- How can you tell if you or your child has scoliosis?
Here are 6 signs to look for:
1. Uneven shoulders
2. Shoulderblade sticking out
3. Rib hump in forward bend
4. Uneven waist
5. One hip sticks out
6. One leg looks or feels longer
If you notice one or more of these in you or your child, consult with a healthcare professional.
Having one of these does not necessarily mean you have scoliosis, but is rather a flag to get it checked.

lol I have all of these and was diagnosed a few days ago. I have sco-liosis but I wish I had no-liosis. makes me feel unbalanced when I walk. bleh!
Hi Laura, thanks for sharing your experience - do you have a healthcare professional who's knowledgeable in scoliosis that can help guide you through treatment and provide support?
@TSCConnect I've been referred to a physical therapist but haven't gone yet. Hopefully, they'll know what I need them to. And my doctor who diagnosed me, idk how much she knows about it but she wants to see me again a month from now and I like her a lot so far. Thank you for responding and for asking. 🩷🩵💜
@@lauragraves4342 Where in the world are you located? we can make some suggestions if there are scoliosis-trained therapists in your area :)
@TSCConnect Awesome. I live in Mulhall, Oklahoma, U.S.A.

I have diagnosed scoliosis , and i can Say this Is pretty much accurate , ive dealt with It since when i was a Little kid .
Seeing scoliosis surgery videos makes me nervous tho
You aren’t alone! If you might be eligible for surgery, please talk to your surgeon to discuss which procedure they would use so they can walk you through all the steps before and after ☺️
I have all of these, I’ve dealt with scoliosis since I was 6 (I’m 13 now) and it sucks
I hate being so off balanced
We feel you - do you have a scoliosis-trained physio that you work with to support you?
@@TSCConnect no I don’t, sadly
where in the world are you located? there may be someone close to you

Google Schroth therapists in your area - there are quite a few amazing ones!
im a teen and i just got diagnosed with it like two months ago (37% curvature) and they cant get me in until october to talk to a surgeon and the doctor hasnt been responding but im having horrible pain in my neck and back. i have uneven shoulders and a shoulder blade sticks out
Thanks for sharing your story! You aren’t alone. Try to search for a scoliosis-trained Physical Therapist in your area. Where are you located?
i’ve been trained in ballet since i was 6 and stopped 2 years ago or so.. i’ve always had good posture but a while ago i noticed that one side of my waist is slightly more curved and i just noticed that my left shoulder is like the slightest bit higher than the other, im being paranoid because that’s what i do best 🔥🔥 but is this just normal asymmetry in the body or could it be something else??
it’s not like i think its gonna be severe scoliosis or anything but i just fear it could get worse so im trying to be especially mindful of my posture since it might’ve declined when i left ballet
It’s difficult to say if your asymmetry is caused by anything in particular without a physical assessment - where are you located?
I have a chance but it’s not severe. Thank god I don’t have scoliosis YET and hopefully I don’t get it as I age. It’s not severe it’s just my shoulder blade sticking out and my right collar bone hurts a little when U keep my shoulder down for too long but it’s fine! As long as I keep a good posture
It's good you're aware of it so you can monitor if your posture changes progress over the years
I was diagonsed with scoliosis 9 year ago...
Very minor scoliosis but It decreased my self confidence...
I stopped watching mirror...
During lockdown I gained some weight...
Its looks less prominent ...
Yes typically lower BMI shows a spinal curve more. If it's minor and you don't need treatment, that's great!
Today I literally just got diagnosed and it’s not that severe so I won’t have to have an operation but I’ve got to have a brace and physiotherapy
Where in the world are you located? Hopefully there is someone near you who can support you
I live in Basingstoke and I am just getting referred now to see a spine specialist in Southampton so yea I’m getting lots of support and thank you for caring xx
I am most likely gonna have the brace but there is a chance that I might have to have the operation
garou has this fr
cool!
I was already tested I do but I got more than this I also have spina bifita and well.... My back just really wanted to discombobulate didnt it
Scoliosis is a fairly common presentation secondary to spina bifida. We hope you’re found healthcare professionals to support you!
POV: You have scoliosis, spina Bifida, and club foot
Cảm ơn bạn!
thank you, your support is so appreciated!
I have scoliosis and I’m 12
Thanks for sharing, it's good it was identified early and we hope you find support in your area!
And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath day. And behold, a woman that had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years; and she was bowed together, and could in no wise lift herself up. And when Jesus saw her, he called her, and said to her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity. And he laid his hands upon her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God. And the ruler of the synagogue, being moved with indignation because Jesus had healed on the sabbath, answered and said to the multitude, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the day of the sabbath. But the Lord answered him, and said, Ye hypocrites, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering? And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan had bound, lo, these eighteen years, to have been loosed from this bond on the day of the sabbath? And as he said these things, all his adversaries were put to shame: and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.
It would be really a miracle if spines could be instantly straightened!

Those are a few examples of many healings from scoliosis through the healing touch of our good friend and physician Jesus Christ. 😁
I have all but idk if I have it
A healthcare practitioner like a family doctor can assess you and diagnose if you have it.
Dw i already had 2 surgery
do you have physiotherapy support to help with your rehabilitation?
I don’t understand the 3rd one
When you bend forward with your legs straight, and someone is looking at you from behind, is one side of your ribs higher than the other?
@@TSCConnect thankfully no, I appreciate your help
How much shorter does scoliosis make me look?
Depends on how big your curve is
@@TSCConnect Let’s say it’s moderate
@@GO5_X5_Guy It still highly depends on the side and shape and number of curves you have. The bigger the curve, the more it will affect your height
Me = 3
Wtf
These signs don’t necessarily mean you have scoliosis but rather perhaps you may want to get checked by a doctor
How do I fix this
Please see a scoliosis-trained healthcare professional near you who can assess your situation and recommend treatment. The treatments really vary depending on size and type and shape of your curve, as well as which symptoms you are experiencing
If you're still a kid you can wear a brace and do exercises. After your bones harden off they'll keep their shape forever though
@@blakeavila4409 I’m 19
@@blessingknowseverything9609 You have one year left. Look into the Schroth Method
If you get a brace, get one that allows movement and flexion. Lay on a rolled up towel on your humped out side for 18 minutes everyday
