    I bought a $15 watch repair kit off amazon to repair our own watches. Using your videos I just changed my wife's battery and I look like a genius. Thanks!

    For most people this will not work on a seiko skx if it has never been opened before ,i put a deep scratch on my case back using one of those small blue case back openers, and it broke in my hands .I just bought one of those cheap ebay watch repair kits just for the 3 prong case back opener and still cant open it, the pin on the watch case holder started to bend.I found a forum where people were having the same problem one guy put the movement holder in a vise and still could not open it ,he then crazy glued a nut to the case back and used a ratchet and finally got it open.He put the case back in a small container of acetone to remove from the case back .Another guy on that forum used some type of spray can that would freeze the back of watch and he said he was able was able to open it.

      У меня такая же проблема с закисшей задней крышкой на Seiko samurai. Открыть её просто не реально. Я чуть не сломал нейлоновые часовые тиски, а крышка даже не сдвинулась и на дюйм. Действительно, остается только побрызгать из баллончика со сжиженным газом (походный пропановый баллон), чтобы заморозить заднюю крышку и попробовать открыть.

    You place your palm on top of the 3-prong opener and maintain downward force to prevent the prongs from camming out of the lugs and skating across the caseback, thereby marring the finish.

    @DougHinVA Před 2 lety

    a wrench tool is useful, but an older watch may need a tiny bit of penetrating oil around the circumference administered with just a toothpick tip. It is still something to be unscrewed and your wrist and time cause gummy buildup on a watch back...

    Hey everyone!
    How someone can answer my question. Once you take the back cover off, is there any danger of dust particles getting inside the movement and damaging it?
    Thanks alot!

    • @joshuajo9649
      @joshuajo9649 Před 2 lety

      Typically no. Most dust are harmless, it just looks and feels bothersome but it probably won't hurt the phone, especially if it's a quartz battery. Automatic may be affected but I highly doubt it

    I just spent 2 hours trying to get the snapback off a dress Longines. Guess what worked. First clean clean clean with rubbing alcohol and tootbrush, next lightly scrape out the guk so you can see where the lip is. Inspect inspect inspect with loupe to find lip. Mine was at 9pm. But it took lots of bright light and careful inspection multiple times to find the right spot. Next, no case knife was thin enough fromthe cheap chinese kits so i put it on a pipe cutting wheel tool

      Unfortunately the wear was due to corrosion since the watch case was not made of stainless steel. It was nickel plated brass I believe. A lot of vintage pieces were plated metals opposed to full stainless steel
