There always seems to be a stage in every game that just sucks. The ruin levels are exactly that. The levels are boring, the bonus stage is lame (if you're serious about getting 100% on it, you almost have to sacrifice health), and it has the hardest boss in the whole game (yes, even harder than the final boss). Not even hard in a strategic way, just hard in a throw-a-bunch-of-nearly-unavoidable-crap-at-you kind of way.
Sorry for the sub-par gameplay, but I really don't like these levels. Oh, and I forgot to unlock that stupid dog. Worry not, I'll go back and unlock him on my own time.

As ironic as it is, this is my favorite world. Everybody hates it because it doesn’t provide much challenge and it’s long. But in my opinion it’s actually really cool and I love it, the music is fitting and the boss is cool. It also gives me that deep, dark feel. That’s why it’s my favorite world in the game.

I was 8 on my first attempt to beat the anubis boss. Only when i replayed it 8 years later i could pass to the next section jaja

Anubis Rex and King Galaxian are the two best bosses in the original Pac-Man World. The Ruins and Space are personally my two favorite.

Here's the order of bosses hardest to easiest.
1st Anubis Rex. 2nd King Galaxaian 3rd Tie for Krome Keeper and Tocman
4th Gms Windbags 5th Clown Prix (Because you didn't have to fight. It was just a race.)

Out of all the six bosses in PacMan World, I'll have to say the Ruins one is the hardest. The fourth stage is the worst, because you have to have good timing with the Rev Plates and the rev rolling.

Anubis Rex is the hardest boss Ive ever played.
And to think this is a kids game...
it takes me 45 minutes for 60 lives, 9000 is 133 times that, it means that takes 45X133 minutes (5985). and i don't even play it anymore because my ps1 is broken

I found Anubis Rex to be very easy. I only really found the funhouse levels challenging.
i know, galaxian took me years to beat it is the hardest in the whole game
maaaaaaaaan i hated the ruins, too many tricks; hiddent spiders, action-figured lookin men that turned into tornadoes and all that extra cr@p!

PS1 has better graphics than N64. I mean Mario 64 is graphicly speaking nice game, but look at the texture, colour and shape of mario. The colours on mario don't have shadows so he looks like an updated polygon character. Yes it does offer a full 3D expirience where you can go around and just do notnig unlike the Crash Bandicoot which is released same year for ps1. PS1's game characters are better, than n64 but n64 offers great game world to explore.
I still have this game and I rarely play the boss level because it is so fucking hard!

i really hate the anubis rex boss! i was in there with over 500 lives before it and then after it i was with less than 220 lives so it stole me about THREE HUNDREDS (300) of LIVES for ONLY ONE level! then after about 70 hours (one hour each day) i've got to over 2500 lives

But you gotta give something, they didn’t have much of a choice with a GBA
@@pokeyclyde2428 But why a GBA version? I mean, I like how game developers go the extra mile and "port" console games to a less powerful platform by remaking it from scratch, but you would think they could have used better sound.
