How to Reset your Mac Before Selling it

You need to reset your Mac before giving it to someone else as a gift or selling it. Resetting any Mac requires the same process regardless of the model.
You will have to go through the same steps for iMac, Macbook, Macbook Pro, Mac Pro, Macbook Air, and Mac mini.
Using the following steps, you will reset any Mac to factory settings.
In this video, we will reset a Mac in 4 easy steps.
Step 1: Backup your Mac using Time Machine.
Step 2: Sign out of iCloud, iMessage, iTunes, and any other app you are signed in.
Step 3: WARNING: Format your hard drive (You will lose everything, so make sure it is backed up)
Step 4: Install a new Mac operating system.
You can now leave it on the welcome screen for the new owner to set up as they please.
