The force is strong with these musicians
I remember sitting in a theater full of people in 1977 as the final credits rolled. No one got up to leave. No one wanted it to end.
That happened in mine and surely in every galaxy theater very very far away.🤩🤩🤩
Me too!
I never want it to end!
One movie and cinema was changed forever.
@@xnaylo335 yes lol no true star wars fan looks past the return of the jedi
The soundtrack alone was already worth the price of the film's ticket
I was 7yrs old, sitting in the theater with my father not expecting that I was going to have a memory that has stayed with me this day. No movie as EVER even come close to the power of this intro. The intro rolls in quietly and then all the sudden, a sledgehammer hits, the Corellian Corvette being assaulted by that Star Destroyer, not a peep from any child during that whole movie. Could not keep my eyes from leaving the screen for a nanosecond.
Yoda will say: "Truly wonderful this music is."
And he's right......
Yoda would reply ( wonderful turn around in your mind Vader, It does)
Enjoy this will I!
I will say that, Yoda can quote me, I don't mind :D
@@conmadben more like enjoy this, i will
1977... I was 10 years old when I watch the first Star Wars movie at the theaters, my brother who was 16 at the time took me. I thought it was the coolest movie that I've ever seen, we both wanted to stay and watch it a second time but we didn't have any money. ( good memories )
I was 8. My uncle took me and my cousins on opening day. I thought it was cool enough but when Leia was introduced I was floored! Her name and mine are close enough that I almost cried. She’s been my idol ever since!
@@lyarnes this is a wonderful story!
i know exactly how you felt!
@@lyarnes I John 5:21 "Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen." To be a child of God we must put Jesus first in our lives. The creator that made us and loves us, not the creation so we can have the fullness of God in our lives.
God rest Carrie's soul and bless you and yours.
I was 4 I think when It came out
To me, there will never be a a film composer as good as John Williams. The man is a musical genius.
1:57 The lower strings and brass + Timpani phrase right there. Fucking hell.
It was fantastic
Some orchestras do this theme ok. But this orchestra does it justice. Well done.
Vienna Philaharmonic & John Williams orchestra is also good, I feel this one is just a little bit softer but it is really accurate
CZcams needs double, triple and quadruple like buttons for pieces like this.
Gone. The Ochestra is bye bye.... Much like the emperor would have enjoyed...
@@frederikhyrup2871 ? What do you mean?

About that they also need triple and quadruple subscribe buttons

May The Force Be With You! Thank You Danish Symphony Orchestra !!💯💯💯💯💯🇺🇸
With that opening fanfare, John Williams established his reputation for the next 500 years.
'One of' The Most Powerful piece's of movie cinema Music-Movie-Magic🎉❤
It's incredible how complex this musical piece is, and most people just recognize it as "The Star Wars Theme" never realizing just how much effort it took to create it. Masterfully done.
Inspired by gustav Holst " the planets"....
And to play it!
@@davidseal8375 ye still amazing
@@davidseal8375 and Korngold's Kings Row theme
@@davidseal8375 oh yes, but that's true for all OST's. The director takes temporary music and tells the composer - I need something like this...
You can see the force flowing through these amazing and dedicated musicians playing this theme!
I'm in my 40's and i still get a buzz from this when it plays.
Just watch the new shitfest of movies and that will calm you right back down :D
You and me both...I still got the soundtrack I bought in 1980, and I treasure that piece of vinyl....
Just watch the new movies and that will kill that buzz pretty fast

I'm 66 and still get that excitement whenever and wherever I hear it!
The talent of these people is world class
I was privileged to see episode 4 when it came out in 1977, i have never been the same since. John Williams music was a huge part of this journey.
Nothing better than great movie music like this!
Listen to those themes and go back in time
All you needed was a big box of popcorn to share with someone special!
I remember when the theaters had ‘ushers’ that would escort people out at the end of the show. The bathrooms would be full of people ready to run back into this movie to see it twice.
In 1977 a was 13 years old and I Watch Star Wars a New Hope with my brother, one of the most important moments of my life, peace, love from Italy
A classic music score is one that can be listened to over and over and over again. It never gets old or tiresome. Such it is with a great deal of John Williams' library of masterpieces. The man is a musical genius. In ANY era. Period.
How awesome must it have been for them to play this song? they all looked like they were so into it
this is exactly what makes exceptional musicians
It’s not a song bruh
this is amazing. it sounds exactly how it should
McAfee yeaah!! Timing is perfect, harmony is perfect, key is perfect!!
True professional artist !!!!!
No the whole damn thing was rushed
@@user_28373
The tempo was a touch fast, but any performer knows that's common with live performances; everyone's adrenaline gets going and the music takes a speedier pace.
I think it works wonderfully with this song, though. It only bothers me with ballads, which lose the emotion at faster tempos.
@@user_28373 you had to ruin it didn't you... I hate people like these
The music o the movies is a large part of the success of the franchise.
I was 7 when SW came out. Dad said "I'm taking you to see a movie tonight". The fact that he was so secretive about it and built it up made me suspicious. Being suspicious made me think it was a trick, and I wouldn't like it. So finally he told me the title.....Star Wars. But because I was already upset and suspicious, I thought the title was about celebrities. "STARS=CELEBRITIES". At that time, Battle of the Network Stars was a big thing on TV. Celebrities competing in sports and games.
So he forced me to go. I threw a tender tantrum. Didn't want to go.
Then I got to the theater, and saw the movie poster. I stood there, mouth wide open, mesmerized. Watched the movie, and was addicted. Later, I had to have every toy, and Star Wars became a big part of my childhood from 1977 to around 1983 when I started to outgrow it.
Now I have SW stuff for fun. And this May, will go to the Star Wars experience at Disney.
that conductor is really feeling it 😂
thats the conductors job
who wouldnt
Always... always.
Who wouldnt x2
The forces, he feel.
Bravo! 52 year-old suddenly transported to Blue Ridge Cinema in May of 1977! Couldn’t stop watching!
Another 1977 10 year old here who also was mesmerized.
I love this conductor. I will never get tired of hearing Star Wars music.
Star Wars, still one of my fav movies of my teenage years would have been half as good without the genius of John Williams. This is wonderful.
A masterpiece, masterfully preformed.
one single word to sum up: "Goosebumps".
15 years old when I first saw Star Wars at the cinema. Absolutely blew me away.
When I hear you all play the music from these fabulous films I am transported back to the happiest time of my life. I still had my family around me and the kids were just the right age to be entranced by the movies and music. I think I have heard the main theme from Star Wars a thousand times, over the years, and it still gives me a thrill as does the music from the other films in your Calaxymphony. Thank you so very much for sharing your marvelous programs on CZcams.
Wow! Just incredible! - I'm back at the old Odeon cinema in Leicester in 1978 with my dad, and my mind is blown. My normally very down to earth, working class dad is awestruck too! The music, the imagery, characters, story, the HEART, the sheer excitement, electricity and good energy that was in the air both in the cinema, and in the streets for this film across all ages was UNIQUE. My dad and I have this as a special moment. The generation that saw this film back in the 70's, when it was fresh were TRULY blessed and I will NEVER forget it!!!
This ORCHESTRA BLOWS ALL OTHERS OUT OF THE WATER. Bravo..BRAVO!! I love that point where you see the 'lead' violinist are watching her 'first' at 4:57 so good , such coordination and team work. Bravo!!!!
I watch it the first week it was out. In full giant screen with dolby surround sound, loud enough to make the building shake.
WOW what an experince and event! It was the only large screen dolby sound theater around and it filled up every showing. With audience fans shouting, booing and cheering it was an unforgettable event!
Still... After all these years of watching Star Wars. Whenever that first note hits. I just get chills down my spine, and my eyes always tears up. Every damn time. And I absolutely love it!!!
4 seconds in I gave this a thumbs up. The triangle did it for me. Seriously, no joke!!

LOL!
Glorious.
One of the best written sheets of music of all time. IMO.
AGREED.
I only get the ASMR sensation from orchestra music and this is a perfect example of that.
First violin produced a quite physical as well as musical performance!

This theme reminds me how much I miss Star Wars, from before Disney took hold of it.
Love those musicians. They really work hard
The original soundtrack LP was a goldmine to me back in 1977. The poster, the liner notes, the film stills, and the music were etched in my mind as a teenager. The 2:08 mark in this video still brings a tear of joy 45 years later. Thanks for this brilliant performance.
Always a joy to watch professional musicians play...
The best Star Wars performance!
Absolutely phenomenal 🎉🎉🎉🎉
That’s definitely a eargasm
violinist in the first row so excited she almost stands up at 0:44
Brings back so many childhood memories and feelings.
John Williams is a legend!
Performed skilfully by the Danish National Symphony Orchestra.
The best version so far!!
I imagine the Classical Composers listening to this .... THANK YOU Master John Williams !! 👏👏👏👏👏👏
May the force be with you all
That transition was SMOOOTH! There is nothing these folks do half way! Infinitely epic.
Let's all take minute to just behold the greatness that is John Williams!!!!!!!!!
One of the greatest pieces of music ever composed. Pierces the soul. 🤗
The greatest film score ever written, there is literally no other choice
This is so great, but I gotta say that the first chair first violin exaggerated movements are the best. I could watch them for 30-40 minutes and be fully entertained. I know why they do it, so no need to explain. It's just fun to watch.
proud is John Williams.
Beyond amazing is all I can say. This orchestra is fantastic
People that got to live through seeing Star Wars coming out for the first time are so lucky
Impressive....most impressive.....OBI-WAN has taught you well
Jumpin' Jesus - these are SO WELL RECORDED, not to mention the orchestra is so ON POINT, everything about this orchestra, I LOVE IT!
The sound technicians and bandcrew are aliens! REALLY!!! Some of these songs sound better than the studio version!
I'm a Joannie Come Lately on commenting here, but can you even imagine the human energy this production consumed? These people must have been totally exhausted after any of these performances, but not wasted! Their efforts have lasted and will last for a very long time!
My five year old self watching Star Wars in '77 and hearing the epic theme will forever be ingrained in my heart.
George Lucas’ jaw must have fallen agape when John Williams first presented this piece to him. I am still blown away 47 years later.
In 1977 composer John Williams created the music for Star Wars and changed the way we listen to the movie themes.
He did that long before that composing TV themes, Time Tunnel, Lost in Space. Basically if it was produced by Irwin Allen...
i love the passion from the musicians, especially from the conductor. I play drums for 5 Years and i want in an orchestra like this, its fuckin awesome
The force of John Williams is strong with them!
Absolutely amazing. Every one of these people put their heart and soul into this and it shows not only in the masterpiece they produced but also in the obvious enjoyment they got from playing their part in it. Virkelig storslaet
Star Wars had been out all summer in '77 but I didn't see it until November, and even then only as an impulse because I had nothing better to do that evening. The movie was experiencing a second wave at the time so it was a packed house, in a very fancy, old school, single screen theater downtown with balconies, chandeliers, a stage, a killer sound system, and actual curtains that dramatically parted when the movie began. When the lights went down, the first notes of this fabulous theme music started, the movie began (projected through the curtains for the first few seconds), and the curtains parted, it was a memorable moment indeed.
2:07 The "violin bow dance" right here made my day. Congratulation to the Danish National Symphony Orchestra !
John Williams in my humble opinion is the best composer in our lifetime.
Up there with Mozart, Beethoven and Vivaldi

Love the conductor. Very animated. fun to watch .The best!
Best orchestra as always!
You can see the absolute JOY on the conductor's face during the Cantina piece!
The excitement you feel at hearing this never ever goes away!!!
There are many great music scores in movie history but my Dad and I agreed that is William's greatest, no second thoughts.
I din't realize what a majestic piece of music this was till I heard on a 20,000 dollar stereo system at a show at the Sheraton Universal in 1978. I was literally blown away.
Definitely the best presentation of the Star Wars Theme
Used in the opening of EVERY film of the series!! Just superb!!
love love love.. thank youuuuu
Incredible.😆❤️👏👏❤️

Milady understood the assignment.
You can tell she's happy, proud and excited.
The conductor gets really into it more than anyone I have seen.
I would love that the symphonyc orchestra of my town do show like this.
John Williams's work certainly enlivens Star Wars to a capacity of success it never would have otherwise enjoyed. John understood what George wanted but be gently pressed him to let him write his own thing; George wanted an old opera piece called Planets or something. Williams told George to let him come up with something inspired by it. Although they bear resemblance, this is head and shoulders above anything else prior.
This is galvanizing!
1:58 goosebumps
Totally
when i see and hear this i start crying becouse i know John Williams dont live for ever and Star Wars music its not gona be the same anymore :(
Beautiful
This music is so fullfilling and to watch the musicians perform gives a whole new enjoyment! Thank You Thank You Thank You!!! Nothing done to this level is done without an extreme effort and pure soul!!!
Goosebumps....
