_"Just the trailer alone is cinematic excellence."_
Perfectly stated. Completely concur. They should introduce a new Academy Awards "Best Trailer" category based on this masterpiece.
Red Daikini I read this comment as she said that
Dino 1012 yo wtf... I did too and I checked the replies to see if someone else did and you did. That’s wild
IWorkOut Yeet
I like this train of thought.
I love this idea!
Just like how they had commercial awards before right?
Nicholson was the Comedian
Ledger was the Psychopath
Leto is the Gangster
Phoenix is the Broken Man
How can you mend a broken man?
Joker never be psychopath, he is sociopath
Phoenix is Gotham's dark natural lashing back at the people.
Nicholson is comedian joker
Ledger is mentally disturbed joker
Phoenix is depressed joker
Leto is Marilyn Manson joker
phoenix is the joker *
How come no one ever mentions how incredibly dark and emotional this trailer is. They have portrayed mental challenges extremely accurately!
A lot of the reactors have mentioned that.
Even the music choice highlights this: "Smile, even though your heart is aching" kinda sounds like "Oh, you'll be fine, move on".
And the difference in the way he walks in the beginning(up the staircase) and towards the end (walks down the staircase)
His confidence made a giant leap
Making it look like Arthur is most comfortable when he takes on on 'Joker' Persona.
@@priyaelankumaran4704 also the symbolism of arthur going up the staircase, fighting to maintain his sanity to going down the staircase being his descent into madness.
Daradajee These reactors seem a bit young to understand mental illness and the many clues in the trailer pointing to the descent into madness. It's far more than people being 'mean' to Arthur Fleck, it's the constant grind of evil without relief. As Arthur says to the nurse through the wire, 'What?'
I'm calling it right now Joaquin phoenix is winning the Oscar next year what an actor 👏👏👏
@@mephistopheleslair8466 😂
Just saw the movie.. he's fucking taking this home
You are definitely right. He is absolutely going to win Oscar for this movie. The movie is fucking goooddddddd
Film will get nominated for almost every thing there is, it's 100%. And there is no way it doesn't get the Oscar for leading role, visuals and music. If it's not - we put on clown masks and riot
@@thebigsam aye agreed
Did he say Jared Leto Joker stayed true to the Heath Ledger? I just spit coffee all over my monitor....
mortaar i was equally appalled when I heard that. I had to rewind to be sure this dummy really said that.
Yeah, best joke I've heard today.
I’m not a fan of heath either. Thought he did amazing but I like the original joker the best
@@rmcdaniel2424
What original Joker ? Cesar Romero?
remliqa him, animated series and jack Nicholson’s joker where all similar. They did the more comic book type joker. I am glad they brining it back with this joker. Heath was good but no iconic laugh. Jared.... well he was okay I guess but yeah this guy just from the trailer is brining OG back
A really damaged Joker doesn't need any 'damaged' tatoo on his forehead.
This, is The Joker.
Her: what what what
Joker: WHAT😠👁👁?
2:26
Zaζīē Bēētζ whō plajed Dômino in “Deadpōōl 2” is Haяlej Kwinn in “Djokeя”??
You lady on the right, what you described is called excellent cinematography poetry with noir 70's Scorsese crime vibe. Phoenix is gonna JOKE to an Oscar.
Which is good, since the executive producer was MARTIN SCORCESE!
Joaquin Phoenix will kill this role!
Oscar Alert ! Oscar Alert ! 🚨
angst, frustration, and sadness just pours out of each pore of Joaquin Phoenix's Joker. Jared Leto just looked bored.
Agree!
Leto didn’t even get his fair share. Stuck in an awful film with scenes butchered. If you judge him on that mess then I don’t know what to tell you
@@sabya9314 That's the reason I said he looked bored. Maybe he never bought into the mess that was SS.
@@sabya9314 exactly dude only had like 5 minutes of screen time. Leto is an amazing actor
Leto was ok, slightly less gangster woulda been better. But they absolutely butchered his look. He at least needed eyebrows to keep a decent appearance. Otherwise he would have been decent for an old style film
The little boy behind the gate, is Bruce Wayne.
So the joker will be older right I'm confused
Maroof Mustafa because he is
Maroof Mustafa he is.
Uhh, but that much older......?
@@maroofmustafa2046 what are you confused about? Facts are facts.
If you look at his notes, he writes that the worst thing about having mental illness is that people expect you to act like you don't. So it seems like we're dealing with a very grounded look at the joker as someone who suffers from mental illness in the context of a broader society that is uncaring of or unequipped to deal with the mentally ill. From the first scene, we see a therapist who's more or less done with treating him, and he who's more or less indulging her, but is equally un-engaged and removed. The smile is forced--as it is in every other scene. He's a man who's trying to put up a facade. And it doesn't really fit into an appropriate "mold" of normalcy. He laughs during a skit where other people aren't laughing. And even when he's laughing, he's not really smiling. So it's not genuine insofar as it's not an organic laugh. It's the product of what he thinks he should be doing. And the only genuine smile seems to appear at end in the elvator, where he appears to be at or drawing closer to the person he's most comfortable being.
Well my friend, those are my thoughts exactly. This movie is about a metal patient slow descend in to madness who, by the end of the movie becomes this thing we know as The Joker. Joaquin might get an Oscar and the movie one for its cinematography at the very least.
Why do you think people is so fascinated/obsessed with the Joker???
Presidente Camacho for the same reason people are obsessed with people like Jack the Ripper, Ted Bundy, The Unabomber, and other serial killers. We’re so intrigued on how and why someone does something like that. The Joker intrigues people in a very similar way, especially with the more realistic takes on the character from things like this movie, the killing joke, and of course heath ledger.
I agree with all u guys comments.this movie is looking really good.
I would disagree only with the first genuine smile coming at the end. I felt like the smile he had while bathing his mother was genuine, as well.
Wow, that was a long comment
I’m calling Oscar-winning performance already. I think a lot of people including myself can relate to what’s happening into this trailer especially in today’s social media type society. This is pure awesomeness. Who wouldn’t want to lose their sanity and just take it out on the world.
Joker is not a character baby its whole ICON
Goes up the stairs as a broken , empty man
Walks down the stairs as the man he wishes to become
no need throw him to toxic chemical waste pool
just throw him in to toxic societies
LOL. Leto stayed true to Heath Ledger? ? Best joke I've heard today.
Uphill as good guy
And then
Downhill as Joker
Yeaaa ... I'm hype
Yeah. The details man. Outstanding.
That's joker's fake laugh. His real laugh is moments later

It’s one of the best trailers I’ve ever seen!
Rajiv Injety This trailer put a smile so deep and dark on my face I don’t know how to function anymore
@@kvs7876 thanks for describing my emotions .
2:44 the way her face looks disturbed is priceless
Great reaction, and that 2:32 reaction to his laught :) Joaquin Phoenix is a amazing actor, and the trailer is very good! Chills and goosebumps while and after watching it. :)
chills, this goin for an Oscar for sure! trailer alone deserve an oscar
The thriller of a trailer brings me back constantly, and I'm even driven to all these reactions and reviews.
10/10
Just the trailer is Oscar worthy...JP is genius!
This was set in 1981. And that IS Bruce Wayne. On the TV, it’s THOMAS WAYNE!
what is going on? can u explain? that kid is gotham right?
N Batman as a kid..
The IMDB says it was right after Bruce Wayne’s parents were killed!
Honestly this looks perfect.
That part you replayed is not the joker laugh... that’s him forcing himself to laugh at the club to try to deal with his pain. The train is his laugh.
Very good reaction. Subscribed. This looks amazing. Perfect combination of cinematography, acting and general athmosphere.
The boy that the Joker forces a smile on is a newly orphaned Bruce Wayne.
3:54 no one here was paying attention
2:50 IS THE ACTUAL LAUGH
Love your intro song this reaction was fire.👏🏻
I really wish people would stop saying it’s creepy that he dances and baths his mother. Does no one realize the woman seems like she has Alzheimer’s. it shows throughout the trailer that Arthur has to take care of her. I have done this before with my own grandmother and I’m 25. There’s nothing creepy about this it’s usually those brief moments of lucidity or where they can remember a fun moment that you also remember. Because it only gets worse later on and it’s hard to watch this person that you shared much with become like this.To anyone else who’s done this they understand that Arthur’s mother might his only last link to sanity and I’m guessing in the movie she dies while he’s either being restrained in the hospital or gets beat up on the train and passes out.
It takes place in the 80's.
That girl is alright
Its the toxicity of the city (instead of toxic chemicals) same
The kid he was making smile was Bruce Wayne
Love ther reactions and cabinets
somebody else said this in a comment somewhere.. it goes like "growing up, I wanted to be Batman but seeing how the world is now, I understand The Joker"
Lol the girl on the right is trying her best to keep up 😂 "yeah!" "Really?" "I love this trailer" 😂😂
Endgame would be the best if captain marvel was snapped out of existence by thanos
Lol 😂 facts
The boy was Bruce Wayne it was confirmed
Durante’s “Smile” is the perfect song to tease this movie. I’m hoping they use “Put on a Happy Face” for the next trailer. It’s another song that would be kind of creepy and ironic when put over clips from this origins movie.

“Just the trailer alone is cinematic excellence”
Couldn’t have said it better myself.
That first laugh in the intro is from Mark Hamill's joker xD and it was spot on the second laugh and body language was from ledger's joker...tho man is a fuckin genius and I think this is going to be one of the creepiest joker to be put on film
I think the guys that beat him up on the train are gonna end up being some of his first lieutenants.
Catch 22: Pilots in WWII Africa try to get out of the place they're at by telling the base shrink that they're going crazy. But he, knowing what a terrible place it is, declared only a same person would try to get out of there. A crazy person would call it normal.
M.A.S.H.: In a war correspondent interview episode, BJ. discusses Klinger and many exploits trying to get out of the Army. B.J.'s assessment? "Klinger's the sane one. It's the rest of us that are crazy".
Why do I bring up these two examples? They perfectly explain the Joker's philosophy. In his mind, *he* is the sane one. While the rest of us are crazy. Because only a crazy person would try to pretend the world was normal.
This trailer seems to encapsulate the feel ü this perfectly. Joaquin Phoenix's Arthur tried to play normal, and the world turned on him. So he tries insanity. And suddenly the world makes sense.
This gonna be great!
oh my god did you guys see Bruce Wayne, he the kid that joker made him smile , just notice it lol
That scene is super symbolic too.
Love that..!
IMDB says the kid is playing Bruce Wayne, so you're right about that.
Thomas Wayne is the antagonist in the movie
The little kid IS Bruce Wayne. He's even listed as such on IMDB.COM.
PLEASE let this be good dc!
Yo is it ARMYs that run the YT account? The intro song, good taste 😌👍🏻
every one thought that joker would kill some gangsters rob banks and shit lol
The boy is bruce, the man in the tv is the pather of bruce, is the major of gotham. this is confirmed for warner.
People didn't know what Joker's laugh sounded like until they heard Joaquin Phoenix.
That laugh though.. 🤩
No one can be compared to heath ledger
No even now
But still Joaquin is getting an Oscar ♥️♥️♥️
Damn! She is beautiful!
That kid in the trailer is Bruce wayne
bro explain. How?
He got casted? That's the only explanation.
He’s listed in the cast as “young Bruce Wayne”...
Also we see the world through joker’s eyes, which means Joker sees the world as evil, and he is the only good person.
Not many trailers ever gave me goosebumps, nor cause me to hysterically laugh with excitement as this Joker Trailer has. We will witness a true supervillain Origins story. This looks so damn amazing, because it's dark, gloomy, and realistic.
Btw, I bet the little boy behind the gate is a young Bruce Wayne. And the Joker may be targeting Thomas Wayne in the movie. Wonder if he will kill them like in Tim Burton's Batman? 🤔
Batman is NOT in the movie, so you aren't going to see any Batman references but the young boy in the trailer that Joker makes smile is a young Bruce Wayne. Thomas Wayne is also someone that pushes back against the Joker in the movie
1980's Joker: Drop him in chemicals
2019 Joker: Drop him in society
missed the laugh at the subway after he was punched
That scared the hell out of me 😳
jared leto's joker is different. and so cool . original . i like different things .
Nope
Joker has ALWAYS been part of DC Comics.
Tbh,i never actually get chills with 'jared leto' joker but other jokers, they have the 'true joker vibe' :)
They are not including it. Bruce Wayne is very young (as IMDB says). Think of it like an Elseworld story.
He puts the smile on bruce wayne face was awesome
When Martin Scorsese is working in a movie its guaranteed success!
He's unfortunately not involved with the film anymore.
I don't get the "Aren't they the same age?" .
Joker imho has always been slightly older than Batman in most depictions of batman vs joker. I always felt Joker as this 40s guy as Batman this late 20s guy.
While we all know Jokers backstory is vague and not set in stone two things that I always remembered, was the often portrayed "fell in chemicals" story and the other one was that Joker was behind or was the killer of Bruce Waynes parents.
This is my idea what will happen: It will depict a spiral of emotion, with him losing his jobs and the first "madness" will culminate with her mothers death. He will be obviously mad and will realize his target has to be the societies top who hasn't felt hard times and might even have caused his life to fall apart. His first target probably is Deniro. Which will cause infame and uproar in society. His most avid opponent will be Batmans father who will taunt him until Joker finally deals with him and perhaps they will lead into Bruce Wayne getting his own first trauma as a kid, kind of drawing the story arc together of the villain finishing his revenge and the 'hero' just starting his journey.
2:26
Her : what , what ,what
Jocker : what
Lol :v
Oh wow good catch 😂
so now that yall have seen it how do yall feel about his transition into a serial killer and being a complete crazy at the end? lol
3:15 that little boy is Bruce Wayne aka Batman
His RUN is extremely "Joker" and I have not seen a single review mentioning it. I think they studied the cartoon as well. (still my favorite, even above Heath Ledgers performance) I would love to see the movie end with "Have you ever danced with the devil..............." I don't care about DC so much outside of the Batman side of things, I personally think those things need to be full adult. (I know kids love batman too.....fuck it. Make this the beginning of the adult version. Keep making batman movies for the kids too.....two separate movieverses or something.
at :22 doesn't the red bar under the video indicate you already saw the trailer? so its not a true first reaction...
"They can be on the same level as Marvel"...wtf.
She explained nicely as to why this is her second favorite trailer andwhat she liked about this trailer, the lighting cinematography the musical choice ...what did she like about the Avengers Trailer?
Goldenboy617 what red bar? I don’t see it
I love the trailer ! I’m sure you guys know by now that little kid is Bruce Wayne
That intro! Yes!! Leto’s laugh was absolute sh*t
Am I the only one who's watching a lot of reactions of this trailer ?
The best of revenge, with smile 😈😈😈
Lit movie love the trailer
Best teaser ever ...
This movie is amazing
Oscar Nomination incoming.............................
This is just the proto-Joker. You are the first one I've seen who called it right.
I think he already has mental health issues, that combined with trauma and a cruel enviroment, eventually trigger the ultimate psychotic break; that's what happens with schizophrenics, although they are rarely violent and it usually happens in early adulthood.
Id rather watch this than all that C.G.I. bullshit! This shit has me stuck! I can't look away... I can't move!
The way i see it, if you watch this and speak in between then you are just forcing reactions dude. This trailer should lrave everyone spellbound
Exactly my thought!!!
thats the reason joker becomes villain🙂💔😈
It's hard to believe that the Joker was ever normal. I guess this movie will be the proof.
Martin Scorsese is producer and there's a lot of The King of Comedy and Taxi Driver in this, which stars Robert DeNiro and Deniro is the comedy club host in this trailer... Killing Joke and some Hitchcock's Psycho, you got probably a great movie. Take my money WB and DC. Take my money now.
Did that guy seriously just say that Jared Leto stayed true to Heath Ledger’s Joker? No way is that true. Heath’s was a scraggly, messy underdog who would skulk around like a lowlife. Leto made him into a cheap gangster crackhead who carried himself like one of society’s ultra-elites. There’s no depth or complexity from saying “he’s crazy” and “he’s a crackhead” or “he’s doing this for the cash”. Heath brought that element of mystery of why he is as he is, because he appears to have no use for money or material gain. Phoenix is moving on from Heath’s model, with the downtrodden lowlife who has deep inner problems. Leto was an embarrassment.
Man on TV is Thomas Wayne and kid is Bruce
Indeed, the kid is Bruce Wayne
This is the theory. This Joker did his thing starting in the 80's (while Bruce Wayne is a child) but this Joker does whatever until Batman starts becoming a thing in Gotham. This Joker tortures and corrupts Robin into being the Jared Leto Joker. You can look up theories that Jared Leto Joker is actually a Robin that got tortured by a older joker and went crazy and took up the mantel of the Joker. That was just kind of a theory that I had when I first saw the trailer.
