it is: czcams.com/video/vqP2za4QfUY/video.html
I know that you mentioned it doesn’t work with iPhone. But have you actually tried it? I figured it should still work since it just runs off Bluetooth.
I did, so I don't know what it is with this controller but it's not as simple as just an Xbox 360 spoofing like most controllers do. Even on PC it's not plug n play, someone said in the comments they manage to make it work but to which extent, I don't know. So just like it, maybe there is a method on iOS but I've tried through regular bluetooth and I tried the backdoor trick using the bluetooth switches (if youère familiar with that hack) and none worked.
Edit: I should point out, even if it did work on iOS, you wouldn't get on-screen mapping, that's impossible on iOS as far as I know.
I have the X2 pro and recently bought the X2 bluetooth. If i know this is coming out I'd wait and buy this instead. Lol
Yeah, the X2 Bluetooth crapped on me within a month that I had it (bought it when it launched years ago) but I remember that controller had latency and it was in the very early phases of GameSir, they are much MUCH better now. But hey, that controller will be there for a while, no rush. As for the X2 Pro, it's very robust and great quality but no bluetooth as you know.
My next review is of the EasySMX M05 and M10, you might be interested in the M05, it has unique features! Cheers :)
What’s the best iPhone lightning port or bluetooth controller with low latency and hall effect in your opinion?
I got just the video for you, uploading any minute now and should be up in 2 hours give or take!
@@GameTechTalk ayyyyy
can you use this on a windows computer too? I need something that can work both on android and windows for when I travel, thx for the review nonetheless
Pleasure is all mine, unfortunately, it does not seem to work on Windows. I did test it using bluetooth, it's recognized, I paired it but it wasn't getting picked up in games, on Steam or Gamepad Tester. Do you care for the connection to be bluetooth, wired, it doesn't matter? Because I could have a suggestion or two if you let me know a bit more. Cheers!
@@GameTechTalk I'm happy to report I bought this (was planning on returning it if it didn't work on pc) and after a bit of tinkering I was able to get it to work on windows using Xoutput, windows does recognize the controller by itself (you can check on windows controller settings) but it needed the external program to make it usable in games
@@MrFioz1 Interesting, did you change drivers in Device Manager? Or did you need to have GameSir software installed on your PC? Weird that it's not plug and play. Thanks by the way, this is awesome info!
can charge the phone while using the controller on it?
As long as your connector is cleared, sure you absolutely can. Say you use just the left side controller and charge the right side and you're set!
Battery life in terms of hours?
I don't have an exact number but I would say approximately 5hrs? I think the battery life does depend on if you use only one side or both as there must be another antenna opened when using both. It's serviceable but definitely the type of device you don't want to forget to charge between sessions. I'd go as far as saying that if battery life is important for you, I might suggest looking at a proper candybar controller instead.
Cheers!
Got this but the L controller's charge goes down fast enough that there's always like a 10% difference between the L compared to the R
Yeah that's the unfortunate part with not having dedicated USB-Cs. If they ever make a future iteration, I'd love that both sides have a USB-C and you can charge from either sides. That would allow for people to manage the battery difference a bit better, what do you think?
@@GameTechTalk Yeah, I was just not expecting it to be a big of a difference. Still it last hours of play anyway. A USB-C on either sides might be a good idea for the next one. I will be expecting something good from Gamesir
Did you play Geforce Now on that ? I have a Logitech G Cloud and Advantage with my pixel 7 pro is: OLED, 120Hz while GFN has now 4k and 120 FPS on Android. What do you think of both ? Thank you @gametech
Not with that specific controller but I have used and tried Geforce Now many times before, I used to have a founder account until they did the segregation of users and I was just pissed off so I unsubbed. Geforce Now on phones (and PC) is absolutely amazing, and the later tier is just so crazy good. I just can't justify it cause I buy cutting edge stuff but I think it is a phenomenal option for gamers! I think this controller would be a great option if you also play one-controller style games on your Pixel 7 Pro, if you only play fully attached, I'd recommend going for a G8 or EasySMX M05 or even a Kishi Ultra. Cheers!
Will this work for pc?
It does not actually, tried on MacOS too it was the same. I can pair just fine with my PC but it's not recognized by anything, including Steam. That could change with a firmware update in the future but for now, best to assume that it won't work at all. Cheers!
Thanks for the reply 👍
Thoughts on this vs galileo g8?
This one has a particular element to it which is to play them split, and also, the mapping is particularly pleasant conceptually. Because of that, disconnecting one side vs the other vs both basically loads different saved profiles so it's a very dynamic experience. I'm less of a mobile shooter or moba kind of guy but for anyone that is, I think this controller is overall better designed for those types of games, whereas the G8 is your jack-of-all-trades kind of solution and my personal favorite of the two. Cheers!
@@GameTechTalkappreciate the fast reply!! And issues with bluetooth lag? I think was one of my concerns with this vs the g8. Looking to do more ps remote play with it
@@joshuabeerman7122 Pleasure is all mine! It's been extremely good in terms of Bluetooth and latency, but also, arguably the most concerning would be camera work. When removing the right side, by relying on touchscreen instead, you basically render the largest issue impossible to encounter no matter the conditions. So yeah, it's really designed in a way that there is always a solution.
@GameTechTalk good to know! Have you tried remote play via psplay with it yet?
@@joshuabeerman7122 I did, unfortunately it did not work because it does not spoof as PS4 or PS5 controller. You'd have to use PS Play or Replay to be able to play PS5 with this controller, which I tested and that worked fine.... Or, you could map the official remote play app but that's no bueno in my opinion.
I hate how mushy the buttons feel on my razor kishi V2 pro so how did the buttons feel on this controller
Errr... Pretty sure the buttons on the V2 Pro are clicky, they just feel mega cheap I find. The X4 Aileron feels infinitely better for buttons and ergonomics, build quality, everything really. But, still these are tactile buttons, so you know.
@@GameTechTalk yes but what I found is when you’re playing a fast pace hack and slash beat em up or fighting game (button mashing) the buttons are too slow to reset I only noticed it on my razor Kishi V2 and V2 pro but the problem is not existent on my Backbone maybe it’s just a me problem and I like shallow buttons lmaooo am I toxic that’s what I meant when I said it felt mushy to me
@@GameTechTalk also thanks for all the input
"Is there a controller thy can't do"
welp I'm waiting for a controller that let's you Play un portrait mode so....btw I have red Knight ipega and Saitake 7007f, that they works for that purpose, but i'm waiting for something of the quality of Gamesir or 8Bitdo, I hope that one day in the future they make something like that.
GameSir, if you're reading this, listen to this person!
is there a ps button/thumbstick layout version out there?
Unfortunately no. Also, I don’t think we’ve seen that kind of layout from GameSir at all now that you have me think 🤔 Maybe that’s something they could try in due time!
@@GameTechTalk i have the gpd win 4 and i so wish it had a ps layout. Would be awesome to see someone come out with a portal type handheld pc. But maybe im asking for too much.
@@DjVendetta I think it's a fair ask and one that would definitely catch my attention. Arguably, the closest to that (though not quite) would be the Steam Deck but it's a design of it's own... I think the fear from these brands is to design a product that people dare not to jump into (looking at you T101). But yeah, I'm with you, I'm a sucker for options so I'd love to see one like you described.
@@GameTechTalk I had the LCD SD and it was ok and I loved the controls but I always felt it was lacking in performance. I am hoping the SD2 will keep the same design but will use one of the Strix Halo chips. It would probably do well with the 55w version as they could give you full performance when plugged in but TDP it down when using battery. 1200 oled would be great but even the 800 would be fine. If they could also get FMF working on SteamOS that would also help with the current chipset. But RDNA 2 is really showing its age and I don't think its possible. Even the Strix Point 16cu's would blow the steam decks 2 cu's out of the water.
Which controller would you say is best for the Galaxy Z Fold?
1st Kishi Ultra, Tied in 2 & 3 GameSir X2s and Galileo G8. The G8 is better ergonomically and feature-wise but the X2s, having the connector on the left makes the Fold upper portion be over the controller versus being under like the other two.
Using a controller just to use the left analog stick is wild. Might as well just use the touchscreen
Can't you see I'm old?! My thumbs synchronization coordination is not what it used to be, don't hate on the next generation boomers my guy! 😭
@@GameTechTalkyou know what, i took back my words and i rewatched this video again. Now i understand why u only use the left stick u because u can map the left trigger buttons to the screen. Thats my bad on my part.
Btw if your really serious on playing shooting games on mobile, consider learning on using gyro. It takes sometime to get used to but once you get the hang of it, you'll definitely up your gaming to the next level and its just way more intuitive to play shooting games on mobile like pubgm or warzone m
@@mr.n476 My aging heart salutes you, I'm now off to take my cholesterol meds. Be good youngin' 😂 All jokes aside, all good my guy, I was just playing! Take care :)
Edit: And I agree, gyro is way too underrated, it's a sick solution for gaming in general and especially shooting games.
Can it be used for pc gamepad?? So we can just buy 1 controller for both world 😁
Unfortunately, from what I tested, it is not recognized on PC, weird I know, I don't recall seeing this pretty much ever but yeah, unless GameSir updates something somehow, I wouldn't expect that feature to be supported.
@@GameTechTalk thanks bro for your response, almost bought it thinking it support pc like reguler bluetooth controller. Need good gamepad for both worlds 🌍
Was actually thinking about buying this for my razor edge 5G lol
Major, MAJOR upgrade over the Kishi V1 and V2, V2 Pro. Not as expensive as the Ultra and has unique features in comparison, both choices would be great ones. If you are a shooter and moba players like addressed in the video, I'd favor that one. Cheers!
FYI I'm going to 3D print some kind of block where I can use the controller in my hand as a standalone controller where my razor edge is connected to the TV Yes I like to do too much lol
Clever and yes that would totally work. I did try a similar solution (just putting some random thing I found to keep the clips opened). As a heads up, this seems to work exclusively on Android so Razer Edge will effectively work, but PC wouldn't, as a heads up. Thanks for engaging!
Does it fit to nintendo switch?
It does not, the Switch is a bit too thick and technically it wouldn't work either, except maybe if you're running Android on your Switch. Cheers!
Can this fit on an ASUS ROG Phone 8?
I haven't found info on it yet.
Yes it can, should be glorious with one too!
@@GameTechTalk Have you tried it yet? I recently have info from a friend who said that the Camera Bump make it won't fit perfectly.
@@RahardiPratomo Oh I'm sorry, I thought you meant from a software and drivers kind of thing. I didn't take into account the physical notion. I do not have the ROG 8 to test, I do have an older model but the cameras is not the same array. Sorry for my misunderstanding.
@@GameTechTalk Thank you for your info, Sir. If you happen to have an ROG Phone 8 in hand, please do test it. Kinda wondering whether I should buy this or not.
@@RahardiPratomo Someone said there was an issue with the camera bump. Unfortunately, I do not have a ROG Phone 8 to test, sorry.
They always forget to make these more thick cause by them being so thin you can not hold them for to long or your hands cramp fast,I don't get the hand cramp using a xbox one or playstation controller
Yeah that's mainly why I'm not a fan of that category type of controller, I usually cramp too but didn't with this one. The ergonomics really caught me offguard! Cheers :)
Their CEO is not even 20? Can you say Bank of Daddy. Bloody brilliant if you have the means lad.
I don't know the story entirely but they published a video 7 months ago approximately and he was 18 then based on the title. I'm pretty sure I saw him during a GameSir stream and he seemed very VERY connected to his product. A passionate individual really that knows his audience. Cheers!
Woulda bought it if it was iOS compatible
Yup, I feel like it would've been a fantastic controller for iOS indeed. I just think GameSir is not too keen on the MFi tax and releasing an Apple-centric product without paying that is definitely not a good idea for the brand. I do think they should've added a spoof mode like they did the G8 and that would've fixed the issue. Of course no screen mapping cause it's iOS but still, it would've been a great controller for everything.
@@GameTechTalk Even without remapping it would have been good as certain things like PPSSPP for ios allow you to remap within the emulator itself
Nice
Very nice! It's always to be pleasantly surprised by a product you did not realize was going to deliver on things you weren't even expecting them to, that's that controller for me. :)

Don't get why these companies don't also think of tablet users when they design these gadgets ...
I wonder too. But I think we are seeing the change mainly due to the existence of mods on some controllers and the interest that this specific aspect generated. Also from a hardware perspective, making one for the largest tablets do seem like a potential risk so I'm guessing some of them are really "careful". But I hope more manufacturers get on that, we need options!
@GameTechTalk they could try test the market for 8-9" tablets, they are plenty out there, most powerfull that I think are ipad mini and legion tab
i'm using a 8,7" tablet with a D8 controller that I got from aliexpress that cost me like 30$, would like to buy something more expensive with more features, but as I said, the controller market for tablets its to small
Has anyone tried to use this with their iPhone 15 pro max?
It doesn't work on iOS devices at all. That MFi barrier is closed shut. I tested it on both a 14 Pro Max and my brother's 15 Pro Max earlier today. That's not to say that a future update couldn't address that but safe to say it is unlikely and even if it did, screen mapping is not supported on iOS at all. I hope this helps, cheers!
This is just Bluetooth it say android but it should work with apple
It doesn't. It doesn't even work on PC. Why that is? I couldn't tell you. Going off of logic, GameSir might be tapping into an obscure Android API for their controller to work their but nowhere else? I just don't know how else that would work on Android but not even get picked up by Steam, and anyone that knows knows that Steam is like the absolute best in controller compatibility, but not this one. Cheers!
Just get turtle beach atom
I do have a review planned on one actually. Cheers and thanks for engaging!

gamesir x4 or gamesir g8???
I think it would greatly depend on the types of game you play and the device you’ll be playing them with but if I’m being subjective, I’d go Galileo G8. It’s still very much a beast of a mobile telescopic controller.
