The story is pretty much what made the first Valkyrie Profile, it's such a dark tale and left me shocked multiple times, so the lack of story in this one kinda sucks, maybe it will get better tho.
yeah i'm hoping its just a cold opening and the story shows up a chapter or 2 late to the party
Exactly, this needs to nail the story, the action was okay, but definitely not up to par for $60.
@@Kraftium Thing is, if you didn't select to watch the optional intro in VP1, the story of VP1 also kinda starts off rather thin.
Fingers crossed the final game is decent, but I figure most fans of the series are gonna be butt-mad no matter what, since it's a drastic change from the original entries and it's being made by a different team.
yeah thats probably very likely, although considering they've had like what ... 3 games? in 25ish years I can't say I really blame them
@@Kraftium Yeah, kind of like how Breath of Fire fans were not happy with Dragon Quarter, it was a huge shift compared to the original 4, so fans were up in arms.
I'm that Fan that owns the original games and love the Demo too. The Fans expect too much. If they think they can make it better then they should make a better version . Personally I loved the Demo and excited to transfer my progress over to the main game. 2 more Days Digital Deluxe Edition
By Odin, so much of what you're saying describes the original. Valkyrie Profile didn't feel to me like a complete game when it first came out. Maybe we just didn't "get it", but it just felt like it was trying to tell a story more than they were trying to make a game, and it didn't totally succeed at either. I don't know how old you were when it came out, but in the early days of the PlayStation, pretty much every JRPG was phenomenal and memorable (anyone else remember Beyond the Beyond?), but Valkyrie Profile really didn't feel like it belonged with any of them. It looked pretty and had good music, but just didn't deliver a good game. We'll see how this turns out, but I'm a little skeptical of greatness, and pretty sure it's not going to get my $60.
This was cool. The shorter, opinion-based first impressions videos are good, as they showcase your natural thoughts more than a scripted piece does. I don't know how you do it, but you can explain mechanics in a way that doesn't make my eyes glaze over in boredom. That's a talent!!!

I know whenever I play a spirital successor to VP like indivisible or exist archieve I've found my falling off fairly quick (enjoyed them but they got a bit repetative)
I don't know how I do it either homie haha, I literally jotted down some notes and hit record on this one haha
@@Kraftium That really works. I know a lot of CZcamsrs that script their reviews that normally just go off the cuff for everything else, and they sound like robots. An outline and some notes should be all you need. If we wanted details, we can look them up. We come to your channel for your thoughts and opinions.

Yeah pretty much is, not helped by the fact one of the "boss" rival characters from the promotional material/trailers: Hilde the Dark Armored Valkyrie Dragoon, will have her own DLC in 2 months (as a free update) where you get to play as her and experience her story. And if you know your Character Action games right, you kinda know it's almost similar to what rivals like Jeanne, Jetstream Sam and of course Vergil, having you get to play as the rival characters whether through main game or just through DLC.

If I remember correctly, the other Valkyrie Profile games have a fair share of story. So... I feel like I might not be looking forward that much to this one. If the demo is any indication.
I feel like it might just be a cold opening until it starts dropping story on you cos I mean ... it would be really weird if the story was as sparce as it is
