Puddin' sent me on over. I'm in the market for a solar/wind backup for our well pumps, so this vid immediately caught my eye. WRT to your heat shrinking challenges may I suggest you get a battery operated heat gun - you won't have to worry about the wind, you'll get more consistent heating/results, and you won't have to worry about scorching the insulation on the non-protected wires. Also, since I know you just started this channel up not too long ago and are still figuring out what resonates with viewers best, the hole digging portion would've been perfect for a timelapse (and now as I type this you're up to the part where your taping and sending the pump down, so it looks like you read my mind - lol). Nice camera work, the audio was clear, and your content is very interesting, and I appreciate the fact you explain the process as you go along. Best of luck with the new CZcams venture and I'm certain this will boost your business as it allows customers to see the quality of your work, your knowledge, and work ethic.
Man thank you! That means a lot to me! I sure try and am totally still learning the camera side of the business!!! Thank you for watching and subscribing!!!
About the hole digging...Us Minnesotians go crazy over augers. We use the power ones for ice fishing and post holes. Nowadays you have the choice between gas or battery operated ones. 😎
Found your channel when it came up on my feed. One observation is omitting the earth wire in the plug ,if and when a genset is connected up to it. Following from New Zealand now retired electrician🇳🇿👌👌
Howdy there all the way down in New Zealand!!!!!!! So the earth ground is still to the pump and controller/disconnect. The ground goes up to the controller/disconnect, and the pump and panels are rounded there. All I’m using are the positive and negative wires from the panels to the plug. I’ve been told this is correct, but if not, let me know. Thank you so much for finding us and subscribing!!!!!!!!!!!!
it is great to see there is people in this industry that take pride in there work I see a lot that don't . Your install was very neat and done professionally the only thing I would suggest for future is installing gurnfos io101 generator back up it will make for a cleaner install because it has a disconnect switch and it automatically shuts the panels off when generator is plugged in and turns back on when the generator is off . It will also prevent someone from plugging and unplugging the panel to pump under load which can cause damage to the motor keep up the great work
Man thank you for watching and the kind words! I have installed many IO101’s and IO50’s. They are nice and clean for sure! So it’s an options thing when people price one out. The 12 dollar disconnect box usually wins out, but there is some education at time of install too. Thank you so much for watching and subscribing!!!
Well I've been behind the times... I looked up that pump's specs and found it has a built-in inverter and runs off AC or DC. Fantastic... I think I've got a solar application for that!
It seems to me, that your showing all the work necessary to do this work few would ever want to get iinto this business, but if there is one, then I our world will be a better place for having a great teacher!
We install a lot of stuff the same way. For the ground rod make a tool use a 2=21/2 in pipe and put a cap on one end and use solid 3/4 steal rod welded on the sides as handles. For a post/rod driver work kinda similar to a jack hammer but you are manually driving it. If it's not getting inspected . even if it is. cut the top off or add dirt. 🤐 I didn't say that shhhh. Lol for a easier way to measure the well use a kid size fishing pole regular reel and line with sinker and use a half hitch and anything like a piece of wire for a marker. When you get a chance walk the line out and use a measuring wheel. It's easier. The sounder are way over priced and the sonar aren't accurate and don't work on shallow settings. Just a fyi. 💯👍✌️
Thanks for your thorough ness. It shows your integrity. Remember this is an advertisement about your businesses, and honesty , you camera operator is a god send. From a Californian, with family in Perkins.
Thank you for that, and yes, she is the best of the best! Hardest working girl I know!! She is right beside me(actually out in front) all the time we’re working! Thank you for your support and for watching!!!
nice work guys ! I just put mine in! pump sits at 84m and pumps into a 9000ltr tank bored into in granite static head 13.5m beautiful clear water after pumping it for 4hrs we are in Queensland au
Wow Queensland!!!!! That’s awesome! Sounds like a good one!!!! I would love to come to Australia to look at how y’all do things. I’m sure it’s just like we do it here, but the Aussie way! Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment!
Hindsight if i would have watched this video before asking the question about galvanized pipe i would have had my answer But interactions in comments helps grow your channel also. So win win
Well never hurts to ask! We use ARBONNE. This stuff is amazing. You have to get it from a rep. That’s how I got it, my wife is one. I dropped over 20 pounds(the healthy way) in a month. I’ve been 215-220 for the last 10 years or so, but this morning I was 192. I do eat a little healthier but replace lunch with these shakes.
I came across your channel yesterday I just put our new 3SQF3 in our well memorial day with my kids helping the last one lasted 20 years at 450F deep static level of 400FT great pumps . I had the same problem 30 years ago citation I found a windmill for sale took it down and stored it till I got my well drilled then I found out it would only lift 120 ft back to square one and ended up with the Grundfos
Yep you can’t go wrong with the Grundfos! I’m a windmill guy till the day I die, but the ease of use with the solar is amazing. Thank you for watching!!!!!!
I'm in south OK and we are evaluating a Grundfos 12 or 26. What was the cost of the pump for this guy? Our well is 145 and water hits about 30, so a lot less pipe.
Good morning! Contact me and I can get you a better idea of price, there are a lot of variables that affect price. (405)278-1080. Thank you for watching!!!
Working my back through the archives and spotted this install which is much different from a windmill. Cool modern solution with the latest technology, and your expertise is clearly visible. But come on -- wear some gloves, man! You can't be digging post holes, pile driving an iron bar, and swinging a 20 lb sledge bare handed! All of that is back breaking physical labor; please look for ways to go easier on the bod. You won't be 40 forever, and 50 will come much faster than you think. You'll thank me when you're 60.
Glad you found this one! One of the alternate things we provide. I have tried wearing gloves but I don’t like not having dexterity. I have not found a glove that makes me feel in control. Thank you for watching us!
I do if it’s a normal submersible pump with starting torque, but this pump just hangs due to the soft start. Since it is pretty much stationary, I don’t. Good question. If you get 10 installers, you will have 10 ways to do it. Thank you sooooo much for watching!
So out of curiosity could you run a small diameter pump and light weight fiberglass rods or smaller diameter steel to get more depth out of that aeromotor?
Yep! The Aermotor website has depths that it will pump from, but yes, making things lighter will make it pump deeper, but we still try to stay on the conservative side. Thank you for watching!
I watch an electric well driller and he uses a heavy duty black roll pipe his utube channel is www.youtube.com/@h2omechanic . He talks on some of his episodes about the type of pipe etc and the need for frequent tapeing of the wire . I find this stuff very interesting. I love the windmills though.
Oh yeah watch him also! Love his channel. I’m a subscriber! I wish he could find our content, I have seen them work with sucker rod driven wells before, not very often tho. Thank you for watching????

Why don’t you stagger your wire spaces? It would keep it from being balky. And if the splice insulation failed, it wouldn’t short out between spices.

Don’t you need a ground on the plug that the generator would plug into?
No sir! The pump is grounded itself, and the plug is just both legs of the power wires from the panel!
Thank you for watching!
@@OkieWindmiller I commented before I got to the end when you explained that in the video. I was thinking because the generator has a ground. Thanks!

We use 2” pumps mostly but have done 1-7/8 pumps, but you have to use 2” pipe, which makes the water column heavier, so not sure it helps much….😀
Grundfors is a danish company 🇩🇰
You’re welcome

Duluth trading
