Jan Smuts and Sailor Malan are the two most unacknowledged, unappreciated and undervalued human beings to have been born, bred and died on South Africa soil. 👍🇿🇦

a beautiful country that has been undermined by its current leadership
After reading his history I wish to know how the Afrikaners regards him?
Possibly not in a good light.
afrikaner here. DF Malan's NP only won the 1948 election by the slimmest of margins & was viewed as extremist by many. Jan Smuts & the SAP had called for the fagan commission at that time to reevaluate segregation & maybe start moving toward a system of rights for all. my grandparents were proud SAP supporters (thus more centrist) like at least 50% of Afrikaners at that time. however, over the next few decades the NP through propaganda + control would destroy the centre and create a nation of Afrikaner nationalists (while ofc there were still some detractors like Beyers Naude, Nico Smit etc.).
As a traitor
His facial features have some slight similarity to Khoi-San people... ?
The Smuts name is associated with being mixed race
