he probably knows about celestial's plan because he has Deviant genes. He wants to prevent total planet destructions by reducing the universe population in half so that it won't kill off the race of species inhabitant on but at the same time delaying the Emergence. Villians are just misunderstood..they see things the "heroes" can't see because they're too focused on "good" and not for the best interest for the future. Such as Iron Mans vision for a world coated with a suit of armor.
The MCU has been pretty good at not making villains shallow and evil just for the sake of an antagonist for the story. Most really good villains view their actions as being good. Basically, they aren't rehashing the old cheesy bond villains. Still, I think they've done a pretty good job of providing the fairly accurate counter argument against a shield around the planet. Namely that at some point some faction of humans would strive to gain power over it and turn it back on earth for their own personal agenda. Project Insight was exactly that type of system built with exactly that idea in mind and yet they had to destroy a perfectly good shield to prevent a faction of humans from wiping out anyone with a view counter to theirs. Also, Edith, when Peter handed control over to numbnuts the phoney baloney. Same thing happened. A perfectly good shield turned back on the planet. Heck, even Steve Roger's was constantly questioning and reevaluating whether he was actually the good guy in the story.
I was hornswoggled by this entire exposition sequence. It's actually my new favorite exposition in any Marvel film. Learning about the Celestials... The visuals of Tiamut exploding out of the Earth.... EPIC
Is it possible Thanos also knew about the life-cycle of Celestials and his plan to erase half of the universe was also an attempt to prevent (or at least stall) the births of them?
Yeah, as you know Thanos is an Eternal who have the Deviant Syndrome. Like Ajak said in the movie, "5 years ago, Thanos delayed the emergence." So Thanos was trying to help. He had a plan but the way he did it was wrong. Arishem told the Eternals not to intefere in human conflicts so that's why Thanos ended up fighting with the Avengers and the Eternals didn't try to stop him too.
@@afiqumair2531 Got a question. Now that we know Eternals aren't an actual evolved race instead purely created by celestials, is Thanos still an 'Eternal'? cos to me with that info Titans seem like a completely separate race.

The first celestials like Galactus survived the death of the previous universe. There is 40 years of Marvel comics and thousand of issues if you want to read up on that.
@Rick Rollins is is obvious, but as I heard, celestials came to Marvel universe from another dimention (before that there was only one being in universe, Knull from Venom stories). Question was about concept of planet-embryo - when it was created?
so let me wrap this thing up bcs I'm not sure. So.. Eternals farming human to feed celestial. since Thanos is deviant and deviant is like an enemy to celestial, isn't that mean thanos want to wipe half of universe to avoid celestial having his dinner right?🧐
well a celestial implants a seed an egg into a planet. That seed or egg feeds off the low level cosmic energy emitted by sentient life till it gathers enough to hatch and kills the planet and everyone on it.
Everyone here talkin’ about “So Thanos was really the good guy!” He used his power to slaughter half the universe instead of, oh, I don’t, SUBDUE THE GODDAMN CELESTIAL FROM EMERGING. Y’all out here makin’ excuses for Thanos because you would do what he did!
If you read the comics, you would realize that the infinity stones doesn't really subdue the older celestials like galactus/arishem that survived the death of the previous universe. Since the stones only works on the beings that are born of the current universe.
So, Earth and planets are all basically Eggs. Is the birth of a Celestial more important than the lives that inhabit the planets? The MCU makes the stakes far too great and nonsensical. Of course the Earth will not be destroyed. And wouldn't the Avengers, X-Men, FF be involved? Again the plot holes persist.
Now that I think about it, Thanos really spared Earth by wiping out half it's population (and the universe). The emergence would've had to wait a couple more thousand years. Arishem was an even bigger threat to Earth than Thanos ever was.
