    Ambition
    It’s ambition. Their ambition that sets them apart for most rock bands. The ambition to write a song like Giovanni. A song where Kanami essentially solos throughout and Miku writes lyrics to put over that!! Then Saiki and Miku develop incredible vocal melodies, harmonies and Saiki gives a remarkable vocal delivery. Misa lays down the usual mega-awesome bass guitar and Akane adds all the right percussion drive and accents.
    A true rock masterwork.
    This is the same ambition that led Jimmy Page to find a 20-year old blues singer and 19-year old drummer from the midlands and made the most important rock music of all-time. The ambition Queen had to record a 7+ minute song with opera in it that became an instant classic. The ambition Lee, Lifeson & Peart showed in 1978 when they wrote an 8 minute instrumental song they couldn’t play at live at the time but pushed their limits and skills and forced them to improve and become the most respected, then most loved, rock band on the planet for the next 40 years.
    That’s the same ambitious thinking driving the Maids forward to World Domination right now. Staggering to witness in real time!!
    Take care and rock on 🤘🏼🔥🎸🥁🎤🎼😎✌🏼

    It stuns me how some B-M songs such as this one have more parts than an IKEA warehouse and none of them should fit together, yet the talent in this group slots everything in place seamlessly and what should have turned out to be chaos and discord becomes a multilayered mini masterpiece, fcken unbelievable. Thanks for the back to back Tim and as always Viva the Maids Po 😄👍🎤🎸🥁🍻

    These girls constantly push themselves and each other to be better than the song before. Just imagine the day Kanami handed out the sheet music for this tune..... What I want is a documentary of Band-Maid taking one song from inception to finished product. I remember watching this LIVE streaming show during the plandemic between 3-5am EST with my jaw on the table. It reminds me of my time in concert band in Jr and High School playing these complex pieces, loved concert band.

    I can't single out any of them;
    they all stand out individually,
    and they all stand out together!
    A solid team, with no weaknesses.

    *"Unseen World"* is a very impressive album. It's punk rock, groovy 70s cowbell rock, alternative, progressive, chaotic, frenetic, always satisfying.
    Miku's guitar is a Zemaitis MFG-AC-24 Aces & 8s and yes, it's an etched metal front. Sometimes you'll see them listed as A24MF (24 fret metal front) but there are a lot of different body shapes and metal front etchings. You just know Miku saw that in the shop, saw the cards and money, and said "That's the guitar for me!"

    Band-maid takes what could/should be chaos and puts a bit in its mouth and takes it for a ride.

    Both versions were spectacular! Whenever I hear GIOVANNI I get 70s rock band vibes. I also think that by listening to it this way, I get a stronger feeling of Saiki and Miku's voices as pure instruments to go along with the song. The words don't matter, they could be scat-singing just as easily and it would sound as good.

    Miku's Zemaitis guitars are metal front, this one is her 'Ace's and Eights' in the instrumental which she used a lot ( best part of 4 years) before her signature guitar 'Flappy Pigeon' in the live version

    White Rooms🤤 1 down, 8 to go. Do Without Holding Back, maybe my favorite of the 4 original instrumentals.

    En fait je viens de comprendre en revoyant cette réaction pourquoi j'aime tant BM. La raison est toute simple: Prenez une chanson de BM, écoutez là, vous la trouvez géniale. Prenez la même chanson, enlevez la partie "chant", écoutez là, vous ne vous ennuyez pas arrivé au second couplet, c'est toujours aussi génial. Ce qui fait la grande différence entre BM et les autres groupes plus "classique", c'est que la partie instrumentale est tellement travaillée qu'on ne s'ennuie pas même si il n'y a pas de chanteur pour meubler, et on découvre une toute autre dimension à la chanson en question. Et contrairement aux autres groupes, c'est quasiment systématique. En général, les autres groupes trouvent un riff génial et le gardent jusqu'à la fin. BM va remettre le riff sur la table et le retravailler (altération du rythme, accords légèrement différents, la ligne de basse qui évolue ...)

    That' Miku's Zemaitis Aces & Eights. Including her Signature Flappy Pigeon, you'd be hard pressed to think of a Zemaitis she doesn't have. Giovanni' is a good instrumental, though musically I prefer 'From Now On' & 'Without Holding Back'.

    I think this song could be defined as progressive rock. I still don't understand why Kanami's crazy riffs are covered by the vocals (I don't mean that I don't like the vocals or that they are unnecessary). Especially in this song, the guitar sound should have been more prominent.
    Now let's try "I Still Seek Revenge" and "H-G-K" from the Unseen World album😉.

      Because it's crazy it would've interfered with vocal melody if guitar was any louder in the mix. And the song is kind of incomplete as an instrumental because it has so many repeated riffs. white room version is perfect to see what's going on instrumentally, but it doesn't sound complete without vocals for me.

  • @agdtec
    @agdtec Před 4 měsíci

    The instrumentals are a song meant to give Saiki a chance to rest her vocals. Band Maid are always concerned with Saiki's vocal health after she developed Polyps and required surgery.
