    Been a year since your last video, nice to see you upload again.
    Great lessons learned & I universally agree with them. You can read, watch, & learn all you want but true knowledge will come from using what you learned, acting on it, and experiencing it.

    Thank you to those for voting on the video title for this video in the community feed. Planning to also release a video: Reading 500 Books - Was It Worth It?
    A few comments:
    -It's a rainy spring here in South Australia so enjoy the rainy mood background sounds
    -Books aren't useless per se. I've found they can be a fantastic guide or pointer to direct experience where the real learning happens. They can plant seeds that 'click' later and transform into understanding.
    -What matters more than reading books is the motive for reading them
    -I believe in God as Universal Love, Unconditonal Love, Consciousness, Acceptance, The Eternal - pick your word.
    -This video was made 'off-the-cuff' and I am aware it has some imperfections, currently experimenting without a script
    -As this channel moves from a focus on self-improvement to self-realization, there will be more ideas communicated that may not initially make sense due to my current level of competence in communicating them, my fallibility as a student, the paradoxical nature of the ideas, and the limitations of language.
    Books mentioned in the video:
    The Book of Not Knowing by Peter Ralston: www.amazon.com/Book-Not-Knowing-Exploring-Consciousness-ebook/dp/B003WUYPOW
    Pursuing Consciousness by Peter Ralston: www.amazon.com/Pursuing-Consciousness-Book-Enlightenment-Transformation-ebook/dp/B00N6PBBOA
    The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle: www.amazon.com/Power-Now-Guide-Spiritual-Enlightenment-ebook/dp/B002361MLA
    The most recent 5 books I've read:
    Awake by Angelo DiLullo (czcams.com/users/SimplyAlwaysAwake)
    Dirty Enlightenment by Peter Brown
    God's Mountain by John Scott (czcams.com/video/ofxCbdr0LIw/video.html)
    Bringers of the Dawn by Barbara Marciniak
    The Trap by David Icke

    • @OnePercentBetter
      @OnePercentBetter  Před rokem

      Howdy Nikhil. I may do a video on this but in short: Osho's personality is unique and compelling. I believe he speaks with conviction from a place of direct experience with the divine. I read around 30 of his books. I've since re-evaluated my stance on Osho. I spend more time learning from Yogananda, Sri Yukteswar, and Baba Neem Karoli as I've found them to be more perfected beings. The rolls royce situation with Osho has stirred up controversy as well as some other things. I understand him to not have been a perfect being. Still grappling with desire/attachment/greed/anger. So I may still draw some inspiration from an Osho quote here and there but as of now, Yogananda speaks to my soul and I continue to look inside myself to keep dissolving anger, attachment etc.

    Just found your channel and love the content! One thought that jumped out at me is that you could make a video for every book a few different ways for different demographics. For the demographic like me, it's a perfect fit; the content is organized, quick, informative, efficient, etc. But for other demographics (who may need the information even more), that style won't reach them as effectively. For example, a large demographic might be a little bit more creative and thoughtful (and maybe high), and for that demographic it would be helpful if the content was presented a little bit slower, pauses in between sentences or at least the main points, some nice music, and more engrossing visuals. Another demographic, women, may be more effectively reached if a woman presented the content. Just some ideas for you on how to spin the same videos multiple times to reach more people. Maybe something you haven't thought about.

    • @OnePercentBetter
      @OnePercentBetter  Před rokem +1

      Hi Tony, thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. I have considered this but for now will stick to the format that comes naturally to me. Catering to many demographics diverts my focus from serving a single demographic well. Thanks for tuning in! I may be experimenting with new formats soon, like a tier list video.

    • @OnePercentBetter
      @OnePercentBetter  Před rokem +2

      Indeed! Find out for yourself if the past exists if you are inclined to do so. I speak of past experiences as if they happened since it is useful as a tool for communication in this finite form we call human. It may often sound like I contradict myself and this is due to the limitations of human language and the paradoxical nature of duality/non-duality.

    Summary:
    What happens when someone intellectually ungifted tries to become clever by reading book and realize it doesn't work that way? He becomes religious. Why you ask? Because, surely, if he can't understand the universe then the universe must be magical somehow.

    • @sourdough7818
      @sourdough7818 Před rokem +1

      Damn you reek of insecurity. Death is coming at an accelerated rate isn’t it? Where has your gifted intellect led you to? Nowhere. Your life is meaningless but instead of accepting it you try to grasp to your façade of being an intellectually gifted man, when the fact of needing to put others down to feel comfortable in your mediocre skin shows that you are lost. You will see soon enough, your bubble of pretentious control will collapse and your ego-built reality will crumble.This man is happier and has helped more people than you will in all your lifetimes. I wish you all the best. Get better.

      @neillamas8929 Před rokem

      @@sourdough7818 let me ignore your accurate Sherlock-Holmes-like deductions about me (yes, this is irony) and focus on what I think is an interesting question you raise: "why am I so mad?"
      Whatever you or him have faith in, I don't really care. But, what I struggle to just let slide is when someone tries to indoctrinate people that have put some trust in him/her (in this case, because of his previous unrelated content) through logical fallacies (in this case, based on his inability to accept his own limitations). For instance, I wouldn't have been mad had he built a different channel to talk about his "spiritual blossom".
      Granted, I also hate it when I witness wide-spread stupidity. It makes me loose a bit of my faith in humanity every time. But, maybe that's on me.

      @OnePercentBetter  Před rokem +1

      I've found Osho's teachings to be excellent. Not to confuse the teachings with Osho himself and some of the dodgy stuff he engaged in. It's my understanding that he was not a perfect being, and indeed - the collection of Rolls-royces indicates Greed/desire/attachment even though they are said to be gifted to him by his devotees.

      @@OnePercentBetter Don't be fooled. Osho ran a massive scale brainwashment to steal the money of people he had deceived. By all means he should have been jailed. He fed on the pain of people. He is a terrible human being.

  • @bingoberra18
    @bingoberra18 Před rokem

    So what is the next step? Good emotions is mere chemical reactions in our brains, and we are creatures put together through trial and error to what we are today and the stupid questions we ask ourselves. Can we explain our knowledge to an ant? We cannot even explain the colour red to a blind man. What´s there to say that we have the ability to understand what we are, why we are, when we are and where we are? An ant does not understand any of that, and we are only the smartest life form that we know about, which could be less than than a shrimp in the "bigger picture". I think it is foolish to assume that some people know humankind at a deeper level. Can we assume some ants or rats have a deep conciousness and understanding compared to their peers. This is also why I cannot deal with the concept of God, as we picture god as an image of a human who knows us and have a vested interest in us, this is madness and just shows how narrow minded we are. You cannot think outside of your own personal reality, just like in the allegory of the cave. Imagine an ant understanding the concept of planets and the universe. It is not even close to their reality yet it "exists". So where are we in that concept? I have settled on that I am a stupid monkey and the best use of my time is just to live and do the things that makes my dopamin go boing.
