What is the Core Ship? The ball ship of Geonosis was actually one of the most important CIS ships during the Clone Wars. See how this Star Wars ship compares to other Republic and Separatist Ships like the Munificent-class Frigate, Venator-class Star Destroyer and Acclamator-class Assault Ship. Learn how it was used in the Lucrehulk battlehship before the Battle Of Naboo, and how Republic Commando stopped many CIS Core Ships from leaving Geonosis.

Can we just start calling this the Lucre? That way when it gets angry it can become the LucreHulk.
Lol
Yes
Oh yeah its big brain time
Yes
Yea it flexes its arms lol
What if they built a really big one with a planet-destroying laser?
Fly in the hanger and conveniently be aiming at the reactor just to fire two bolts a win the war while getting out barely consumed by fire.
No. Death Star isn’t catchy enough. How about “Really Big CIS Core Ship with a Planet-Destroying Laser”?
We’re gonna cal it death 💀 core
When I was young I thought the core ship was the same thing as the Death Star but without the laser, I was like 6
The death star super weapon is bigger than it so no
When a random ship in Science Fiction has more sources than your book report
Lost it at the unknown amount of dioxis gas
Logistically with its low crew requirements (not counting the thousands of droids) this makes a great ship for rebels as a mobile base or just a independent vagabond merchant company post Clone Wars.
But you could definitely see it from a long way away and are VERY vulnerable.
But it's very easy to see and if Republic lasers can pierce it then empire tech can certainly pierce it too. But would still be cool to see it as a mobile base
@@quinncaie2593 It's funny because in this guy's video at 3:30, kinda refutes your point on being 'very vulnerable'
@@GentlesirGibbles wow guess I wasn't listening
If I was the rebels I would add more secondary reactors, engines and a class 1 Hyperdrive and turn it into a medical ship. With its ability to make planetfall and large space it could treat or evacuate up to 60k beings easily.
To answer the poll, it was Darth Sidious who was responsible. He did this to have a reason to start a war and create the clone army, which would later kill the Jedi. The whole CIS was basically a scare tactic to eventually create the empire.
Sound familiar?
The ultimate 'false flag'.
Create enemy, it leads to fear for you to militarize and build a grand army directly under your command. Use said army to destroy the enemy you created and seize control of the entire government in a coupe ''to protect the citizens'' classic.
I always thought they were the center of the Droid control ships
Yes, he explains that. The Lucrehulk.
They are
They are & they’re also core ships variants that were modified, also they can turn them into headquarters or a ship of its own that don’t have to connect to its circle body.
Same
I always thought that
I remember Windu saying that every one of those core ships carried an army large enough to conquer a planet by themselves. I think it was from the Clone Wars game from 2002, the first mission on Geonosis, I think.
Stormtroopers and Tie Fighters should be able to hit a target of this size right, right!?
Stephen Lutz mmmm idk idk
Well.. it's not a main character so... yeah i guess they won't miss huh
Dont confuse tie fighters aim with stormtroopers aim.
Totally different things.
Well maybe
It’s dummy thick do kinda yes
No
This was the first Death Star. It was also a pain to get through in Republic Commando.
@Scott Gr Then it would just be a mini Death Star
You could have showed the scene in AotC where they attach on to the ring to form a lukrehulk at the end of the battle of geonosis.
When was that?
@@infinitecanadian I THINK it's when the solar sailer unfurls but take that with a grain of salt
@@notsampletext3740 no that's correct
@@sirhc_knil yay
I had to look it up. czcams.com/video/PNiI41Ylx5s/video.html
I always had a good time watching these ships fall down in the game Star wars: Clone wars. Also don't forget there was one left on Geonosis in Star wars Rogue squadron 3.
What about republic commandos. That was super fun.
ReaperODeath yeah it sure was. :)
@@gc6096 I just played it today
ReaperODeath nice I played a couple of weeks ago. :)
Guess what? Your rogue squadron 3 means NOTHING to the power of DISNEY!! *marks rs3 as non-canon*
it looks like a mini death star
seriously, the war to win a battle before it begins in mean's of hunger
" for wolves, take away all the food and they will work together, but leave them scrap's and they will kill each other for the little food they have"
cruel, but effective when wanting the enemy to kill each other in a war
Good quote.
For Honor much?
@@morax1030 actually where I got that
smart right

leon fierce Not that smart, just phrased well.
I never realized that the Skytop station was a coreship
Yes! Technically it was a modified version known as a Battlesphere, just a Lucrehulk Core Ship equipped with multiple reactors and hyperwave transceivers to make it an efficient Separatist listening post :D
@@matodiniv I always thought it was but I wasn't sure.
How big was the Star Forge and how many ships could it hold and how fast could it bulid ships?
" they've gone up the ventilation shaft"
Charles Cyphers *close the blast doors*
Relase dioxine gas in to the ventilation shaft XD
You ever wonder how many miles of these ventilation shafts they had to crawl trough to get from a point near the opening of the docking bay to the top of the core ship? That's an adventure in and of itself and it probably would have been an even better movie than what we got. lol
482lost yeah that's true, but reading again what I wrote I kinda got it backwards. The went in the shaft in the core ship first and then went to the docking bay. Oh well I guess it would still be the same distance either way though so it doesn't matter that much. Even so it would still have been quite a trek in itself.
oohhh my~
From the looks of phantom menace, it looked like a cool ship to own.
2:26 That's one heck of a flame trench.
I love the background music. Really suits the star wars universe and doesn't draw too much attention while creating an relaxed and interested mood👍
As much as I like your videos detailing plot and other categories of lore.
My favorite are the breakdowns like this one...excellent.
Still my favorite Star Wars Lore source.
Thanks that is a great compliment. And don't worry we got book stuff coming this weekend but also one of my favorite droid/ships of the CIS
Heh, imagine if one of these were converted into a Hotel of some kind. Just for kicks.
I hope at some point you’ll make an updated video with what we see of the core of the Lucrehulk Primacy on Koboh in Jedi: Survivor!
Isn't this the Lucre without the Hulk?
Or the Lucre without the donut?
ALERT! CRITICAL SYSTEM FAILURE! IN TWO MINUTES!
*Sweaty palms intensifies*
Mr. Mustang The only way I won that the first time is it glitched and I finished the mission.
That was a tough mission. I remember when I got to the end (after a few tries lol) and my pick up arrived, it started counting down the last 10 seconds.
I'm like "CUT THE CHATTER, LETS MOVE"!
That mission was difficult
I managed to get it done with almost a full minute to spare. It was hard as hell, but totally worth it.
Bring back memories when playing republic commando. Ah the memories miss u delta❤️
Stuff like this makes you realise how big the scale of the battle at the end of Attack Of The Clones actually was.
I've always appreciated your terms of measurements 🤣

Great Video
Awesome video :)
Amazing, thank you 🙃
This is one of my favorite Star Wars ships!
MAN! The Namoidian Core Ship is as big as a mountain, and super tough. It'd be interesting to know the metallurgy used it's construction, and JUST IMAGINE THE PROPULSION SYSTEM AND IT'S HYPERDRIVE "truly massive". After the propulsion is incapacitated" a Core Ship crashed into the Geonosian landscape with not so much as a scratch on it's hull.. "AGAIN" SUPER TOUGH"! I'm a galactic merchant with a Namoidian Core Ship armed with heavy turbo lasers and impenetrable shields to fight off Hondo's pirates, i'd be" "in Jango's words" just a simple man trying to make his way in the galaxy.

And then there was also the original battlefront 2 in the game of the month
"Cargo capacity=66 million cubic meters"

At least 3 possibly as much of 7 whole dewbacks, rather large innit.
Man I love this chanel and I just saw this video and it's even more detailed than someother chanels instantly subscribed
Thanks man welcome to the channel. Glad to hear you subscribed!
@@MetaNerdzLore oh and do you do some starship versus videos too just so I know😉
I loved the mission in republic commando where you split up and take down the core ship from multiple sectors and the thing is huge inside
I'd love to see a 3D rendition of 5 fully loaded and supplied Lucrehulks attackng the Death Star and it's support fleet. Considering the thousands of various starfighters it can carry, as well as probably land boarding parties on the Death Star, at least on the surface so the droids can conduct sabotage operations on the hull, it would be a massive headache for the Empire to deal with - especially if it's the DS1, which cant hit anything smaller than a moon or planetoid.
And Star Destroyers would have serious problems getting through the shields as well, and by the time they have taken out 1 or 2 Lucrehulks the Death Star might've suffered a lot of damage already - maybe enough to breach the shields somewhere, letting the droids swarm in and start bombarding the hell of out the station, if not just have a Lucrehulk fly at maximum speed into the battle station -if the ship just crashes into the DS-1 hull and most of the ship survives the impact, it could result in a DELUGE of battle droids swarming around everywhere.
Properly packed up, it can hold MILLIONS of droids. Especially B1s - just put them in racks as compacted as possible, and the Death Star troops would have to deal with a near-infinite flood of droids. That also includes the infamous Droidekas.
You didn't use the dewback measurement at 1:16, I'm speechless lmao
I wish we could make cool ships like this.
With how the Core ship looks, could that be where the idea for the Death Start idea or plans started from?
All most wonder if any of those Core ship or the peace it hooks up to could have been captured by pirates or other groups an have it turned into a base of operation for them or used as a type of spaceport?
i always loved the scene where it gos up then slams back down blowing up
Republic commando footage, that game is amazing and I played it growing up. $3.50 on steam right now, it's amazing
AKA union class dropship from battletech.
Great vid
That's what I thought when I first saw AotC "For House Davion, For The Duke!" 😄
The core ships were in TFU too, one core ship that i founded was small in the Imperial Felucca section after you escape the Sarlacc pit. Might be a error lol.
These ships are huge just played republic commando again and you go inside one of these and it was huge
This is such a cool channel
In my old d20 starwars game. I had one of those as the base of AEbloa the hut crime lords army. He controlled a star system with it. The players worked as smugglers for him. It was a good campaign.
U forgot: it’s also briefly in Rebel Strike, on the Relics of Geonosis mission
Used to play WestEnd games Star Wars. I had a hutt smuggler named Droga the Younger who used a stripped down one of these Core ships as his home/ship/base.
It was call "Swindler's Luck"
I had the towers removed and a lot of internal (and external) armor and shields added. It ate up a lot of cargo space, but she could take a hell of a hit. Star Destroyers had a hard time stopping her from jumping out of system.
Droga used a small hive of jawas as thieves. They all lived in the lower levels. The top was almost a palace. Filled with every vice he would invite planetary lord, Imperial governors, and rebel leaders up to discuss the availability of rare goods, then ply them with off world extravagance and delicacies.
He always operated as if he was merely the lieutenant of his dreaded sire, Droga the Elder but this was all a fabrication. No one would dare to harm the Younger Droga when the Elder Droga would destroy a planet to avenge his child.
Or so it was said in hushed rumors.
I lost the "Swindler's Luck" when I was smuggling the "stolen" first production run of T-65-A2 X-wings to the Rebel Alliance. An Interdictor-class Star Destroyer - along with it's twin Arquinten-class command cruiser escorts - trapped me just outside of the gravity well of Corellia. The Interdictor blew the hell out of her at close range, then tractored The Luck in to board.
That's when I reversed the repulsers and clamped her hard down to the cruiser's deck plates. We abandoned ship in my personal shuttle (escorted out by the X-wings, of course) while the "Swindler's Luck's" reactor blew a huge crater in that Imperial's belly.
Had a lot of fun with that big shiny ball.
I know it’s weird to comment a year from when it’s released but let’s not forget that he says “real world starships” it’s great
When I was young, around like 5 I thought that these were just Death Stars😂
A PART OF ME 😁❤️
I have a request. Can you make a video of imperial scout trooper and Kashyyyk trooper (clone scout trooper) armors comparison?
1:40 that dock is my hometown!!
I have always wanted a lucher hulk and a core ship my favorite one
XD didn’t even know the ball was from the lukrehulk
When my brother first saw one, he said, 'Isn't that the death star?', oh, laughed, I did.
Nice video
I'm pretty sure the Munificent wasn't destroyed by just the one SPHA laser hit, I think it was just the finishing blow after some brawling had already done some damage to it's shields.
3:51 as we find out in the rise of Skywalker, ships cannot activate their shields in atmosphere
Disney is dumb, the way most star Wars ships fly in the atmosphere is with shields
@@clone9159 true.
The core ship harvest is bountiful
They look cool
I feel really dumb at the moment,I always thought it was the spherical part of lucrehulk that could detach
it was, you can see them reattach on orbit when Dooku escapes
The SPHA's laying into the core ships on the surface look like they're aiming inside the landing gear which I would assume is hitting a lot of important stuff immediately inside
“You were right about one thing... the negotiations were short.” *Trollface*
At 4:27 I read that as GO SUPERVISORS for some reason 🤣
GO SUPERVISORS! SUPERVISORS GO GO!
The 2002 CW game had you babysitting SPHA-Ts while they take down Core Ships. Shame you couldn't damage it yourself with the Gunship.
*The Magog Cartel and Vyyker's Conglomerate would certainly have ships like these*
We need more ships that separate into smaller ships they are really cool i can only think of one other and that's the Mon cal ships.
4:45 Are you telling me they had a router about twice as big as the Millennium Falcon?
I remember the core ship part of the first mission on republic commando but I got blown up by the self destruction too many times as a kid I was baaaaad
Second!awesome video!
When will they ever make a sequel to republic commando!! I’m gonna have to dig out my disks and play after seeing that.
These core ships are the middle piece of the Lucrehulk class battleship, aren't they?
M Lau yes I do believe so
They are converted core modules (the middle) of Lucrehulk Carriers, so yes, you are right
I really love that we’re starting to use accelerations in space ships now. Because of course it makes no god damn sense that there would be a top speed outside of an atmosphere
Yeah makes no God damn sense at all God dammit. It's so f ing stupid man, pisses me the goddam off
I like it when they get shot down and explodey everywhere and take out lots of droids. :] WMD
I like how one of the towers is literally just avengers tower.
I rembered when i watched the prequels and seen this for the first time i was like: "Are those mini death stars?!"
If I was a jedi general I would so requesition some SPHAs to mount on the surface of my venator maybe even going so far as to maybe add some armor around where they would be located
They should've made the battles took like in the movies where you have to charge into CIS fortifications and the objective is to destroy the core ships. with the techno-union ships as command posts.
Personally I always liked these ships specifically for their adaptability. Though the Old Republic Era Sith Empire fleet are my #1
“Remind me to leave the ship BEFORE we blow it up next time!”
Republic commando?
Wasnt this ship used to transport the E.T.s saw in Ep. 1 to Earth for that wonderful movie E.T. …… Something between Lucas and Spielburg had worked out.
3:40 six there where six sp-ha's but one got destroyed half way through the attack.
also best comman ship and carrier. this ship should be in every space fleet.
Ikr? It was also shown to be quite adaptable, being able to be converted into a listening post and stuff. A pretty big target, but also well protected.
@@bluethunderbolt9631 not to forget that it took concentrated fire from six mini death star lasers and a crock load hundred some odd artillery shots before it fell. And had it's fule cell not been hit it would have probably made it to orbit.
@@zebjensen4251 Yes... That's what I don't understand:if it's shields are so strong, why did it fall so easily? Or were they not activated at the time?
@@bluethunderbolt9631 well it was getting pumled by six vehicles that are spacificly designed to take out capital ships even from space. And a whole bunch of ground artillery. So all that fire on one area of the ship all at once might have just been too much for it.
@@zebjensen4251 True... True...

Techno Union rocket ships next, thank you.
So its the partial inspiration to the Death Stars shape?
Good question. The thought crossed my mind too. Didn’t the CIS design the Death Star (as seen at end of episode 2) on genosis. Maybe the trade federation had a large hand in its design. I’m not too well versed in lore. Maybe that metanerdz fella could explain further.
Yea it’s cool and all but is it enough to stop jar jar
First! Why did you stop doing the bloopers?! I miss those!
Do a video on the Chu’unthor
If I were to travel the galaxy, I’d use a lucrehulk as a sort of RV in space
So theoretically this could be a modular ship, it doesn’t need to connect to the huge hangers of the full lukerhulk, it could connect to a battleship section ? Or even several connect to a supper structure to form a space station....... I would have liked to have seen this, I don’t think they took advantage of its full potential.
First time i saw theses ships, i was like...IT'S SPACEBALL CITY!!!
