    This was the video that prompted me to join your Patreon. I primarily learn by doing, so I typically setup a game and do a mock playthrough before I am comfortable teaching it. However, your videos on Tekhenu and Tawantinsuyu allowed me to learn the games (I watched each twice for full comprehension) without ever touching the board until the first play, and both were among the smoothest teaches I have ever done and both have become part of my group's game rotation.
    Other than just being thorough and explaining things in a logical order, one part of your style that works so well for me is when you illustrate possible exceptions or situations that might be unclear while you are teaching the corresponding rule. Often, these are hard to find in a rulebook, sometimes being logically placed near the corresponding rule (such as in an Uwe Rosenberg game) but other times tucked away in other paragraphs or FAQs in different sections or even online. Many times, they are just not present at all, leading to a lot of BGG forum-diving to find answers.
    It is your overall thoroughness and attention to detail that make your board game instructionals for what are some pretty complicated games my go-to. I think I am at the point that if a heavy Euro game is released that you have not covered, I can just be patient for a future video from you.
    Thank you for your amazing work!

    14:33 - each other player may buy a weaving for 2 corn, not 3. The player aid is correct.

    The thing that impresses me most about your channel is your unique ability to show me how to play all the games I actually want to acquire :-)

    I can’t wait to watch this whole thing. I pre ordered this game but haven’t even read the rule book! We received a crokinole board in September and haven’t been able to stop playing every night when deciding what to do, we pull out the crokinole board instead. I need to put my foot down and say “tonight we’re playing a board game!” Lol

    You got a new describer as I look if there is a „nutshell“ Video before I read the rules:) Great videos! But I do miss a Brass Birmingham video...😜

      Thanks! 😄 Brass is great but there's so much demand for new games that I don't really have time for these old jewels, unfortunately. 😊

    Nice explanation! Just so I understand the descending cost correctly: 1.) You may place your worker on any level even if there are no stairs built at all, but it just makes it very expensive? 2.) If you have a stair case built in the same section above the cost is reduced up to 4 food depending on the level, but not if the stair case is in another section?

    btw I think you have mixed up Dávid Turczi and Daniele Tascini :)

    Great video, awesome job!
    About the army cards, you can discard to get the resource of the card, but does the card have to be in your hand? Can you do this with the card that is face up or face down in front of you?

    • @nithrania-gameinanutshell
      @nithrania-gameinanutshell  Před 3 lety +3

      Those army cards have to be in your hand. Once played in front of you, they act as soldiers and cannot be exchanged for resources.

    Which one do you prefer? Tekhenu or Tawantinsuyu?

    • @nithrania-gameinanutshell
      @nithrania-gameinanutshell  Před 3 lety +7

      Well, difficult question 😊, Tekhenu was a little too over-complicated for my taste, and not just for me, even for the entire group. We like Tawantinsuyu just a little bit more. However... if I may spoil things a bit... if I have to choose one of these two games, I would choose - MERV! 😄 Similar game concepts to these T-games, but sooo much easier to grasp and so enjoyable! Tutorial coming this week! ☺️

      I think those games are different enough that comparing them to each other directly is a little difficult, but I'd say, with a gun to my head, that I prefer Tekhenu. Although both are great!

      @@nithrania-gameinanutshell wow glad I stumbled onto this comment because I didn't get any of the new "T" games for that reason , over complicated rules , I will pre order Merv for sure now .

    • @nithrania-gameinanutshell
      @nithrania-gameinanutshell  Před 11 měsíci

      Pretože žiaľ nemám kapacitu všetky anglické videá predabovať do slovenčiny; a nie je ani dosť odberateľov, ktorí by kanál Nithrania viac podporovali finančne, aby som prípadne za dabovanie mohol niekomu zaplatiť.

    You incorrectly attribute games to this designer (David Turczi) that he wasn't involved in at the opening of the video. I know this, because I do the exact same thing for some reason with these two designers.
    You said he's designed a lot of "T" games. You're confusing him with Daniele Tascini, who designed/co-designed a lot of "T" games:
    Tzolk'in: The Mayan Calendar (2012)
    Teotihuacan: City of Gods (2018)
    Trismegistus: The Ultimate Formula (2019)
    Tekhenu: Obelisk of the Sun (2020)
    Tabannusi: Builders of Ur (2021)
