For everyone saying you can just do it with your hands, it's a bit more difficult to apply even pressure all the way through and break all the rows evenly, so this makes for a nicer presentation. Not to mention even for something like melting, where appearance doesn't matter, it's a bit quicker and less fiddly. It's just another option.

Pretty handy, but what about just breaking not opened chocolate bar with your hands? You do not need tools and you can do it anywhere. It works well for me but I apply it to soft and easily breakable milk chocolates. I suppose your way is more universal especially for high quality hard chocolate like Cadbury or Lindt.
Also, in your hands it melts and is sorta unhealthy if your hands are dirty and you are sharing the chocolate with other people.

I wonder how well it'll work with the local chocolate packaging used here ... the brand I use for cakes and such comes wrapped in tin-foil, and in paper, and not a flexible sealed plastic like the one in the video, both the paper and the tin foil can easily rip ...

The chocolate that you are using is one of my most fav chocolate
This obviously doesn't work with cheap chocolate bars like Hershey's this only works on quality chocolate that is kind enough to make each square really thick
