      @@LumeShot great video! 1) is there a video on your page about how to also put the hour+min+sec+dial hands all back on the watch safely? 2) if I have the sapphire blue glare-proof coating on the face of the watch but I have to remove the hands for cleaning or replacing it will that blue sapphire glare proof coating be effected by disassembling the watch at all at anytime??

    I highly recommend those who buy this tool to polish the tool feet to remove any burs that will scratch the dial. Mine was pretty burly. lol

    How were you able to stop the movement before removing the hands? The camera cuts and the second hand stops moving.

    @LumeShot i don't know if this was a hacking movement but you don't show the part where u stop the movment, i'm watching this becaus the SEIKO SKX HACKING + HAND WINDING MOD TUTORIAL - MOVEMENT UPGRADE video is missing that part too. There it was not a hacking movement, i can see the second moving and in the next shot u just remove the hands without adressing that part. You should show how to either stop it or tell us that u waited for the spring to run out. Other than that - great video. Thx and cheers from Germany.
    Upd: just found the comment below. Maybe you could edit the video and show a text or add it to the description. If one has to take a break for hours to wait for the spring to run out it's worthy of a short comment or mention.

    On my quartz watch the minute hand is slightly off, i.e. when the minute hand is pointed at "12" the hour hand is not exactly pointed at the hour. Can I simply nudge it to the correct position without removing the hands? Thanks for your advice on this.

      My question as well. I failed to adequately attach a minute hand. Thought it was on OK, was not. It flops around, while the seconds hand is still secure. What I'd like to avoid is removing the hour hand but avoiding that may not be worth the effort.

    question: How did you keep the hands from moving. did you wait for it to wind down or is there a stop button in the assy ?
    I understand if you try to remove or install hands while the watch is "working" you will strip the holes out of the hands.

    • @LumeShot
      @LumeShot  Před 5 lety +2

      You can either wait for the mainspring to wind down ( for non hacking movements ) but for movements with hacking seconds, you can stop the seconds hand by pulling out the crown prior to setting the hand.

    Can I just push the seconds hand a little bit to the right to align it?

    • @LumeShot
      @LumeShot  Před 6 lety +1

      You will still need a tool to do the job. Of course, you can use your hands but then the risk of damage would be immense. The job would be to remove the hands... which requires a tool and knowledge of how to use it.
