Brilliant video MrBallen, another winner! X

I know I just said â2 to 3 times per weekâ for the first time on this video, but itâs been coming for the last few weeks.
Standards are getting higher for stories, and Iâm spending more time researching to do a better job telling them. (For reference it takes 20-30 hours for me to create a video, that is then edited by Wes and Tori for another 7-10 hours)
Overall I believe the videos are improving, even if they are coming out at a slightly less frequent pace.
We love making videos and have no intention of stopping anytime soon so donât view this âdowngradeâ as a sign of anything bad on the horizon!!!

Thank you for taking time out of your week to entertain us allđ
Just builds the anticipation more. đ
I feel bad for Robert. He had to deal with the guilt that he had unknowingly murdered someone and was exiled from society for a crime he didnât even intentionally commit.
I feel bad for the guy who was murdered probably for no reason at all since Robert woke up out of his sleep in the cell and started âshootingâ at the guards.
@@Cervantesbracetty Oh yeah, I definitely feel bad for the guy too, was murdered by someone who wasnât even awake. He likely had a whole family.

I like how Mr Ballen explains everyday items and doesn't assume you will know. I really appreciate that.
Yeah gotta make the disturbing stories very easy to understand for all audiences
Just like in games, no word here is being said that has no importance to the story sometime later.

Poor dude, at least he was honest.

đ I didn't do anything
Seemed fishy how he just woke up grabbed the revolver and shot immediately. The day of the killing he did other stuff first. Unless⊠he wants to murder while sleepwalking
U ruined it for međ
Man the 2nd story was wild. Talk about sleeping with the enemy. I first heard this story on Beyond Belief Fact or Fiction. Those that sleepwalk are fully capable of eating, talking, driving etc while completely asleep.
I myself and my dad were sleepwalkers when younger. My uncle once caught me sleepwalking and about to leave the house. He tried to keep me safe. However I pinned him against the wall and was aware of his presence. He kept tabs on me while I walked around the neighborhood. He's former military and seen things. But said me sleepwalking and overpowering him terrified him. He likened me to a dangerous tiger. I feel for the guy in the second story. The most dangerous enemy is one within.
I've definitely made myself a bowl of ceral while sleepwalking, talked to my mom, then went back to bed.
My daughter once made a sandwich, ate it, took a shower- all while sleep walking.
How does that work? Are you aware you are doing it in the moment? Are your eyes open partially?
â@@Eli-xf1enNo one really knows how sleepwalking works. No I wasn't aware. I was completely asleep.
I feel bad for both Robert, the Detective, and his victim. Robert didn't know what was going on because he was sleepwalking. After catching so many murderers, he caught and turned himself in.
He was an honest man. He might have been of continuing use to society if a way was found to stop his sleepwalking.
If I were one of the cops watching over him when he was in a cell with a gun loaded with blanks, I still would have jumped 5 feet up just seeing and hearing it.
The whole thing was sad.
I wonder what kind of hangover Olivia had when she changed her diet.
get a slice of bread every time she gets into one of those withdraws.
"IT FEELS LIKE I'VE BEEN DRUNK FOR FOURTEEN YEARS! AND I'VE JUST STOPPED DRINKING!"
Shaking off sugar and simple carbs is like an addition
Miserable I should think...upside slice of bread and happy
đ
As a sleepwalker, that second story is my biggest nightmare. No pun intended.
Knaas
Jesus that does sounds horrible to deal with. the only personal experience i have with sleep walking is when i woke up and i i was standing in front of my bathroom door. but if cases can get that extreme that you could kill someone ,why not just tie yourself to bed.
I used to sleepwalk up until about 16 years old. but when i did they were moderate a lot of time it was because i had to go to the bathroom and i would pee on the floor in the bathroom or when we were camping i peed in my aunts camper.
@@gospodintokarev The "Brewery Syndrome" chick is the first story. She eats carbs and her body turns it into alcohol.
Though Agnes Eriksson biggest fear is killing someone while sleepwalking, since she has the sleepwalker condition.
The sad thing is that so few understand sleepwalking! I did it a few times as a mid-teen but not (as far as I know) until I was in my thirties when I had a bout of it and then several years later. What those had in common were at the times they happened, I was under a lot of stress over which I had no control. If one does not live alone, it can be a non-problem but if we live alone, we have little or no way of knowing it happened. I can remember in my fifties waking up one morning with my legs aching like I had been on a long walk. Though there was no evidence I ever left the house, I will never know for certain.
My youngest son sleepwalked when he was around ten. We did not realize it until we heard him open the front door! We then installed a chain lock at the top of the door (beyond his reach) so if he tried to leave the house, we would be awakened.
As those who have dealt with it know, it can be a bit scary and can be dangerous as well. The sleepwalker must have ingrown cautions to not put self into dangerous situations such as walking into traffic.
After confessing to a murder
"We won't kill you"
Confesses again
"We still won't kill you"
Confesses yet again
"Ok, now it's wrong"
Iâm wondering if itâs because the victim was a child and in his foster care, those likely wouldâve added additional charges to the crime
@@myyoutube129 Possible. He just wanted to die, not rot in prison.

That would be some wicked DTs
I was thinking that too, did she have to go to detox I wonder?
Makes me want a beer just thinking about it
â@@PheOfTheFaeI was so interested after this video I read a medical article about it. Apparently, yes, sometimes they need to be put on benzos to prevent withdrawals. What was interesting to me is that even though it's fungus in their gut producing alcohol from carbs, and even after getting rid of that fungus with medications, a lot of patients after going on a low carb diet have really strong cravings for alcohol. Some of them go on to become actual alcoholics after going on a low carb diet. So yeah, basically you have the brain of an alcoholic even without drinking at all.

The police weren't smart. They should have kept saying "no" to the death penalty to see if he would confess to any other murders, even though he might have caught on.
They probably couldnât âlegallyâ do it because for the third confession they had to find a loophole but only that one time, it is sad however weâll never know of course
They can lie in interviews, legally.
Or they could've simply said " Confess to as many as you can/did and we'll try our best to get you the death penalty "
That would be the court system. the police don't hand down sentences. Apart from that, you're right.
But since he wanted to die, it seems the zodiac thing makes sense, he wanted to go to his slaves he amessed in his live. (In 1 of his letters he claimed that everyone he killed, is gonna be his slave after his dead)
I've had a problem with sleep walking my entire life and honestly, going off of what my family has told me I've done over the years and me having absolutely NO memory of any of it.. I feel like it is definitely possible.

Why don't they use DNA from other cases and ask the daughter if they were living in other areas where there were unsolved murders??

He's a con artist! He knew all he had to do was pretend to sleepwalk again in order to get out of the crime! He brilliantly incepted into everyone's imagination the idea of it occurring due to sleepwalking. After that first visit to the scene he realized there was no easy way out so he went home and took a bath while thinking about how he would weasel out of the murder. It's like a killer participating in a search party for one of their victims.
Dude just had a good plan to get hooked up with a farm
@@en16ma_music You're just plain wrong. You can do a lot while sleepwalking. I lived in a multi-story house when I was a kid. My mom said I walked downstairs one night in the middle of the night, had a conversation with her, and then went back upstairs to sleep. It wasn't the only time and my dad "woke me up" several times in the morning where I was still asleep. I actually woke up later and asked him why he didn't wake me up. There's even an episode of Forensic Files that proved a man killed his wife while sleepwalking, too.
It makes no sense to implicate yourself in a murder when you could have easily let it remain unsolved. Get a clue.
Thank you for that story about the woman with the rare condition of carbs converting into alcohol. I've never been a heavy drinker, also had a high tolerance to alcohol. I was recently diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver. Also I had all my teeth removed and stopped eating bread due to my change in diet I have noticed that I am feeling a lot better. This information may explain my health problems.
I grew up around real alcoholics. Had nightmares about dying in a drunk crash into my 30's. I will leave a date who drinks and intends to drive after. i won't drive after 1 beer. I don't hunt with anyone who drinks a single beer. i am not better than anyone, i just hate alcohol that much.
I hate alcohol as well; grew up in an alcoholic household as well. I detest the shit. No one needs to be able to consume a beverage that can impair oneâs ability to such an extent as alcohol, and it can be bought while you take your kids to Chuck E. Cheese (beer)
Weâve accepted it to be okay as a society. You cannot go to a lake without watching people drinking and swimming. None of that would be acceptable to do on cocaine or heroin âpeople might not understand the risk they runâ. Thatâs a load of bullshit. Our society has made it ACCEPTABLE, not tolerable, but ACCEPTABLE and NORMAL to be impaired from alcoholic beverages. But ohhhh no, the guy down the street gets caught with two joints just in his possession, not even smoking them, and not being impaired and that guy gets âintent to distributeâ (this is a true story). I had two rolled joints on me and they tried to say I was a drug dealer. I was at a bar, I was not drinking, I hadnât even smoked ANY marijuana all day. So itâs okay for everyone to be stumbling out of the bars and to their cars. I was designated driver. I had the two joints rolled for when I got home to relax. I just forgot I had them in my bag still. I rolled them prior to going out that night. I didnât even plan going out. Someone called and asked if I wanted to shoot some pool. I said yeah. Unconscious behavior (or whatever the broad term is for being mentally asleep but physically doing things) is fascinating to me. Robert is not the first case of sleep killing I've seen. I've also seen a video of someone sleep eating. If I remember the backstory correctly, the man's wife was frustrated with food being eaten and she accused her husband of eating them, and he refuted it, so she set up a camera and recorded him eating, or at least making a sandwich, while asleep.
wow, definitely a more PG comment than I thought it was gonna be. Maybe I have been watching too much Ballen lately but I thought you were gonna say the husband ate the wife in his sleep hahaha
I sleep eat. More accurately I sleep cook. One morning I got up and couldn't find my pillow. I went in the kitchen and there was a frying pan with half-eaten bacon and eggs with a fork. Damn, that cop interviewing him should of told him the only way he could get the death penalty was to confess every crime he committed.

I don't know what the whole secrecy was about. I mean, if you want the death penalty, and you're willing to confess as much as it takes to get it, then why not confess to everything? What does he gain out of keeping quiet? It's not like he wanted freedom... and after confessing to multiple murders, it's not like he was trying to save any relationships. I thought it'd be even better for his rep to be the most notorious serial killer or something.
Obviously I'm wrong, but if anyone can shed some light as to why, I'd appreciate it. I just don't understand why he'd be dumb to confess to the rest. Why not go out "proud" and rack up the numbers for his own twisted glory, so to speak?
He probably enjoyed The feeling of all those murders never getting solved. Or he knew it didnt matter because he was about to end it all and The victims were already dead.
Iâm such a true crime nerd, but one thing I love is that MrBallen hardly ever covers cases that I already knew of..
Ikr. You know what I like about his coverage? Is that when he tells the story, he does it in a way that makes it seem like you're being told something new only to find out in the big reveal at the end that it was a story you were already supposed to be familiar with.
Am just like "woah, how did it I not see that coming?"
I enjoyed All 3 Stories Mr.Ballen.

Great show as always... the moment you opened up on #3... I had never heard of this and I would have thought I would considering I was born in 76. So I paused your presentation... found a copy of that episode and I will not give any spoilers... I invite everyone to do the same... pause it before hearing the rest of the story and watch that show... there are several on YT. I guessed correctly... I wont say any more as it might spoil it. Thank you for bringing awareness to Auto-Brewery Syndrome. I have a friend who has it, and he can't drive anymore, he can only eat certain foods (to keep the "brewery" in his belly under control), and often has drunk episodes. He hasn't consumed alcohol for years. It's the weirdest thing, and kind of sad, honestly.
It doesn't have to be sad. Many people don't drive and can't eat certain foods. As long as he has good people like you to support him, he is fine, that is what truly matters in the end.
And to think- a lot of ppl spend a lot on something this condition renders for free
My friend clem has autobrewery, he has known about it since he was young. He eats a strict diet and has limited to no incidents

As a former foster child myself I'm heart broken. That poor kid was sent to that disgusting man for protection and love, but what that poor kid got was torture. The system is broken and so many kids get abused and murdered because they get placed with sick people who only are in it for the money. Foster kids are not a source of income. Don't use them for money. They are human beings that have already been dealt a fucked up life, and they need love. Protection and someone to actually be there for them. Ive heard is many of these stories where the are kids taken away from their families because they were unsafe, just to get put in another place that is unsafe.
There are some amazing foster parents out there and I thank you will all my heart for what you do. And for those that take in these already broken children and break them even more hell is waiting for you. And I pray you all get what you deserve!
May that poor boy find peace. đą
I was a foster kid in Florida for 2 years and I gotta say that there wasn't 1 good family. When I wasn't being bullies by black kids for being white I was fighting off peedos from my sister and I. I got moved to 4 separate houses because I wouldn't be a servant to these peoples desires. My sister and I were just a paycheck to these people. I am convinced that peedos work high up in foster care or else something would of been done years ago, I am now 29. I was 9 then. NO hate towards black kids cause they were all fucked up anyways in worse situations but those predators need to be dealt with no one at the offices would even listen to us. Very troubling how a million kids go missing from foster care every year and no one cares
On the flip side, my older sister got into foster care one time with her ex husband. They all did their best for the boy. We all did, extended family and all. He rejected it and threw it in our faces however. This is what troubles me the most tho. There are situations such as yours and the boy that got murdered paired in similar parallel with the boy my sister fostered. Putting that together I think is what makes the foster system as a whole so fucked up. You got these self-righteous assholes who use kids as a paycheck and ruin their minds to a point that when they come to a good home like my sister and my family and I that they don't trust us and end up becoming a mentally ill adult because of it. It really hurts me in the heart hearing this but please know there are good people still out there. Least I know we country folk are đ may the boy find peace and may you find peace kind sir. I am proud of u if no one else is for sticking up for your sister and would be tickled as a pig in slop if you'd mssg me back đ
@Shailon Noelle
Sorry to hear that but please don't misrepresent all foster families. My wife and I are foster parents and we care very deeply for all of the kids that have been in our home.
@@crock30able she is not misrepresenting, she just addresses the alarming issue in foster care system.
@@zeuxlaught2797 she is speaking in hyperbole, most foster families I know are not doing it for the money. You get like$450 a month. Especially right now, if you are having to get formula and diapers you are probably in the negative.
There certainly are problems, but disparaging all foster families isn't right. The majority of them are in it for the right reasons, especially in Florida where the money is only supplemental.
To many of his stories hit home, I have auto brewery, I don't drink, never liked it, it wasn't until I was talking to my doctor one day and said the reason I never liked drinking is sometimes just out of the blue I feel drunk without drinking, there had just been a man in Seattle that had this happen and it had been on the news my doctor put 2 and 2 together.

MrBallen, please talk about the recent serial killer case we had in Brazil, one man was able to hide in the woods for 20 days with 200+ cops looking for him after commiting murder, rape and other crimes his name was LĂĄzaro Barbosa.
@UC6rm5hUiMdzyjK6XtsNtNsQ It is really recent but since the criminal ended up dead I guess there wont be a lot of new information.
You could combine it with other stories about Brazil ... the cannibal bakery case (Jorge Beltrao Negromonte da Silveira) is probably the most horrifying. Our housekeeper at the time actually knew one of the victims.

Nope. You're not alone. He's so good at storytelling I don't want to be distracted by any thing else.
I don't know how you could find anything, as when he speaks, I become entranced
No you are not the only one. I used to wait for the videos to come out so I would be able to have a chance. I would be notified of a new video that HAD been posted usually within 15 minutes, watch it, go to comments and it would already be found. One day I went to my subscriptions and saw a MrBallen video appear saying 354 people watching. I selected it and it started in the middle of the story. I rewound to what I thought was the beginning but it was a Test Pattern for 2-3 minutes prior to the story. I said to myself this is my chance for GLORY. I quickly forwarded to find the beginning and watched the 21 minute video and still spaced out looking for it. I went to the comments and it had ALREADY been found 20 minutes earlier!! That's being found and posted by the time the story is done. If I didn't stand a chance with all of that going for me, minus the spacing out, which impossible for a MrBallen story by the way, you don't stand a chance either but that's just my opinion.
Definitely not alone! I always forget to watch for the secret!
No you are not, I don't even try, it takes away from the story, when I have done it so I don't do it, so I don't forget, I just choose not to try.

Where is the information about the detective story coming from? I tryed to Google it
Sad that that guy on the beach wouldnt've gotten killed if the detective wasn't brought in to investigate those missing sailors.

I still want to know what happened to those missing sailors
The detective didn't need to live in exile. He just needed to live with no access to a gun.
But there are always, knives, rocks,a lead pipe,a baseball bat .....
@@lovinitall6639 But he never specifically grabbed any of those, and a gun is the most dangerous, even having a knife it gives the victim time to run away as he's probably too tired to even chase after them, same goes with other things you mentioned
Exactly! To be extra safe, they could have made arrangements to have him sleep in prison. In fact, this kind of punishement exists in Germany, it's called "offener Vollzug", and it means that during daytime, people can go to work and all that, but they spend their nights in prison.

that last bit reminded me, has MrBallen ever covered what happened to Dorothy Kilgallen? The real question is how does someone who was once on the fbi most wanted list get a foster kid?
Believe it or not they don't really do a lot of checks because there are too many kids in the system that need somewhere to go... I grew up in the foster care system and let me tell you it can be downright terrifying... All types of abuse and I was also in one where my foster mother was into Satanism and black magic... Its really sad
And did he have the foster kid before the AMW?
Danny wasnât a foster kid of Edâs he was a foster kid at another home but that person unexpectedly died . Danny was close to Edâs boys age and were friends and He really admireed and looked up to Ed and actually had Ed adopt him but I think he was already over the age of 18 . @@dislikemyvideos7993 When I was around 7~8 I had frequent night terrors (different than nightmares) which typically causes a child to sit up and scream/thrash around in their sleep but I had a unique spin on mine because I also slept walk simultaneously, this caused me to FULL SPRINT up and down the hallways screaming at the top of my lungs in the middle of the night. Needless to say this scared the shit out of my family and they nearly called a priest to exorcize me. It always blew my mind that I never tripped, slipped or ran into anything during these episodes.
Later on in my early teenage years this type of sleep walking briefly returned except instead of sprinting I was walking up to my moms room and clawing at the base of the door. My older brother found me, asked what I was doing and I responded "mom is in the floor" which properly freaked him the hell out. I can still remember all of these things happening but while it was happening I was more or less just watching it unfold like a dream, as if my ego wasn't present (I was asleep after all).
I've also experienced plain old sleep walking where I have no memory of it and I simply relocated in my sleep, one of my favorite times was falling asleep in the basement where my room was and waking up in the living room which I would have to of gone up 2 sets of stairs, we had just recently moved in too so it was still somewhat unfamiliar terrain.
