@@Hauntti Thanks. I did some research on him last night. What baffles me is that he was offered a role in a 47 movie, but he refused to play the character because it was written poorly. Awesome dude.

@@mangodip2170 If you want the absolute best Impiral March recording, search YT for the Vienna Philharmonic's one. They are so good that John Williams himself said "wow", at the end of the performance he was conducting.

John Williams is truly a gift to humanity. It's incredible to see Star Wars themed music become more popular than the most famous classic composers.

John Williams is a very respected composer
He is one of the greatest in his field. My greatest respect for John Williams, especially as a Star Wars fan. But popularity is not a yardstick by which art should be measured. He is a good composer. But hey, a whole new universe opens up when you look up at The Planets ;) (by Gustav Holst).
If Bach is still heard after 300 years, Eschenbach is still read after 800 years, that doesn't mean that these are the only works from their time. It means that these works, alongside all the other long-forgotten works, were so significant and memorable that they have survived the centuries. All the works that are popular today would still have to prove that.

Bit of a plagiarist, though; a ton of material for Star Wars is lifted almost note for note from _The Planets_ by Holst.

@@hoon_sol to be fair, George Lucas apparently wanted to use the Planets straight up as the score, but I believe due to copyright laws these heavily inspired pieces were composed instead. He wasn’t trying to pull a fast one. Not to mention he has far more compositions than just Star Wars.

John Williams is the greatest film composer in history. You can instantly tell his works when you hear them. The Olympics, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park, Superman... the list is long.
If he melted all his awards, he could make 10 statues of himself and have enough for a golden soccer ball, that is how long and distinguished his career has been.
Sound quality and separation are phenomenal. Better than CD or iTunes downloads of the same pieces of music.
I love the Danish national anthem.
In all honesty, Denmark actually have several national anthems.
As an original "Trekkie" from when TOS first aired in 1966, i enjoyed this music. Check out the DNSO videos of the themes from Clint Eastwood's spaghetti westerns.

I went to " The music of Star Wars" performed by the Virginia Symphony a few months ago. The conductor came out in a FULL Darth Vader suit (without the helmet of course). He was all the way in during the performance. They also took a few minutes and had a Darth Vader come out with a red lightsaber and everything. The symphonies go ALL the way in to perform Star Wars. I LOVE IT!!!
I was a little disappointed they didn't perform "Duel of the Fates", but I know it's difficult to organize an ENTIRE choir to show up also. Either way, I'm going EVERY May 4th!!!!!

Word of God says that this music is the official Imperial anthem in-universe. Probably the best piece created for the saga, it makes the threat of the empire and the dark side clearly audible and gives you all the right kinds of shivers.

Also known as Darth Vader’s theme. During the prequel trilogy, “Imperial March” is played as Anakin Skywalker goes down the path to become Darth Vader. Examples include Anakin avenging his mother Shmi Skywalker-Lars by massacring the Tuskin Raiders, men, women and children alike, and rebuking the Jedi Council for denying him the rank of Master.
“Imperial March” has also been played at weddings, possibly referencing Anakin Skywalker fostering a romantic relationship with Padmé Amidala. The Jedi are forbidden to foster romantic relationships, as it has been said that romantic relationship leads to the dark side. Hence, Padmé has been criticized for being used as a plot device for Anakin becoming Vader.
