this is definitely my favorite use of the “evil superman” trope. just a touch of omni-man with religious overtones makes ikaris the best character in this movie.
Ikaris is made of cosmic powers and sun is also a cosmic power so I think that ikaris will return by getting more powerful as they both are made by arishem
Dumb as shit. He took the name from his son who made the wings to try and spend time with his father. Icarus fell, and Ikaris took his name as a reminder of how he failed humanity and to encourage him to be a hero. In the movie, it’s a dumb joke.

He's filled with emptiness, shame and regret. It was pretty sensible for him wanting to just die right then and there, at the moment when he didn't get a chance to think it through. Besides, this movie basically promotes a bunch of clones sacrifiing billions of planet out there in order to save one pathetic planet, where people kill each other and cause global warming, that they feel attached to. That's rougher than a purposeless, self-loath god committing suicide to me.
