Sergej Krylov (violin), RNO, Mikhail Pletnev (conductor). 2008
Sergej Krylov was born in 1970 in Moscow in a family of musicians - the famous violinist Alexander Krylov and pianist, teacher of the Central Music School at the Moscow Conservatory Lyudmila Krylova. He began violin lessons at the age of five, having first entered the stage a year after the start of classes. He graduated from the Central Music School at the Moscow Conservatory, a student of professors Leonid Kogan and Sergey Kravchenko (among his teachers are Volodar Bronin and Abram Stern). At the age of 10, he first performed with an orchestra and soon began intensive concert activity in Russia, China, Poland, Finland and Germany. By the age of sixteen, the violinist had several recordings for radio and television.

I have heard this concert many times with diferent soloists including the best. And I must say both Krylov and Pletnev showed me totally new lights of this master piece armony, tempo and ensamble. It is a full interpretation: soloist and orchestra like one rich voice. That shows both not only the virtuoso skills of Krylev but his discipline and maturity and specially the fine work of Pletnev.

Слышала Крылова вживую. Испытала такой восторг, что несколько месяцев под впечатлением! Неповторимые эмоции вызывает его игра.

Film Directors must absolutely understand that people who want to listen & watch a Concerto with Soloist want ABOVE ALL to watch & see ...the SOLOIST !,even when that soloist doesn't play the principal theme, even when he/she is "just accompanying or listening" .For specialist & no specialist, every details about Soloist Attitude,Gesture on Stage are precious. Moreover,it's possible, technically, to show everything simultaneously (Soloist & any wind player for instance).Thank you & Bravo!

This is mine ViolinConcerto Favorite. The soloist can the density required by Sibelius in this masterful concert. The Sergey Krylov approaches the brilliant violinist Christian Ferras, unsurpassed to this day as the best interpreter of this concert

Слава Богу, что не оставляет Россию нашу, "кровью умытую" и дает нам и всему миру такие таланты, как Сергей Крылов. Это поистине окрыляет к жизни на фоне гнусных клептократов так старательно уничтожающих нашу самость...

I would not be so sure... In public performance he usually plays a violin made by his father, Alexander Krylov

@@stzgan7728you don't know what you're talking about. In the last 2 years he played on 12 (!!) Stradivari and 2 Guarnieri. He has a partnership with the Cremona Violin Museum. He also owns instruments by his father, a fine violin maker.
And he IS one of the best in the world

Krylov does not slide into that high "b" flat at 7:10 like other soloists - he just nails it cold, like Heifetz.
