    Pretty much the ONLY '80s car I still lust after. Thanks for posting this!

    I used to own a '76 Honda CB 750-four motorcycle, and it sounded EXACTLY like this Ferrari!

    The gearbox alone is a work of art.

    Just a suggestion for views of the gauges. Turn on the dash or parking or headlights so we can see the needles move about!

    & I'm so glad to see ppl enjoying these cars as they should be & were built for, instead of being just museum pieces stuck in a garage !

    It never occured to me before that the prancing horse emblem on the steering wheel was also the horn button. I was positively tickled to see that, thanks for showing it.

    My fiance and I have a few of these cars, stock, and a few that I did a V12 conversion to, soooo much fun, in my opinion, they are fun, they are not super expensive, the original V8 is pretty solid, and as someone else said, why not enjoy them, they way they are meant to be, we briefly had a few other models, We sold them, partly because, this is how we make money, but mostly because if you consider what they are worth, and the depreciation of driving them every day, it kind of messes with your head, the 308s, i have found them for anywhere betwen 1000 dollars, need work, and 6500, ready to drive. So, I will say, they are the best Ferrari ever made, as far as well rounded cars,.

      How did you find reliability and maintenance costs?

    • @jayceej.5858
      @jayceej.5858 Před 10 lety

      Joel Sadler I maintain all my cars, especially the ones I put so much of my heart and blood sweat and tears into :) even though I am a girl I have been doing this a long time ( about 22 years, since I was able to walk ) And I just do the maintenance by the book, and then some, The one I have with about 100k Kilometers on it has never had an issue except normal stuff (brakes, belts, etc) I do go further in that I change the oil in the differentials, and gearbox every 8 oil changes ( I change it at 3000 kilometers ) also I do a tune up every 5. If you love it, and show it that love, then it will be good to you.

    • @jayceej.5858
      @jayceej.5858 Před 10 lety

      Joel Sadler Oh and as for costs, about ever 3000 kilometers I change oil, oil filter ( synthetic oil and K&N filter ) I clean all my air filters thoroughly ( using proper cleaners and oils ) I do a full gearbox, and differential oil change ( synthetic oil ) grease all points that require it ( synthetic of course ) and steam the engine off, clean and polish everything. and so that 3000 kilometer cycle cost me around 250 to 300 dollars, so if that gives you some idea? Hope it helps

    The engine on this one doesn't sound quite right…too much pulley or valve lash. I'd take it in for a tune.

    bonita...lataria perfeita, pena que aqui no meu pais BRASIL é tão caro um carro como esta, pois pagamos tantos imposto que fico muito triste.
    O pior é que estes impostos sempre são usados de maneira inadequada, ou seja, existem muitos roubos de verba aqui no meu país.
    PARABENS AO DONO DESTE CARRO QUE NASCEI NA MESMA DATA EM QUE EU NASCI!!!...1979.

    It's surprising how cheap you can fin these. You would think being an old Ferrari that the price tag would be well over 100k.

    It makes me cry to see this. It's a great car but that leather. I could fix that leather for next to nothing creases, cracks and over-all finish. Leather can be restored easily... I once had a chance at a front end damaged 308GTS including a new front end, (cut off at the door sills!!) for a total of £12000 but I just couldn't raise it... I have the tools and wokshop and can restore, engine, bodywork and upholstery but just don't got the money to buy... Bitchin in't it...
