The transition from dashizwiz combo to ppmd's is one of the best story telling edits I've ever seen. Everytime I see it I get goosebumps. He really did outperform his heros.
I think The Smash Brothers tells a better story. It feels more complete, and the timeline of events feels more sharply constructed. But for *ME* Metagame is way more sick. But I think that's because Metagame feels more like it was targeted to people who are already fans, rather than showcasing a scene people might not know about if that makes sense. I can point to countless examples where the story feels more profound in The Smash Brothers, but for every one of those, I can point to a counter-example of just how white knuckle and intense a set was presented in Metagame. The game itself feels more mythical in Metagame while the whole community felt more well-represented in The Smash Brothers.
Ngl metagame aged terribly. Besides a small handful of moments I would never rewatch it again especially after the BS with leffen. But even without that, it just wasn’t compelling and cohesive. First doc way better imo, everyone has seen it like 5 times now
The problem about this doc is that it’s labeled as a five gods doc when it’s really just an Armada and PPMD fox. Leffen and Mango were kind of featured, but M2K and Hbox had NOTHING.
No they weren't. It was about how part of this doc was a hit piece on Leffen. People were excited when Leffen hit the scene and the doc DID NOT portray that, and its a big deal in Melee's history. Then it was changed, and the doc is really good now. I enjoyed it a lot with all of my friends the second time around.
@@stephensterling1874 dude as someone who has been playing since 06, sure people were hype to see a good player, but we were also all aware of leffen's history in the scene and knew how egotistical he was. that wasn't a hit piece, it was accurate af.

Such a great scene from the documentary. Thanks for uploading
Ppmd my favorite player of all time bar none. Nastiest fucking neutral game and floaty combos

I love this ❤
This soundtrack is AMAZING!!!!!!! UGHHH
Beautiful
this is so hype. metagame was so good and very overhated
it was fine. but a three minute clip doesn’t talk for the rest of the doc
@@DYLisDEAD they’re taking about the whole doc, not just the clip.
@@DYLisDEAD they did say that this clip was hype, but they are complimenting the overall doc.

@@jpetrullo6890 how can a documentary age poorly?
Pound 5 Armada lookin like he just left a My Chemical Romance concert back in the day lol
Sooo hypeeee
Melees sick
Melee community was way overly critical about this doc
one three minute clip from a multiple part documentary that had hours of length does not prove the entirety of the documentary
@@DYLisDEAD frank said nothing about the clip

What’s the music used in this scene?
Breaking The Limiter by Garrett Williamson. Right now, soundcloud's the only place to listen to it.

What is the crowd chanting? "Pack it up"?

That’s what the crowd used to chant for PP, like how they do USA for Mango
