- "Sand Storm" cover of Johnny & The Hurricanes instrumental by UK sixties guitar combo The Saints. From their second private press LP "Saints Alive!" (MJB July 1964).
The group were Robin (lead gt.), Vince (rhythm gt.), Andrew (bass) and Hector (drums). It was all on a first-name basis, so their surnames remain a mystery! - Hudba
Great version . This song was played on closing night if Cricketers pub in Southend by a local band.1972
🎵 Super 👍 🧡 R n R will never die....
Superbe groupe . Bravo les gars pour cette reprise top ! ♥
Never heard of this group until now. Not bad.
This is excellent... never heard of The Saints until I found this!
GREAT cover !
These guys were really good.
What an interesting track. There was another UK instrumental group called The Saints who were a Joe Meek product. That group featured Roy Phillips, Tab Martin (of The Tornados for a short time) and drummer Ricky Winter. They released two singles, their debut being a cover of The Surfaris hit Wipeout. They're one of about 950 bands covered in a new book What About Us? A Rocklopaedia Of Britain's Other Recording Groups 1962 - 1966. Thanks for posting this great tune!!!!
I was the very last bass player in The Saints, who finally folded up when their singer, Paul Neon, died of cancer. Sad ending.
I like this version too!
it's got my vote!
done their way..hurricanes were amazing..this is still a great listen
Nagyon jó szám! Köszönöm a feltöltést!
Worth a listen .
Ou, est passée ma jeunesse. A cette époque c'était de la musique.

Friends in the garage, all you need is first names. Thank you.
I like how the drums AREN'T the conventional surf beat. good to hear em double time.
Great ++++++++
Yeah not a bad version!
The bass is heavy pumping in the mix, which sounds fat with the very nice guitar riff. Turn up the Volume!
@overbrookXXX TRUE,acceptable version,( for those who never heard the original).
No one touches the legendary Hurricanes.
The guitarist on the left looks like he has either a Hofner Club 50 or a Club 60 with a whammy bar..Cool....
Great version, in fact a better version
Better than Hurricanes I agree. Think their use of organ keyboard gave some their songs a sense of fairground style.
fantastic track. = alex. ukraine.
Break in between Mercury and Gemini.
not bad at all
BUENA VERSION PERO LA DE JOHNNY & THE HURRICANES ``ES LA VERSION´´.
DEMASIADO BUENA PARA SER OLVIDADA :
SANDSTORM - JOHNNY AND THE HURRICANES
Gee wiz these guys are almost as good as latter day saints -
Aussie band The Saints
drums messed up a good track.
caccia guida what??
No GO! "Johnny and the Hurricanes" sind die Einzigen! ,die es richtig können!! Ausserdem verspielt der Gitarrist sich dauernd, weil Er eben NICHT! der Gitarrist von " J & t H" ist!! :o/...
I did play in The Saints group in Finland from 1962 - 1964. I did not know there was in UK band with the same name (There was no internet at that time). Later I found there was popular The Saints band in Australia and they toured around the world.
