I just love you’re teaching style. It’s like having a sweet neighbor who’s a good artist and is willing to teach you all her best secrets.
all these years I was thinking that water color was for children. I now learned that this is for elderly people like me also. I watched your four videos. very informative. Thanks
My aunt painted watercolor and acrylics until she was 89. She taught classes and won several awards.
Nooo I didn't want this series to end! Thank you so much, you really helped this absolute beginner. Now I'll move on to the rest of your channel! Keep making videos!!
I do so enjoy painting, again, thank you!
Just sat through the entire 3 part lesson for my watercolors. What a great and fast way to relearn these techniques
I was on the verge of quitting and then I watched this once through and then again working with the video. It was very helpful and hopeful. Thank you!!
Thank you for your great instructions! Totally enjoyed learning things I'd forgotten. I'm coming back to painting after being away for a very long time. I kept up my drawing but not painting. Again thank you!
I’m so thankful for this tutorial. I’m a beginning beginner. I know nothing about art but I have a burning desire to learn. So I’m forcing myself to take in as much beginning information as I can. I have WAY more supplies than I need according to you, but I’m secretly glad I do. They’re so pretty. And I bought good quality supplies After watch these three exercises I am going to get some student grade paper and save my good stuff for later. Thank you for the instructions!
The wet on wet does work with acrylics as well. It is a technique I use often, with very similar results as your watercolour example.
Great tutorial. I will be revisiting some of them.
Thank you.
this is one of the most helpful painting videos I've seen, thanks !!
I absolutely love your instructional watercolor videos. Thank you so much for taking the time to do them. The way you explain things is perfect and has helped me so much. I hope you will continue doing this.
This series made my evening absolutely magical, I can't remember when I felt as good as doing your exercises.
This whole series is really great! Thank you! I love them! All your videos are really helpful and detailed. Thank you!
Oh, THANKYOU at last a real beginners instructional video on how to begin to paint then to begin using waterclours. I never painted at primary school, and i only knew that you add water and paint together....this was about 50 yrs ago. My chldren painted at school and did quite well...i always believed it was too hard to do...plus i was too scared to start because id make a lot of mistakes, didnt know how to fix it and didnt think i could paint because it took a lot of natural talent. Ive loved you videos 1. Amt of water to use, 2. Part 1, 2 and 3 beginning techniques basics watercolour. The comments sbove cover the videos already watched.
Please ontinue
The tip right at the end about pre-mixing your colors is super useful. I'm used to painting miniatures with acrylic, where allowing the surface to dry is one of the benefits of mixing your colors as your need them.
Thanks for the tutorials! I just finished all three and they were very helpful in getting me started with watercolor!
Thank you so much for all three exercises!
This little series is very helpful. I've played around with watercolors a bit and want to actually learn how I can get better at it and this series has helped a lot. Thanks!
I am a beginner watercolorist I have benefited from this tutorial so much. I was having trouble with the different washes and how to achieve them. Thank you for making your tutorial so easy to understand.
yr nuuby c

I liked your series! made the exercises and I LOVE listening to you and all the comments you make. Keep it up!!!
Thank you for posting these. My daughter (6 yo) loves visual arts, and I know very little about them besides really crummy sketches that can impress any toddler, but don't know anyone in our area who does art lessons, so we'll be watching these and learning together. Thank you so much!!
+Jo Schmo You're an awesome mom! Your daughter is very lucky. :)
gorgeous!!! thanks for sharing!!!
Hi. I only found you today. I'm a card maker who wants to add a bit of water colour to them but I've never tried to paint anything before. I found this easy to follow and somehow very calming. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I can't wait to watch more.
Please do a video on 'not knowing what to paint at first'; lack of confidence; 'your mind is blank slate and empty of ideas' , 'copying is better because you have an idea or what you like/see'.
I hope this helps, i have slight brain damage due to domestic violence re ex and i find it difficult to know or design something in my head ie sketching a dress design on paper.
Keep up the good work it is giving me confidence to start.
Id like one on different types of brushes, the extras use with watercolour eg gouche and paint on tape for branches etc.
Thankyou so much. Video clear, bright and great examples they arent
Such an educational video! Thanks a lot!

your video will be my next excercise !Thanks your all of this. I'm french and , sometimes, i have difficulty to understand another youtuber who speak very quickly . Your have a clear prononciation, it's help me too in plus write the specific watercolor's term on the paper.

Thank you so much for showing us important basic info. You make it interesting and enticing to start watercoloring
Very easy to follow and enjoyable!
Hi Meredith. I found your channel after watching some watercoloring videos. I fell asleep and then I heard your voice and there you were. Devine intervention maybe? I believe so because I've been watching a lot of videos trying to figure out how to really begin and I found that you are my answer. I immediately subscribed. So thank you for being descriptive in your tutorials.
I just discovered this videos and I like them a lot, I just got interested in watercolor painting last week and I really like it, hope to get better at it. Cheers
Your videos are so helpful, thank you.
Thank you so much for your video, it's going to be a great help for me !

Love your videos. So helpful!
Really enjoyed this serie, maybe in this new year you add more beginner technics and exercises. I think a lot of People can learn from you! Thanks for all the videos
thank you sooo much!! you are great, lots of tips and learning
fun, I enjoyed this! thanks!
Thank you! I learned so much!
I would love to see you continue this series! I'm an absolute beginner, and this has been more helpful than you can imagine. I've been walking away from my paintings so discouraged. Clearly, I have poor quality paints & brushes....I didn't realize that until these videos. But, Lordy...I've priced out the decent stuff and that's just never going to happen. So, I need to have better techniques! More beginner videos please😁.
Don’t despair. Sonnet watercolors (full pans) are made by the same company as White Nights in Russia. They’re under $30 for a set of 24 on Amazon.
Thank you for your very good tutorials.
I love love love all ur vids ❤🧡💜
wet on wet can also be very gestural. I like to use it that way sometimes and build up the focus from that after it is dry.
Very good video ... good step-by-step explanation :)
Thank you for your videos! So so helpful for this beginner. I know you placed your camera closer so we could see the blocks of washes better, but I would also like to see how you interact with your paints. I'm such a beginner!!
very helpful tutorial! thanks so much! u have a great voice =D
thank you very much it was really useful , I am bigginer and I really happy to find you and I will chasing your nice videos🙏🙏
Such a great series! Could you do a rundown of the watercolor artist's toolbox? What setup and supplies are absolutely necessary to start painting?
Thank you so much!!
Please make more beginner videos. I bought paints, brushes and paper and did not know where to start. I am going to start this weekend! Thanks so much.
Very very helpful. I am new to this series of tutorials (Jan 2020) and am applying it to my new watercolor hobby.
Thank you. This was very informative. I am better off because I watched it.
Hey thanks.. Im a very scared beginner. I think these exercises will help immensely
hi! just wanna drop by because i've been binge-watching the exercise videos and I have to say that they're so helpful! your voice is nice and i like your hands (ha ha not weird at all). but really. I just wanna say thanks. i've bought paints and brushes and didn't have the confidence before. and now i'm really gonna try.
God i cant escape from Armys XD nice to see there is an artistic side to us
Totally NOT a hand fetish 👌
Thanks for three great videos. I will try all these lessons tomorrow. Theresa Turpin
great video! also your hands are so beautiful. thanks
thank you learned a lot from you love from Bangladesh
wow really nice!
Hi I too have been binge watching the series and found it very educational. My mom always wanted me to try watercolors but I was always terrified (that's right...control freak here). I enjoy card making and recently watching artist use watercolors I thought it was time to give it a try. I will update my comment to let you know how things go but with your tutorials/exercises I can't wait to get started.
i just wanna kinda see an update here hahaha
late to the party but this is so helpful! I've never taken a watercolor class before, I just do it for fun, so this is super awesome for me!
Thank you
job well done
For all of you who are SUPER GREEN to art in general (like I am). A Wash=A semi-transparent layer of colour. Thus a "Flat Wash" is a technique used by artists to cover a large area with colour (usually ink, or paint). Hope this is helpful!
I am brand new to painting. Started Oil painting 6 months ago and love it. Now I am taking a 6 week beginner watercolor class at The Dunedin Fine Art Center in Florida. I love it. So much to learn. I love your videos. Where can I buy the big white colored board for putting my paper on and the water syringes you use. Any suggestions on your favorite brushes. I am learning a lot from watching your videos.
Great 👍👍thx a lot
Thanks for sharing. Can you tell us more about when those techniques are applied? Like wet on wet usually use in sky painting..
I am waiting for my first watercolor supplies and watching these videos so i can figure out what to do as soon as i receive it xD
Wet on wet is the reason I started watercolor
Meredith! I found your channel today when trying to brush up on my painting skills. Thank you for your simple clean videos, and for your clear to-the-point explanations. Your love for painting and watercolor shows. I'm happy to say you've earned yourself a subscriber. :)
Painting is so relaxing. I'm 11 and I love arts❤❤
I'm so glad you found art. You will enjoy it your whole life I'm sure.
Awesome video! Could you please tell me what kind of board you are using to hold your paper on when you paint? I don't see it on your supply list.? Thanks!
Thank you! This helped me so much! Do you have any videos on mixing paint and how much water you need ratios? Thanks so much!
+Katie Introcaso Hi There! Oh wonderful! I'm so very glad I could help you!! :) I have some videos in the works about perfect paint mixing and water ratios but in the mean time, fellow CZcams watercolorist Angela Fehr has a good video on the subject. Here is a link to it if you are interested in checking it out:czcams.com/video/PdAMm-JBW_E/video.html
I hope you will stick around for all the new videos I will be posting in the new year, and thank you so much for watching!! :) Best, Meredith
it was very informative my question is do i draw on the water colour pad or what do i use to mount my paper on a block like yours, what should i use as a block?
I love you videos,thanks.
My question is when you have puddles of water, how do you know when to let an area stay with that color puddle?
I seem to always want to be smooth a certain area and not let it dry with the most colored area. Thanks
You can use the corner of a paper towel, dry brush and dip lightly into puddle until you are happy with the color. You can also use a better quality of paper that can handle the water better. I have watched a lot of videos and that seems to be the common problem solver. I hope that helps. I'm a beginner too.
im a beginner and i learned a lot from this tutorial..thank you very much for this
😍
Would you add another exercise for practicing glazes/layers? I'm having a problem figuring out how to adjust them so I’m not painting dry but also not lifting previous layers. Your explanations for other stuff are good, so I’m hoping you have insight into this.
Radiant wash part is so relatable 😂😂😂
my number one takeaway is that i need a mixing palette with deep wells to hold my wash mixes
Teach me more🤗
how many times should i practice with this exercise?
my wet on wet wouldnt bleed onto each other as well as the dual color. i tried adding more water but the colors just stay. i wonder if it's the watercolor or the paper..
Could I use acrylic ink for doing a wash?
