The hilarious part about this rant is it comes right before the most success the Jets have had in recent times (2 AFCCG appearances) and now they are so much worse than they were right at the time this rant happened.
Yeah but at this point it looked impossible to make the playoffs we got extremely lucky to get in that year the last two games we played backups and the Steelers lost a couple big games we were very lucky
Rex called the season after the game and it turned out that it wasnt. Beating the Falcons would've strengthened their hold at the playoffs. The Jets winning Week 1 in Houston ended up being the tiebreaker to get them in.

I wish I was older when Joe was in his prime so I could hear him at his best on the regular. I’ve always loved him, but clips like this take him from great to legendary in my mind.
Every year the Jets have game that have me saying exactly: “How do you lose to this team?”. In 23-24 it was the: First Patriots game Chargers Game Raiders Game Falcons Game (at home, late season again)
2009 saw them lose a number of games they had no business losing. This game, the Bills game where Thomas Jones shreds their defense for like 210 yds, but Sanchez threw 5 picks and they lost in OT, and the ones Joe mentioned.
Heh, this in a year when we made it to the AFC Championship game. Fast forward eleven years later and we’re on the verge of an 0-16 season. I yearn to go back to these days of Jets football now!😂

This was the season where they went to San Diego and ended like a 10 game winning streak and Joe and Evan were celebrating on air. Great audio.
