    I remember that .. what a Day!
I was working, at the time, on one of the the Gold Mines in the Western Transvaal and most of my work mates and colleagues were staunch 'Blou Bull' Supporters with me one of the very few 'Last Outpost of the British Empire' Supporters .. an 'Engelsman' to boot. Was prior to that day, the target of a lot of good-natured ribbing. Give them their due .. a good bunch of 'Dutchmen' 👍. Loftus was for me, one of the best Stadiums to watch Rugby .. even as an opposition supporter. A very tolerant, good humoured bunch of 'die hards' they were.
The Monday morning thereafter, at work, was a sweet one 😁.

I recently moved to Durban. This is the same spot - City Hall - where the Boks stopped on their trophy tour after Rugby World Cup victory number four! How South Africa has changed!
