I've never replaced my chain before so I'm not sure what this one is but, it does have a master link and Iv never had any issue with the clip coming off. You just need to make sure the closed end of the clip leads in the direction of rotation.

@@Woodman_Custom_Sawing I would love that. I bought a 2002 a few months back and have been addressing all the undone maintenance. My plan is to race it in the San Felipe 250 next year. The bike was built as Baja 500 tribute bike by XR's so it came with lots of upgrades from them. Ironically this mod and few others were not done to it.
