I know I'm late to reply, but no you're not the only one. The effect wasn't explained very well. There's a red filter applied to the photo - one uniform shade of red - but because your brain knows that things aren't all one color, for example fruits which are usually many different bright colors, the red filter sort of "cancels out" & appears shades of red, pink, grey, etc. It becomes more noticeable if you stare at the picture for a minute or two. You might start seeing bits of other colors pop up where they aren't!
When they uploaded this video the CZcams quality and filter system was different but now they changed it so it’s updated to only reds and pinks

There's a little bit of green above the cup. Put it into paint and color picked it, right on the line of solid yellow and red. So a kind-of mix. It's also close to the center, so it's more grey-ish too.

Has the “only red” image changed for anyone else over time? I used to see all of the greens and yellows pretty clearly. Now everything that doesn’t look brightly red or pink just looks gray to me
It’s interesting, for me it changed right after I saw the video/explanation. First time the green was so obvious to me, I was almost in disbelief when he showed the wheel proving it was just a grey. But the day after I had watched the video for the first time, everything was all of a sudden obviously red (various shades) + grey. I guess once the brain knows the lighting conditions it initially perceived are not “real”, it can see the colors objectively for what they are

You have to actively perceive the greens and yellows, just imagine every fruit as the color they should be. The bananas yellow and the grey underneath them should be green. If you tilt your screen and look at everything (the peachier white skin and the yellow lemons next to the red shiny apples) it should just fall into place. The effect wears off when you look away.
