Did you enjoy this style of video? I'm exploring the idea of potentially making this a reoccuring series. Let me know what you think in the comments and thanks for watching!
Yes, more of this please! (Also feel free to visit me in BedStuy, Brooklyn.)
@@DrMason I need to find someone to show me around that area! Good idea!
I love this format, good change, good information... thank you
@@joseluisalvareztorres7639 Fabulous! I'm so glad :)
Yes keep doing videos like this, it’s great 😁
I’m also from Brasil, best regards to Laura and l’ll be in NY next week.
Her place is incredible!!! I spent the worst of the pandemic living in an apartment in West Harlem facing a brick wall with barely any natural light and it definitely took a huge toll on my mental health. That natural light and view she has is EVERYTHING!!
I understand a dark apartment can take a toll on your mental health, but West Harlem is a much nicer safer neighborhood with more bars and restaurants. But that does make it more expensive and challenging to find a nice place.
My wife and I lived in East Harlem for 4 years. Sadly, it is a rough neighborhood but it is easy enough to avoid trouble by just using some common sense. (It isn't as rough as the South Bronx, though.) The advantages to living there outweigh the disadvantages. And as you just saw, it is very affordable!
I remembered asking for home tours close to a year ago. And this was a pleasant surprise! Keep it coming Sarah! I enjoyed everything, the home tour and the local spots. Beautiful home and views!
2 bathrooms, one can dream... great series idea and my offer stands if you want Park Slope (as soon as we arrange it for the baby stuff).
Yes, let's do it! Just let me know when you're ready :)
Oh, I love the final video! It was such a pleasure to show you my apartment, and I’m so glad you liked my recommendations - next time we go together! Hope you audience likes it! ❤️
Thanks for sharing your home with us! It was a pleasure :)
I love this video! And your dog is adorrrrrrable Laura. You did a great job explaining your area. I knew nothing about Harlem really until watching this video

She’s awesome right!
Born and raised in BK, but I moved to E Harlem from 2013-2017 to be closer to work. It’s great to see the neighborhood is still vibrant!
Used to have a 2bd1ba for 2400. Can’t beat the prices and space compared to anywhere else in Manhattan.
(Check out La Marqueta on park and 116! Great public market)
Glad to see Laura back to your channel. I got to know you through her. Loved the video.

Can I just say, I love seeing other Brazilians in NYC! 🇧🇷
Love her space and the windows!! The entire space is pretty big for NYC and pretty reasonably priced for a 2/2. I have a few friends in Harlem and I love the neighborhood!
Love this series! Can’t wait to see more🤍

I think the Conservatory Garden is so underrated. Thanks for sharing from this side of the pond here in England 🤗👍🏻😉
It is! I completely agree with you. Thanks for watching from England!
Sarah I didthe midtown Manhattan tour today. Very interesting. Sarah had a lot of interesting facts. When I got to top of the Rock. It started to rain!
I'm glad you loved it Eric! It's great to have you back on our tours :)
Very unique idea... Even cooler idea maybe you can take a mansion tour of some NYC millionaires! that would be awesome! I briefly was in harlem during my visit in June because I was in a hurry to catch a Broadway show that day! Thanks for sharing beautiful lady😘😘😘 xox
I work in East Harlem! Beautiful apartment.
Hi Sarah this video is very nice and specially your dress is outstanding ❤️🥰👌🏻
It's nice to see more diversity in Harlem
10:48 this location was used for a cutscene in spiderman ps4 which i thought was nice. Anyways nice video on this neighborhood, it definitely should be talked more and appreciate the hidden gems that were brought up
That’s a cool fun fact!
Wow so its not impossible to live in NY. Awesome Video!!! 🎊🎉
Of course not. There is multiple of ways to live in affordable neighborhoods in NYC.
this is great!! that is a huge savings, & looks like she can really 'get use' to that harlem location. there are plenty of nice spots in harlem--& in 'the bronx.' she is paying what i paid for a top floor railroad rental in chelsea, in 1999--i think i paid $1,400 a mo w/my roomate . . . i loved yur 4th NY firework live stream!! that park in queens didn't exist, when i lived there. it was SO immediate i couldn't reply . . .
Very beautiful 👍👍
Laura!! 👏🏾🥰🇧🇷
Ripped as always, Sarah 💪
Thanks haha
Is there a rooftop bar in nyc that allows teenagers to be there, such as Overstory?
unfortumately, so many people are afraid to visit Harlem, while visit Coney Island with it's ammusement park, and Coney Island neighborhood is more dangerous than South Harlem and West Harlem today. And there is a lot of interesting things they miss out on. And all because of Harlem's past reputation as THE dangerous neighborhood, while Coney Island wasn't safe neighborhood for a century, and it was still A dangerous during the NYC peak crime, it wasn't THE dangerous neighborhood, so this public perception.
LAURA!!! 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
My dream city
It is awesome!
The gentrification is strong, even in Harlem. I used to enjoy the strong African American community that existed there. Is that even in existence anymore? It seems that none of the white NY CZcamsrs want to mention that part of the neighborhood’s history. One even refused to call the neighborhood Harlem, even as they stood in front of the Apollo Theater. If this is the case, it is a shame.
I've actually given several tours of this area that focuses on the history of the area but this video was not about history. If you'd be interested in having me make a video about that then I'd love to. Just let me know!
I'm waiting for them to change the name Harlem to something else like they always do..
@@SarahFunky Yes please! Even if the demographics is changing, it still is great to remind people of an area’s history, much like what is done with Little Italy and Chinatown. I would hate to see the diversity and vibrancy that made NYC what it is today be erased by gentrification.
Here's what you gotta understand. Harlem wasn't always predominantly African American. It was only predominantly African American after the 1920s. Before that, it was predominantly European Americans that lived in Harlem during the 19th century. Hence the name "Harlem" because of the Dutch that lived in that neighborhood at the time. And even with the dominance of the African American population in Harlem after the 1920s, this wasn't even across the entire neighborhood. For example, East Harlem has never had a predominantly African American population. It was first Italian Harlem way before it became Spanish Harlem with a sizable African American population living there despite the predominant Latin American population. And most of the West side of Harlem had always had a good amount of European Americans living there that were mixed in with the African American population. Now, Central and North Harlem is where the population of African Americans made their true dominance in those sections of Harlem. But overall, Harlem has always been diverse after the growth of the African American population moving into the neighborhood.
@@chuckiea7011 I am well aware of the history of the neighborhood and the populations that have inhabited it, but you cannot argue that the African American population (and the history, music, and culture, that came with them) has left the most emblematic mark on the area, and is most associated with Harlem. Jazz, the Cotton Club, the Apollo Theater, Strivers Row, Frederick Douglass Boulevard, the Dance Theater of Harlem--all these icons of history and culture are born of the African American population that lived in this area. This is what people think of when you say Harlem, along with the not so great parts (poverty, crime, etc.) that is part of many other neighborhoods in New York. Yet it is that association with African Americans, both bad and good, that I am seeing erased with increased property values and gentrification. I am also seeing that here in Miami with the area that is now being called "Historic Overtown," which is real estate code for, "black people used to live here, but they don't anymore, so it's okay for you to buy a condo here." I am hoping that this is not happening in Harlem, especially around North and West Harlem, which seems to be increasingly identified by its proximity to Columbia University and Riverside Drive than as Harlem proper.
I would love a follow-up regarding the rental costs. This is a very beautiful apartment. I'm sure that this apartment is now in the upper 3,000s, probably close to $3,700/month now.
It's rent-stabilized. We just renewed the lease, and it's now $2940.
@@laura_peruchithat’s amazing
I would have liked to see the bathrooms.
What address is this? Are there anymore units available?
i just found your channel and watched a couple of these. as a single male, it makes me realize how unartistic i am. whenever i get around to buying my own place i really should just hire an interior decorator so it feels less cave like hah
haha I'm sure you have some artistic ability. But I love that idea of making the space less cave like!
No ty, can you do one in the financial district single person wp
I'd love to! I just need to find someone that lives there and will let me into their apartment haha
me watching this with like 50€ on my bank account lol
I hear you lol nyc is so expensive!
❤️❤️❤️🇧🇷❤️❤️❤️
2800??? Looking cheaper than astoria and long island city
Sarah Sid Bernstein used to eat at Patsy. Do you know who Sid Bernstein was? Sid brought the Beatles to America.
That is a fun fact!
🌹❤️
💕💕❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸
Don't they call that a Juliet balcony?
for that price you could pay TWO mortgages here where i live. Rent one and live in the other.
Totally.
Where do you live though 🙄
Good luck on staying safe there because it really is just a matter of time.
Gosh you’d never know she lives in New York would you! 😅
$2800 is alot for harlem and that long ride to go with it.
@Lovely_Day Thanks for the info.
Harlem is safe region...
$2,800 for 2-bed, 2-bath in NYC most likely comes along with a fair amount of personal risk living in the area.
Living in Gentrified* Harlem
East Harlem is a bit iffy. I personally wouldn’t feel comfortable living there. West Harlem near Columbia University is much nicer and has a better selection of bars and restaurants.
How come ur voice sounds different??? You had a 30 second spot vid the other day and I swore the voice was not yours!.....Your regular viewers notice these things!
Which video is the 30 second one you're speaking of. Maybe I was sick that day? I swear i didn't change my voice haha
@@SarahFunky Maybe it was a 50 second shorty?? It was just a couple days ago. I know something was different cause I love ur voice and you! Some day I'll make it to NYC and want to meet you on one of your tours.
@@j.castino7585 Hm, I don't know what to tell you about that but I'd love to have you on a tour!
War of 1812 - America stabs Britain in the back as we, Alone, fight the rampaging Emperor Napoleon. Thanks, Great Democracy!
Gentrified
Two bedroom for $2800 in NY? HUH?????
Growing up i never heard about white people living in Harlem
gentrification made vlog wow
5:50 As you said I love "cocaine"????
Cooking
This is like the First Harlem video ive seen that dont feature any black people 😑
I hope you at least respect the culture of Harlem.
This was a completely whitewashed tour and view of Harlem. Absolutely no regard for the rich history of Black and Latinx people who have lived there and still do and the historical and cultural places and sites there. As someone who has gone on a walking tour of Harlem and has learned more of its Black and Latinx history and culture, this video is very icky.
Y’all are whack
Love this series! 🤍 I pay that amount on California .. can believe it!
