The first lecture in the I CARE FOR YOUR BRAIN with Dr. Sullivan brain health lecture series provides an excellent primer for understanding the brain and what is normal and what is not as we age. “We know that our genes play a significant role in the chances of developing of dementia; however, the decisions we make throughout our lives also have a great deal of influence,” Dr. Sullivan says. “Don’t make the mistake of thinking you cannot influence the course of your brain’s health, because you absolutely can!
The first step is in understanding the environmental and lifestyle factors that ‘turn on’ our genetic predispositions for less than optimal brain health. In this lecture, you will learn about the brain from a new and exciting neuropsychological perspective and what changes in the brain are expected as we age and which ones you should bring to the attention of your doctor. Dr. Sullivan’s promise is that you will leave this exciting, learning opportunity knowing how to advocate for a gold standard memory evaluation for you or a loved one.
Im a ninety year old senior with undiagnosed Essential Tremor. Both my son and cousin suffer from the same symptoms. My wife suffered with Vascular dementia. With the shortage of medical facilities in Canada, this material is very enlighting.
Yes I agree as a Canadian!
Having worked in broadcasting, enjoyed seeing how well produced this show is.
Secondly I'm enjoying this material.
Thank you @joeyblonskigolf! I appreciate that!
Love your videos! Very informative. Thank you for sharing!
I heartily agree about the dangerous amount of advertisement etc promising cures, given by money grabbers rather than properly trained health professionals. I'm also wary of AI so it is good to see properly trained, real people providing acurate health infirmation.
Thank u so much for this lesson... More blessings doc
Congratulations on a great inaugural episode. I can hardly wait to see the full series of lectures.
Enormously helpful! Thank you for this gift ❣️
This was absolutely wonderful. Thank you so much for this video 😊. Wish you were near me. I found this informative 👏
Very good and I am very engaged in this information so I can stay healthy and alert. Thanks Dr Sullivan
Thank you so much for this episode and the upcoming ones. I have not enough words to thank you. God bless you.
You're very welcome!
Thank you for all your hard work to help us Dr Karen. Much appreciated. God Bless you
You are so welcome!
I have watched your previous series and am very much looking forward to this one. Thank you
Hope you enjoy it and it genuinely helps you!
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it!
Outstanding presentation with such valuable information. I am not to the stage of dementia, but I do have white matter disease and I am not as sharp as I used to be. Looking forward to future videos. Thank you for your great content.
You are just fantastic. Sharing your vast knowledge and wisdom is so vital, so helpful to me. I’ve been experiencing brain health challenges and just finally had my intake interview with one of just two board certified neuropsychologists in my city. The wait time for my appointment was over one year! I have watched your videos for many months. As a retired healthcare professional I endorse and appreciate the education and the work that you do so well. Thank you. I can’t wait to download the workbook so I may continue to learn and improve my life. 😊
Thanks Lisa! I appreciate your kind words. That's so great that you got yourself in with a board certified neuropsychologist!
Thanks!
Thanks so much! This helps us keep our commitment to free, high quality brain health education going!
Thank you for "caring for my brain". I do. I really do!
Wonderful!
I recently had a CT scan on my brain per a fall that led me to the ER. This showed a chronic lacunar Infarct of the left basal ganglia/external capsule. I have no clue what this is or means to brain health. Can you talk about this on your CZcams class if so send me a heads up as to when? Or if you have talked about this then where can I find that session. Very Informative info from you! TYSM!

What is the data on the benefits of HRT (estradiol) with regards to dementia for women in menopause?
I did a lecture on that here: czcams.com/video/NZ6U7tHFa3k/video.html
Some data say there is a window of cognitive benefit from HRT, the earlier, the better!
@@icareforyourbrainwithdr.su7103 Thank you - I'll watch the lecture now. Hopeful that it will provide me some cognitive benefit since I started it in the recommended window.
can you make a video on memory loss with faces. when someone doesn't remember ppl's faces? is that a real type of memory loss?
What's funny (or not); people are so aftraid of dementia but so many are not willing to change their diet.
Love your videos, music to loud ! Distracting.
Why oh why, do your videos have to be so long
I believe in comprehensive education and think many people want this approach to understanding their own brain, as well.
They were packed with valuable information. I have been reading lots about this and I can't see it being any shorter.
There is a lot of information to process here, and the length of the lesson is perfect.
As someone with ADHD, I can tell you that it helps to watch videos like this over time for 20 minutes at a stretch.
@@cassandraland5216 Great strategy!
