For anyone who doesn't get it, the trick doesn't create more chocolate (of course) but it makes the 4th row smaller through a series of geometrical adjustments.

The “extra” piece’s area is equal to the crack missing where he cut the chocolate.
That would just mean there's a second extra piece on the table in pieces.
Edit: Nevermind, just realised that they didn't mean the crumbs falling off, but the missing part required for the pieces near the "crack" to actually be whole.
In case anyone else is confused:
The pieces that are pieced together diagonally don't become fully whole. They lack about 25%. 4 pieces lacking 25% each equal to 1 extra piece.

For the people who didn’t understand was that the little gap in the chocolate when he cut it is equivalent to the piece of chocolate to took out

So I did this on graph paper, took a 6cmx4cm rectangle and cut exactly like you said. When I rearranged the pieces I found out 2.5 mm of height was short...so a strip of 4cm x 2.5 mm was missing....which has an area of 1cm equal to the chunk I removed....but i'd say go ahead and do this to your friends chocolate because ain't nobody noticing that difference

Actually, there is no infinite chocolate. If you look closely at the diagonal cut, the squares are smalles, and the rest of these squares are in the remaining chocolate square that isn't in the bar.
Basically the part he cut in the middle is equal to that one piece

That’s just like my homework, I count all of my papers then finish it all but then a extra paper just comes out of nowhere
I think I've figured it out.
The reason why it appears that he multiplied it is because he swapped the right piece and left piece (piece he cut one off of). The left piece (new right piece) Is already 3 pieces long, so it fits normally (besides for the fact that there is no middle piece to separate the chocolate and is therefore pushed down a little. The right piece (new left piece) is is where the illusion comes into play. It's a little bit above where it was before the shuffle, as you can easily compare and see that there is a larger gap between the bottom half and top half of the chocolate, but by being pushed up, above where it was before, it appears to look like the same size.

I think that when you cut the pieces that was a line in the middle so I think when you connected the pieces in a different order that was a little bit of a gap in the chocolate so maybe if the extra piece of chocolate goes in the middle then it will probably fill out the whole chocolate bar like it was in the beginning.

Yep it is a simple solve since you cut the chocolate at presumably 45 degree angle the bar at the far left will be 4 pieces long will the furthest column on the right will only be 3 so by removing the top piece of the far right column and moving what's left the the far right column and taking the far right column and moving it left by 1 pice you get what seems to be the same size chocolate bar with an extra piece however the overall length of the chocolate bar is reduced by 1/4 a single pice in length but at such a small scale it is hard to see the difference

Unfortunately - it's actually a simple maths puzzle that has been around for several years.
When the diagonal cut is made from the second bar on the left side up to the third bar on the right, it allows the person moving the chocolate to sneakily take out an extra layer along the width of the bar, making the third from bottom row smaller.
This missing layer is equivalent to the square taken and put into the cup, but is hardly noticeable because the viewer counts each square - and doesn't actually measure the chocolate bar.
Put simply - the missing chocolate square is taken off the length of the bar, instead of a gap in the top left corner.

i know why there is extra chocolate, there is no extra piece. the actual bar you were left with was shorter and had less chocolate, as a matter of fact, it had one pieces worth less of chocolate and that piece u took was actually exactly that amount. if you look closely at the tilted cut, you can actually see that the pieces around it have less chocolate. i hope this explanation helps!

It's an integral problem.
You see the area of the one piece remaining is exactly the area of the in between space of the cuts, so basically if you try to do the cut as perfect as possible the in between space of the integral (limes x ->0) convergates towards the one piece. In other words it just looks like the before but it's not.
