Seriously, not a day has gone by since before over 4 years ago, when I accidently heard Dimash sing this song by opening the "wrong" video, that I don't listen to this song several times and don't get completely overwhelmed emotionally, just like the first time. Of course, this is true about other Dimash's songs as well, but this one (although another performance) just happens to be the one that introduced him to me.
I accidentally discovered Dimash 5 days ago and have been watching every video of his that I can access. Obviously his voice is amazing and what he does with it is incredible. His performances are mesmerising. I really enjoy watching his audiences' reactions to him. Women and men cry. I must see him perform. I'm sure I won't be the only 70+ year old in the audience! @@brianhenn9872 I don't know if you guys are from the west but I am from the UK and since discovering Dimash 2 years ago I've discovered how much we in the west differ from the rest of the world in being resistant to new music, whether it's from outside of our own countries or just outside of a genre that we are familiar with. The thing I find truly great with him is that he refuses to tie himself into a genre, he just experiments with sound and being an independent artist he can do exactly what he likes when he likes. We never know what he's going to come up with next.

What can I say about Dimash that I haven't written in my Unforgettabale Day comment. He is simply indescribable, unique and an incredibly great and versatile artist😅. SOS is a song in the rock-opera „Starmania“ from 1978. The first who presented this song was the French singer and songwriter Daniel Balavione. SOS was Dimashs‘ first performance of the China competition (in 2017) and was his first appearance in this show. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among other countries. He was still completely unknown in China. Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. When he woke up the next morning after his first performance of SOS he was a megastar in China and even found bodyguards outside his hotel room. SOS’ first video had 600 million views when it aired. He was just 22 years old at the time. I think it was very diffiult for him at the beginning. You have to imagine, until this competition in China in 2017 he never was alone. Dimash, like many other Kazakhs, has the tradition of living under one roof with the whole family all together. He lives with his grandparents, parents, a sister, a brother an other relatives in the same house. And now he had to go to China alone, didn‘t know the country, didn‘t know the language, didn‘t know the traditions or livestyle and up to that point he spoke (almost) no English, except maybe „Thank you“ and „My name is Dimash“. Only one interpreter came along and that at the age of 22. He was almost a kid to me then (my son is 20 so I can imagine…). The other competitiors might not have taken Dimash seriously at first because of his age and that they didn’t know him but that quickly changed after the performance of SOS, as you can see. Through his honest, cheerful and open nature, he found friends very quickly. Contacts that still exist today. Please also react to The Singer competition as soon as you can. He is born in May 24 1994. He is from Kazakhstan and has been music schooled sense 5 years old and told the teacher that the piano was out of tune! He sings about 7 octaves or so! No one knows he is still learning. He sings higher than the piano can go! He also writs and compose own songs, plays bunch of instruments including Dombra there own Kazakh instrument that has a sound you can’t believe and onley 2 strings! He also sings in about 14 (Kazakh, Turkish, Usceck, Russian, Ukranian, Serbien, Bulgarian Chinese , Italien, Spamish, French, English, German, Japanese ) languages and speaks 3 so far (Kazakh, Russian and English). Dimash has an excellent education: he graduated from the College of Music with a degree in Opera Singing, university of arts in the specialty "Estrada and jazz vocals", and on June 18, 2020, he completed a master's degree in Composition. He graduated with a degree in opera from the music school at the University of Aktobe (2014), a degree in pop/jazz from the National Arts University in Nur Sultan (2018), just completed his Master's degree in composition (June 2020) and have started his PhD. He have done some contests in his life but the one I think got the worlds intension is "The Singer" (Allso called "I am a singer" or "Singer") from China in 2017. The Singer is a program for established Chinese singers to face off against each other invites only in a competition where votes were cast by an audience of 500. Dimash Qudaibergen was a last-minute inclusion (a 'dark horse'). But his performance of 'SOS D'un Terrien En Detresse' electrified the audience, his fellow competitors and the viewers who numbered in the billions (this program was one of the most-watched in China and outside). They also got him the nickname "Imported little brother" the day after the show. They also had to get bodyguard for Dimash do to the famous over night both in China and also the world. Dimash wasn’t really prepared for that. He had come to China at 22 years young man by him self and didn’t know the language. They hade contracted him for 2 shows because they didn’t think he cold go further than that. He didn’t think they would like him. So he was nervous this performers that he had also to start the show with. But they hade to change that do to his famous over night. Dimash has on several occasions dedicated this song to someone he knew that had passed away, it’s such a powerful song, and that is why you have such changes in vocal tone and the range.
He is more an artist than singer because he is a creator. With the help of his ranges, techniques, genres, styles and multiple vocal colours combination, he creates different landscapes to the audience everytime he sings. And it was such a vivid visualisation too, each song’s different one from another. From the lush of green valleys to an ancient China to snowy solitude mountain to dark empty space to the gate of heaven and so on. Dears would understand those references to which songs specifically 😅but I let you find out.

He sings, acts, knows martial arts, speaks several languages, plays a whole lot of instruments, and he is the most loving humanitarian in the world of music that promotes and fights for peace and unity around the world. His "Dears" absolutely love him, and he gives it back in a million different ways. In many stage performances his massive audience sings with him, and he encourages them to. Dimash...the greatest vocalist I have ever heard in my 81+ years on this planet. My only negative in this version is that the music overpowers Dimash, and too many of his musical subtleties are lost. His original 2017 performance is still the best, IMHO. Nice reaction.

@@brianhenn9872 I don't know if you guys are from the west but I am from the UK and since discovering Dimash 2 years ago I've discovered how much we in the west differ from the rest of the world in being resistant to new music, whether it's from outside of our own countries or just outside of a genre that we are familiar with.
The thing I find truly great with him is that he refuses to tie himself into a genre, he just experiments with sound and being an independent artist he can do exactly what he likes when he likes. We never know what he's going to come up with next.

SOS is a song in the rock-opera „Starmania“ from 1978. The first who presented this song was the French singer and songwriter Daniel Balavione.
SOS was Dimashs‘ first performance of the China competition (in 2017) and was his first appearance in this show. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among other countries. He was still completely unknown in China. Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. When he woke up the next morning after his first performance of SOS he was a megastar in China and even found bodyguards outside his hotel room. SOS’ first video had 600 million views when it aired. He was just 22 years old at the time.
I think it was very diffiult for him at the beginning. You have to imagine, until this competition in China in 2017 he never was alone. Dimash, like many other Kazakhs, has the tradition of living under one roof with the whole family all together. He lives with his grandparents, parents, a sister, a brother an other relatives in the same house. And now he had to go to China alone, didn‘t know the country, didn‘t know the language, didn‘t know the traditions or livestyle and up to that point he spoke (almost) no English, except maybe „Thank you“ and „My name is Dimash“. Only one interpreter came along and that at the age of 22. He was almost a kid to me then (my son is 20 so I can imagine…). The other competitiors might not have taken Dimash seriously at first because of his age and that they didn’t know him but that quickly changed after the performance of SOS, as you can see. Through his honest, cheerful and open nature, he found friends very quickly. Contacts that still exist today.

It's so fun for us "Dears" (that’s what Dimash calls his fans because he loves us as a dear family) to see how people react to him.
Some info about Dimash. He is born in May 24 1994. He is from Kazakhstan and has been music schooled sense 5 years old and told the teacher that the piano was out of tune! He sings about 7 octaves or so! No one knows he is still learning. He sings higher than the piano can go! He also writs and compose own songs, plays bunch of instruments including Dombra there own Kazakh instrument that has a sound you can’t believe and onley 2 strings! He also sings in about 14 (Kazakh, Turkish, Usceck, Russian, Ukranian, Serbien, Bulgarian Chinese , Italien, Spamish, French, English, German, Japanese ) languages and speaks 3 so far (Kazakh, Russian and English).
Dimash has an excellent education: he graduated from the College of Music with a degree in Opera Singing, university of arts in the specialty "Estrada and jazz vocals", and on June 18, 2020, he completed a master's degree in Composition. He graduated with a degree in opera from the music school at the University of Aktobe (2014), a degree in pop/jazz from the National Arts University in Nur Sultan (2018), just completed his Master's degree in composition (June 2020) and have started his PhD.
He have done some contests in his life but the one I think got the worlds intension is "The Singer" (Allso called "I am a singer" or "Singer") from China in 2017. The Singer is a program for established Chinese singers to face off against each other invites only in a competition where votes were cast by an audience of 500.
Dimash Qudaibergen was a last-minute inclusion (a 'dark horse'). But his performance of 'SOS D'un Terrien En Detresse' electrified the audience, his fellow competitors and the viewers who numbered in the billions (this program was one of the most-watched in China and outside).
They also got him the nickname "Imported little brother" the day after the show. They also had to get bodyguard for Dimash do to the famous over night both in China and also the world. Dimash wasn’t really prepared for that. He had come to China at 22 years young man by him self and didn’t know the language. They hade contracted him for 2 shows because they didn’t think he cold go further than that. He didn’t think they would like him. So he was nervous this performers that he had also to start the show with. But they hade to change that do to his famous over night.
Dimash got many new friends from this show and he said at some point he learned a lot from it to.

If I remember correct he wrote the music to this one when he was 19 years old and lyrics by Oral-kosai Baisengir, who was a poet/lyricist father of a friend of Dimash. Also in this show another contestant "Terry Lin" that was about 51 years young here he considered Dimash a dear friend at this point. But Dimash started telling them al he was his father around episode 9 I think!! That is a big respect and love from his part of the world to call him! Terry was gladly accepting it. They are still that close and also invites each other to there concerts and sometimes singing this song in duet to. They sang it in Jackie Chang movie festival in 2019 and Jackie was choked in how good they were. Terry was known as an alien before Dimash and they have similar vocals to.

He is more an artist than singer because he is a creator. With the help of his ranges, techniques, genres, styles and multiple vocal colours combination, he creates different landscapes to the audience everytime he sings. And it was such a vivid visualisation too, each song’s different one from another. From the lush of green valleys to an ancient China to snowy solitude mountain to dark empty space to the gate of heaven and so on. Dimash Qudaibergen (di-MOSH Koo-dye-BEHR-gen) is from Kazakhstan. He began formal training at age 5 and is professionally trained in Opera and contemporary music as well as musical theater.
His discography covers a number of different genres: pop, R&B, EDM, rock, folk/traditional, neo classical, Opera and even a little rap and hip hop.
He has performed songs in 15 languages.
He speaks four languages: Russian and Kazakh and some English and some Chinese. He is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, songwriter, producer, director and actor. He has his own production company called Dimashali Creative Center. He is 28 years old, 6'3" and it consummate performer.

Every song that Dimash does, even if it is the same one, is never the same. Please keep watching his performances. He sings, acts, knows martial arts, speaks several languages, plays a whole lot of instruments, and he is the most loving humanitarian in the world of music that promotes and fights for peace and unity around the world. His "Dears" absolutely love him, and he gives it back in a million different ways. In many stage performances his massive audience sings with him, and he encourages them to. I give you one more performance and I guarantee you will be a "Dear" too, Sir. :)

Dimash...the greatest vocalist I have ever heard in my 81+ years on this planet. My only negative in this version is that the music overpowers Dimash, and too many of his musical subtleties are lost. His original 2017 performance is still the best, IMHO. Nice reaction.

No, and you won't hear anything like this, anywhere, anytime, unless you're listening to Dimash! 🤣 Dimash was winning virtually every singing competition there was across Eastern Europe, before going to compete in the Chinese 'Singer' competition { see several of his performances there } in 2017, where he gained a few hundred million new fans.
From there he started expanding his touring, and his DQ Brand, into the rest of the world and now has many hundreds of millions of fans from pretty much every country on the planet. He had performed in London on his ARNAU ENVOY Tour and then at the New York Barclay Centre in Jan 2020 and was about to launch a series of Nth American and further European Concert dates when COVID hit. He then concentrated on developing this Digital Concert, and various other projects, including doing movie theme songs, anime, and video's. His international reach has exploded through CZcams etc.
As you point out, as have many others, his music transcends language, cultural and genre barriers, so you don't need the words to appreciate Dimash's music, but they help! Because Dimash is, at heart, a Story-teller. That's why he sings in 14+ languages. But he's more than 'just' a singer. He's also a multi-instrumentalist, a composer and a game-changer.

i remember- 4 years ago when i heard him first time - i was blown - totally gobsmacked- same as you now^^ ... and there is so much to come your way now - be prepared^^ what I love about Dimash : he has definetly the best voice this planet has to offer - BUT he feels music - he is transforming us to next lvls of understanding - he is living music - vocal cords are just an instrument - he is using them in such a perfect way - u wanna believe in angels ^^ he is feeling the notes - he just repeats what he feels ( thats may the simplest way discribing his talent) - i mean - how much does a singer ( classical, havy metal , rock, pop, anything ) struggle to get a message across ?
