- So definitely not a full on camper van but a secure way of moving around with your bikes in tow.
After some sleepless nights with the bike on the back of our T5 bike rack I thought it might be a nice idea to move the bike inside?
Here’s my thoughts behind the idea and what I thought may make a decent alternative to the bike rack.
Mounted by inside the van on an MTB vans fork mount and rail the bike sits down the middle with the cabinet on the offside running the full length and a 1700mm slide out bed and sofa on the near side.
Lots of storage under the bed and in the cabinet and the potential to include a full size (CRX 50 etc) fridge in the cabinet along with hob and sink if desired.
This tin top roof has bars and cross bars so could also be used for transporting your canoe, kayak or other large items on top.
Wipe clean Altro flooring keeps things easy to maintain and chairs stowed away on the tailgate means you always have them to hand.
Fiamma F45s wind out awning ready to go means you can stop for lunch in the shade and work on your bike out of the sun too.
Vegan (plant based) leather seats up front and bamboo worktop helps with the sustainability of the build.

Great solution for the bike. Please can you give details of the rail, fork mount and fitting bolts/nuts (and where to buy them) for securing the rail down to the factory lashing points?

Great setup, did you build the furniture up from flat pack, where did you get it from please ?
This is a custom set up which we commissioned. We are now making and building similar set ups ourselves. These will be available next year.
Where did you get removable brackets n thumb screws please?

So where does mrs bike go?
We’ve put another rail up the front so the other bike can fit in the opposite direction. Sorry we were waiting for this and it arrived after I shot the video.
Before the new rail went in we would remove the sofa to bring both bikes.
