"We ain't no nincompoop" ❤❤ I love that part!!
👍🏽
Me too! 😂😆
"I'll shoot anyone that says a word starting N". That was my favorite part too.
@@bigman72511 that was the best line in the movie.
i like "you pretty tho".. haha the way she said "tho" gets me everytime
Her accent was a big feature me to be honest. The film felt so real because of her. Amazing! Bless her.
Regina needs her flower. she's amazing!
I’m from Louisiana and I told my husband she had a New Orleans accent. I knew it! ☺️ This was a phenomenal movie! 10/10 !!
That scene when Trudy was peeling that apple with that heavy New Orleans accent.... I knew she was not the one to be fucked with lol.
That scene was so f*cking intense!
Sitting on that horse on the tracks . A serious g move. Her fashion was fly. Time for me to try on some borsilinni hats and some royal blu.
Exactly I loveeeeed it
She did great with this Trudy character as with all her characters. Regina is one sista who’s been doing her thing since 227 and look how far she’s came. (black excellence) from in front of the screen to behind the screen to writing the screen she can’t and won’t be stopped 💚❤️💜 her Legacy will continue.
Boondocks too! She was Wiley!
@@j-us-t_be-in-g Riley & Huey 👍🏾💯
BigFacts!! She is on Another level… As she ages beautifully,, I’ve never heard no controversy around her She always Grinding and Shining!! Treacherous Trudy just reminded us the level of greatness Black Queen Regina King is On!! Flowers 🌹 Queen
@@j-us-t_be-in-g most definitely hats 👒 off to this sista frfr
@@harrypponder7396 I definitely co-signed with you on that 🙏🏽 blessings to you brutha!
She took vocal classes with Bird man & Master P & lil boosie!! Regina killed it as always One of the best Female actors in the Game Since 227!!
She on another level y’all 💪🏾🏆🔥🔥💯💯💯
Harry p. Regina has come s long way since 227. She dont have to worry about being typecast. Amazing on snl.
I thought Regina's character sounded Geechee to me - I loved it!
Definitely got SC and So. Ga vibes
I'm from SC and she didn't sound like no Geechee. She sounded like someone from the Caribbean islands
I thought the same. It sounded like deep Sc and Ga
I'm a SC Geechee and immediately thought LA.
we and N.O have some similarities
Queen Regina was phenomenal! I can't stop thinking about this film.❤
I thought N.O right away. I love their accent. I like the Baltimore accent too. I loved this movie. Watched it three times. I love the love stories in it. I loved the action, the cinematography and the music. The plot was awesome and I pray for a sequel.
I'm from New orleans she did it good
I usually HATE when actresses/actors that aren't from Louisiana TRY to do a "somewhere" in Louisiana accent bc they end up sounded terribly obvious that it's fake. BUT Regina did a very good job at blending as she stated in this video. She had me trying to search if Trudy is really from the boot!
Taraji does a good one too
I was searching too lol 😂! I’m from Louisiana. It don’t matter where I go people know where I’m from. I’m not from New Orleans but have a lot of family from there. I didn’t realize I had an accent until I went to Missouri. Some soldiers on the airport bus asked if we were affected by Katrina. I was like dang is my accent that strong?! Lol 😂
@@youknowwhatflav9916 no she doesn't
@Monique 05-2001 your opinion I'm from Louisiana born and raised deep south you can feel how you wanna feel but I know
@@MT-ey7sm Smh.
She did a fantastic job!! This movie is a 5/5
As my father used to say. Time to watch a good "shoot em up".
I loved the accented! It stayed consistent through out the whole performance! A couple times when she was in a higher octave the accent broke but overall it sounded organic! She did such an amazing job in the film! If you haven’t seen it, please do!
Regina King is so beautiful
Born in England to a Jamaican mother and a Trinidadian father, I've been living in Canada for around 40 years. People still ask where I'm I from because of my accent. Explaining is always a trip for some people.
Everybody's dialect is a mixture of places they've been. Like a map.
As soon she opened her mouth i thought to myself thats a Louisiana accent. And im from NY. I love the way they talk. Its different its not even southern its just different
Regina king did an excellent job in the harder they fall . She so gorgeous love her eyes ♥️
True Cowboys and Cowgirls !!! A lot us don't know that we are the original Cowboys and girls. White people were called Cowhands back then.
Cowboy and Cowgirl are derogatory terms for Black ranchers. The true term is vaquero, which means Cowman. White men had a bad habit of referring to Black men as boys, therefore they were reduced from cowmen to cowboys. Which proves there's really no such thing as a white Cowboy, that's all Hollywood.75% of cowboys were Black while the other 25% were Mexican. A cowhand is a person that tends to cattle.
I thought we were native American Israelites tho?
The Name Regina ...in translation is QUEEN. ...how appropriate..
I've always luved her work
Trudy's accent was one of my fav parts of the film. I always anticipated her speaking it was so different from her natural voice. Like damn ok Regina you really are a true character in this role. It was so good, I was like how the hell she'd get THAT accent💓💓....
All hail to the brother and sister that made this movie happen, I want to Thank You all and J thank you brother for the movie along with all of the people that made this happen.
NOLA born & raised Creole; spent summers in Cajun country with family so I have a mixed accent.
I love my roots.
Bingo. I don’t think most People understand there are differences in Louisiana accents. North Louisiana People sound like the states they border (Oklahoma/Texas/Arkansas ). It’s not until you get south that the accent starts taking on that flavor. Cajun and Creole accents are similar- but we can tell them distinctly. When you have family in Cajunland (like most of us), but you’re born and raised in New Orleans , your accent sort of blends. That also goes for the food in S.Louisiana. A Cajun gumbo/jambalaya/etc is different from a Creole version. Sorry for the ramble 😬
I have to give Regina her flowers for how she played TF outta her role in this movie!! 💐 this was a stellar performance !
She was no joke " let em see your faces" she is a great actress
Fans in Afrika love the movie, Regina King as Trudy really commanded the movie.

I left this movies trailer thread because of google and CZcams racism and i find it follows me where ever i go online. Jealous fools
Okay because I spent the entire movie trying to comprehend her accent! LA makes sense. I can hear it as the base. She cut off her words so abruptly I was like....what is that???!!! I'm Caribbean myself lol.
Love 💘 it! THANK YOU!! WE NEED THIS NOW! CONGRATULATIONS 🎉 👏 🎉
Baaaby she did that! That is the best non-native Louisiana accent ever. She had me Googling if she was from the boot or the character she played was.
My favorite line( that needs to be on a tee shirt) “ a rock and a hard place…we call that Monday!”
Well girl you did your thing in this movie!!!!! Love love love it!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

The French language is New Orleans. I’m so happy for her. She’s an amazing actress.

I am from New Orleans so I love that she said that. I hope to meet her one day.
I understood immediately, even though my father was raised in NY there were certain times ..when he was angry or frustrated with us it would come out..

She nailed it I instantly picked up the New Orleans in her voice. She sounds just like a native.
Regina King is a beautiful woman.
I knew right away Trudy was speaking with a Louisianan accent!!! 😂🔥🔥🔥

She was the best part of the movie for me.

This explains why she sounded like my Auntie Stella in this movie.
It’s all good Regina King is an amazing voice actress
Actress as well.

Yes!!!! I do it all the time. Was speaking with a British accent after returning from London. 💜
Regina successfully succeed with that goal!! I loved Trudy's accents and hints of it changing was throughout the movie---it was alluring!

This movie was AMAZING!!!
Trudy is definitely from St. Martin Parish, Louisiana!
No she's not, she was born and raised in San Francisco, CA. When she came of age she traveled a lot because she was a pickpocket by profession.
I love New Orleans accent too baby.
She definitely got that New Orleans Supa Cent 3D Natee dialect🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I loved this movie
All Hail Queen Regina!
I would love to see a Trudy backstory movie! My grandmother was from New Orleans so I definitely heard some of those dialect elements in Trudy.
Yeah I didn’t hear New Orleans at all in that accent but I loved this movie
I didn’t hear a New Orleans accent either, but she reminded me a lot of how my aunt from Baldwin, Louisiana sounds.
@@gigirice8441 ion know what it was but it wasn’t New Orleans lol… I love their accent, also you’re strikingly beautiful 😍🙏🏾
I could hear the attempt..... It because really blatant when she said "He pretty doe"
She aint say "yea" enough to seal the deal
@@b.lowery1888 should’ve called Mary “Baebe” a few times in the accent and that would’ve took the cake for me 😂😍
I comprehend. And congratulations, too!
I knew she was doing a Nola accent soon as I heard her speak 🥰
Come over so we can watch it again..I got popcorn

I couldnt tell if she was doin a island accent or western accent it sounded like both.
I love how folks from New Orleans speak!!

I love me Mrs Regina King!
She was pure evil in the movie gosh she gave me goosebumps
Lol well she wanted it and got because I really didn’t know where really nun of them were supposed to be from or where it was really taking place ❤️🙏🏽👏🏾
I know she don't reference it but she sounded African when she said "Open it!" Know plenty who say like that. Love her, Loved the Film, Loved Everyting!
That's because during the overview phase of characters the director mentions Trudy was from the Barbary Coast. Regina King assumed the Barbary Coast was in Africa. He then later told her it's actually in San Francisco. The Barbary Coast is an old title for what we know now as the Bay Area.
I'm from Texas. People have asked me where I'm from often.
Proud of you Ms King baby you proved not to be just a beautiful face you learned the business your movies got Action,Drama,on the edge of seats stuff Truly Gifted and Talented And the Spokes person for Cadillac What a Honor During the 60's and 70's That was the Choice of Cars for Black Pimps it became the car for Black People for so many sisters to be riding shotgun working the streets A Black Woman is the Spokesperson For Caddy What a Accomplishment

The saddest words I've ever heard are "My ex-husband" coming from Regina King. Tragic. As the Keke Palmer meme says "Sorry to this man."
My Boss🤣🤣🤣🤣
Born in the boot.. and I picked up immediately
I knew that was a Louisiana accent .. I knew it !!
When I heard the accent I instantly thought New Orleans!
