People still don't understand they can't lessen when they speak....
People talk because of copyright....if they edit the trailer in to their reactions they have to change the context of the original vid so it doesn't infringe copyright....if they sat there with just the full trailer they would be pulled....they have to speak over 78% of the content or they will be flagged for stealing content

One of the beauties of this trailer besides the stunning cinematography is the way Joaquin Phoenix is actually embodying this character- the facial expressions and body language appear on point

It doesn't just look like a great "comic book film", it looks like a great film period. This is what we've been lacking.
Yes! Any comic-book movie should be able to stand on it's own, before it becomes a super-hero movie. We all love the special-effects pop-corn fest!... but cinema should be much more than just that.

So glad I came across this channel. As soon as I clicked on the video and saw Jim Morrison of The Doors, a Pink Floyd record, and Jon Snow and Groot Pops, I knew right away you had some great taste. Can’t wait for this movie!

And, imo, one of the best things about this movie, is that, we don't even see Joker "going full berserk"... which i think there will be plenty of it in a "great finale" =)
I fully appreciate your concern over Todd Phillips’s influence, but don’t forget that Martin Scorcese is overlooking the production and he tends to be meticulous, if not a bit of a control-freak, when it comes to quality. So you can expect captivating cinematography, sound and performances, as well as sharp editing, perfect casting and detailed sets and costume design. One thing that every Joker Reaction video has missed out so far is the allegory of Joaquin Phoenix’s interpretation of Joker (from the snipets we see) to Charlie Chaplin’s ‘Clown’ from the Silent Era. This goes hand in hand with the music played, a cover of Jimmy Durante’s version of ‘Smile’, a song which Chaplin himself composed. In this case, effectively used to raise the hair on the audience’s skin. Todd is a risk, but I can see why the studio chose him. He knows how to squeeze comedy out of otherwise tragic situations. Some of the scenes you see in ‘The Hangover’ films would be horrifying in real-life situations. Similarly Chaplin brought out comedy out of tragedy in most of his films, like The Great Dictator, or even Modern Times, a film also featured in this trazer (I love your word BTW), adding further to the allegory of the man who originally played The Clown on the silver screen. Ultimately we will find nitpickers who will dislike the film, because that is the nature of our species and our subjective input to our collective reality. And good luck to them. However, I know that Joker is going to be a film that is going to do a lot more than just make us smile. 🃏

Martin Scorsese is not tied to the movie anymore I don't think the two producers are Todd Phillips and Bradley Cooper.
Seeing how he became the joker and what he did before with his life like a real person who would use clown make up to become the joker and become a criminal
But what will he sound like is the question on my mind. We only hear him speak in his regular voice in this. I think for it to rival ledgers he will need to transform on all fronts, including how he speaks. Jack Nicholson didn’t put on a voice come to think of it.

I was actually pleasently surprised with war dogs. You definitely have a point, but i think its safe to say that this is going to be taken as seriously as possible by todd phillips for a couple reasons: 1.) you dont sign on as director to a movie that is supposed to be a character study of one of the most iconic villians history without having reverance for that particular character (especially post heath ledgers joker) 2.) you dont take on the monumental task of directing a movie like this without feeling like you have something completely new to add to the table (not including david ayer, who, somehow, managed to royally fuck up an amazing character depicted by someone who is, normally, an amazing performer)
and 3.) and i highly doubt an actor like joaquin phoenix, known for being picky with his roles and for taking the roles he does choose very seriously, would take on a roll he thought was going to be portrayed poorly on film.
All that being said, i do get your skepticism, but this totally took away the angst i had waiting to see how this turned out! They definitely already have my money, hahaha!
