So relatable, which makes it hilarious 😂 always during the glue up!

Love the vids! Please keep them coming! A thought: tape the upper block to the crest & the wedges to the bottom/foot of the clamp. Hopefully, it'll prevent any potential "Hulk smash anger boiling point" in the future. I've dealt with the more complex/cumbersome glue-ups & it helps.

Thanks for watching! I'm very exited about that slab I've had it for six months and I'm dying to make it into a table. The second I spotted it at the sawmill I bought it right away.I don't have a buyer for it yet but I'm certain it will sell quickly. I'll be sure to film the build.

oh i must have misunderstood, thought you said the set of chairs where for the same client as the table.. and yeah, looking forward to seeing what you will create with it, i'm using walnut for the first time making new handles (tote it's called in english i guess) for an old plane, to bad the juglans nigra isn't planted a lot here in parks and such, i did find a big one in bruges and got some nuts which i planted.. won't be for me to work with but hey it's a gift for the next generation.. cheers @@donyacovella1230

Perfect timing on a very well done video. I purchased 6 identical chairs from a woodworker's estate, 2 of which were assembled and I am getting ready to do the other 4. This will be significantly above my skill level but going to try anyway. Big question. How did you reference the Domino for the curve of the crest rail and the trapezoidal end of the leg? I wanted to use a 10mm domino for the strength but since the curve of the crest does not match the angle of the leg faces, I was going to resort to a 1/2” dowel and use an old Craftsman doweling jug to keep it going straight.

Thanks for watching James! That’s a tough one to explain with words alone.M On my chairs the curve of the crest rail and the angle of my chair leg to align well enough for a domino.I don’t know if your chairs will be the same.Try it out on some scrap first the domino will do unexpected things with all those compound angles and curves.A round dowel will be the easiest way out

Thanks for watching John sorry I don’t have plans I can share online. One of my clients had some original Nakashima chairs and asked me to build two more for him.I was able to make wood templates from the originals.

I noticed you included sap wood in the crest rail of this chair. Also noticed it in the crest rail of the conoid bench. Intentional? Or just thrifty?

I very intentionally use sapwood I love the contrast but not everyone agrees.I do talk to clients before I build and learn about their preferences many of them prefer uniform color. Thanks for watching

What did you use to cut out the complex joinery? Especially the feet. Router with template or table saw?

Combination of both table saw and router with many jigs and templates

Would have a plan of the chair that one could use to build the chair?
