  • Malaysian street food Ramly Burger
Today we are going to try the famous Ramly burger which is Malaysia's favorite street food. I am American and this is my first time trying Ramly burger. I try this Malaysian street food Ramly Burger in Kuala Lumpur. Ramly burger was highly recommend Malaysian Street food by all my Malaysian friends. When you come to Malaysia you must try out ramly burger. This is Malaysia's Hamburger.
    What is a Ramly burger?
Today, every patty supplied by Ramly Group in Malaysia comes from the same processing plant on the outskirts of the capital - so far, so standard. However, the burger ingenious twist comes in the cooking. Just before the patties are taken off the hotplate, an egg is cracked onto the surface and the burger is wrapped inside it. This helps to contain burger juice, toppings and any other sauces from escaping, adding to the flavour.
Just as important as the egg are the condiments which adorn the patty. These may vary depending on the particular vendor (and the customer, of course), but standard options include a sizable dollop of margarine, a squeeze of ketchup, a dousing of Lea and Perrins and a sprinkle of Maggi seasoning. These unique combinations of flavours, alongside cheese, tomato and lettuce, contribute to a Ramly Burger taste that’s truly unlike any other hamburger you’re likely to try in your life.
    Malaysia
Malaysia is a Southeast Asian country occupying parts of the Malay Peninsula and the island of Borneo. It's known for its beaches, rainforests and mix of Malay, Chinese, Indian and European cultural influences. The capital, Kuala Lumpur, is home to colonial buildings, busy shopping districts such as Bukit Bintang and skyscrapers such as the iconic, 451m-tall Petronas Twin Towers.
    Kula Lumpur
Kuala Lumpur is the capital of Malaysia. Its modern skyline is dominated by the 451m-tall Petronas Twin Towers, a pair of glass-and-steel-clad skyscrapers with Islamic motifs. The towers also offer a public skybridge and observation deck. The city is also home to British colonial-era landmarks such as the Kuala Lumpur Railway Station and the Sultan Abdul Samad Building

When you eat Ramly burger, hold it horizontally to your mouth. That will reduce overspill. Never bite it tilted. It'll mess up your table, your plate and possibly your shirt... but hey, that will be your souvenir to take home.. haha.

Wow... it seems that the Ramly brand is not only popular with local people, it is also the top choice of foreign tourists 🥳😱 👍🏻
*For those who don't know yet* :
Ramly Food Processing Sdn Bhd (formerly known as Perusahaan Burger Ramly Mokni Sdn Bhd) is a Malaysian frozen and fast food company.
The company was founded by Dato’ Dr. Haji Ramly Mokni and Datin Hajjah Shala Siah Abdul Manap in 1984, with the aim of developing a clean and good-quality halal Western fast-food chain in Malaysia.
Ramly started a business selling burgers with his wife from street food stalls in 1979. While working as a butcher in a market, he discovered that it is unknown whether most fresh-meat sources were halal or not, leading to Ramly's decision to produce a halal-certified meat source, hygienic and quality products for all Muslim and non Muslim consumers in Malaysia. 👍🏻
They also have a chain of fast food restaurants but not as many as McDonalds restaurants.

I am Malaysian. Used to live in US for 12 years. I still like American burgers more than Malaysian burgers. For me Malaysian burgers are too sloppy and messy, too saucy (they use too many types of segala mak nenek sauces which I don't like at all and which really numb my taste buds) and too sweet (from the sauces). Plus my taste buds could not accept a combination of eggs and burgers which is typical of Malaysian burgers.
I like a drier THICK burger with just enough sauce (a mixture of mayonnaise, mustard and ketchup) that is not too sweet but with a lot of vegetables including thick slices of onions, tomatoes, sliced pickled cucumber & lot of lettuce which is typical of American burger. Malaysian burgers are outside my taste range, I don't crave it at all, and too much sauces of too many kinds kill the beefy flavor of beef patty..

But i have to say the patties quality has gotten worse. Its full of soft bones, muscles and hard fat.You literally have to spit it out while chewing your burger.
