With Houdini 20 we got our first official machine learning node from SideFX. While we previously had example scene files that did machine learing related stuff or plugins like mlops, this is the first machine learning tool that you get just by installing Houdini. So we should take a look at what it does and what we can use it for!

I never cease to be amazed by the quality of your content! This is bleeding edge stuff and you managed to break it down into practical, actionable steps. Thank you!
Thanks for the insights. Look forward to more ml in houdini
I believe it's time for us to start learning machine learning before we fall behind.
I’ve been a software engineer for almost 20 years, I dabble in Houdini as a hobby. When I saw Midjourney for the first time a couple years ago, this was my first thought. I dropped everything I was doing to pick up ML. It was probably the best decision I could have made.
I spend most of my day job working with LLMs now but I’m daydreaming about all the cool things that I could do in Houdini with AI/ML models everyday.
There is so much opportunity for invention at the intersection of these tools and Houdini. Yet, there is so much vocal angst and drama around the technology in the adjacent spaces. What these people don’t know is that they have more power than they realize.
If more people understand ML/AI more people can take control of it for themselves and use their proprietary data to their advantage.
Loved this tutorial, great introduction to machine learning in houdini!
thank you so much, such an interesting subject and clear explanations, as always !
Great info, thank you!
Thank you this is great!!!
willl you please introduce about LinearSolver?
awesome! thanks for tutorial! one minor crit = inference is pronounced inFURence or inFRence , to infer . the pronunciation is useful to disambiguate from interFEARence
How do I get this onnx1 node
never been more confused in my life
First
Huh? lol I can’t wait until AI makes this stuff 1000% more simple. Just feels like it’s complicated for the sake of being complicated.
