Our quigmires in SA are much fuelled by the appointment of people who don't hold great interest for the nation at large but instead for their own families.
We have numerous wise leaders as the guest speaker, but because cadre deployment is the ruling system we thus suffer from it

China also has mass blackouts all over China. Many homes in China don't have electricity and this is true in the rural areas of China. China wants to sell SA solar equipment that they produced in China. The Brazilian said all solar panels have to be made in Brazil and SA should do the same.

Russia and Wagner group have already bought SA. Look at DENEL and how they managed over 3 billion turnover right after the Lady R visits simonstown ! All the union unrest, the hits on key people all point to the Wagner group who have caused nearly every African country to be captured by Russia.

Way too late to start talking about about being a real player now. Sure we can get a foreign business to come put up a factory or two, generate some jobs, and theoretically lower the local prices of these high tech goods. And that would be great compared to what's going on currently. But, if we want to be a real player, then we need the IP and mountains of capital. Look at the US. The US! As we speak they are spending the better part of a Trillion Dollars to be a real player. And even that's not a sure thing. They just recently celebrated that local panels are now cheaper than imported panels. It wasn't a sure thing when they made that bet. All because, much like here, and many other countries... When the clear and present opportunity was there in front of every country in the world 10-20 years ago to be on the starting line, politicians had other priorities. Mostly clueless of course. Now catching up in the race needs a helicopter approach. But at the difficulty rating you basically have to reinvent the helicopter from where the Wright brothers were.
