- In this video I am working to replace an existing septic tank and sump tank. But before I can start digging, I have to move a 10 foot by 12 foot shed and take down a small tree. The existing poly septic tank was deformed and was not watertight at the riser to tank interface. We decided to install a new precast concrete septic tank and a precast sump tank. In this video I go over how to use a laser level to set grade for the bottom of the tank hole excavation. I also include video of connecting the new tank inlet to the existing building drain line.

i would get rid of that 90 degree in soil pipe coming from house and use 2, 45 degree bends?
This must be a warmer weather place where it never drops below freezing because the sump well is outside the foundation of the house, here in Southern Ontario Canada our sump wells are in the basement usually six feet below outside grade and 3 feet below the basement floor.

The other reason and main reason there is a code on pipe fall is so that the water floats the solids to carry them down the pipe …if it had too much fall the water would go and leave behind the solids…why you need between 1/8” and a 1/4” per foot fall…on drains with no solids 1/4” per foot or more is fine…no hard 90s
