About Below Deck Mediterranean:
The azure waters and ancient ruins of Athens, Greece set the scene as Capt. Sandy returns to steer her team through a season brimming with fresh and formidable challenges. Between eccentric guests, an abundance of late-night demands that require intervention and a never-before-seen mechanical issue that orders all hands on deck, the crew faces tumultuous waves from the start.
Back on board the 180-foot M/Y Mustique, a series of initial hurdles sets the crew off on the wrong foot. Amidst a saga of delayed provisions, managing a complicated interior department and a medical emergency, Aesha strives to ensure the guests are treated to a five-star service experience. Ellie doesn't seem to be able to tell the truth. Brie is doing all she can to keep peace, and Ellie just stirs the pot. For someone who doesn't even know her job and treats Brie like a runner for her use, she sure is on a undeserved power trip.
Ellie got so aggressive she put hands on Bri. She pushes the situation to breaking point when Bri is just trying to do as best she can and feels like Ellie is deliberately doing things to make that harder. Aesha said straight that Ellie had time to get the cabins done, so why didn’t she do it?

She lashes out and bites with her venom, then immediately retreats and plays the victim. There have been several moments where the camera caught that but played it down. the "burn book" was for Bri's protection not a weapon to use against Ellie. And Ellie DID sabbotage Bri.

Aesha’s been the one doing all the work - so I give her a pass for not playing Sherlock as she can’t even get a lunch break in. Both of them are incapable - and she has one less stew then 4 person team that ran this same boat last season.
@@mariat6171 neither of them can be trusted for quality or service. Ellie’s commented saying she was a spa stew w/ no service experience and Bri is hopeless in laundry. Housekeeping is such a small aspect of being a stew. Look back at any other season - or even last season with Fraser. His stews did a LOT more and he could trust them to work independently without going behind them. The normal staffing of a boat this size in the real world is 5. 4 with Tumi last season on this boat(2 of hers were nightmares but highly experienced ones) and she barely managed it. Productions clearly left Aesha down 1 body to screw with her. We can agree to disagree but I give her a pass with these 2.
I think Aesha could have done more to diffuse the issues: she should have had them switch cabins earlier on and when talking with them - make sure that they Ellie knows being second doesn't mean you are necessarily the boss of the 3rd. Plus when Sandy said Aesha needed to train Bri a bit more in laundry she didn't even do that - she just went to her in the cabin and told her to stop making mistakes. Aesha is good at her job but as a manager she's not the best - she's conflict avoidant and likes to be everyone's friend.
Right maybe there shouldn’t be a second stew because elli couldn’t train her, Bri did not respect the hierarchy. Aesha is not training her, Elli actually has to clean up the mess..do work for two.

Really, Sandy? Aesha is doing everything she can to keep the peace? She had one weak conversation telling the stews to speak kindly to each other, which clearly didn't land, then brushed it off the rest of the time. She took no action to fix this situation and just let it fester and escalate. It didn't even occur to her to switch their cabins to take some of the pressure off. I love Aesha, but she does not have the skills to manage problem employees. Just hoping they will grow the fuck up is not a plan.

We did see Ellie mess with the laundry last episode (writing the wrong name on the tag - whether on purpose or by mistake) so who knows how much involvement she has in Bri’s failure.

I am extremely impressed with Sandy this season, it feels like the first season in a long time where she is showing what an amazing leader she is and how well she directly responds to conflicts within her team. I'm usually team anti Sandy and this season has really changed my views on her and her effectiveness as a leader.

Captain Sandy saying she prefers to let her chief stew handle issues between the interior staff is basically avoiding having to actually do her job. SHE is the head honcho and she needs to be on top of what is happening on her boat. We see her not being present like this on all the episodes. Bri keeps screwing up; she loses or misplaces peoples' clothes; Captain Sandy repeatedly is out of clean clothes herself; and yet she does nothing about it. Bri sleeps on the floor of the guys room ....putting THEM out and NOTHING is done about this behaviour. Bri went after "the deck hand" knowing Ellie liked him and when Ellie finally has her own hook up, Bri goes crying LITERALLY to Captain Sandy with trumped up complaints about Ellie If the captain had been more plugged in as to what was happening with her crew, this would have been nipped in the bud a lot sooner. Captain Sandy doesn't seem to realize or care, that the buck stops with her!

Captain Sandy handled this terribly. When Bri went to her she basically told her to “suck it up”. Then when they said it was “She said she said” all they had to do was watch the videos. Sandy “yawn” plays to the show…they want the drama so Sandy gives it to them!
Bri is all weepy in front of Aesha and Capt Sandy but when they aren't around she's f bombing and quite aggressive - for someone who can't do laundry right she needs to shut up and take a seat.
