    The Venus Project is an IRL thing, it's a society imagined by Jacques Fresco. You can find one of his book in the police precinct. It's about using technology and most recent knowledge to create cities that would be fully sustainable in term of food, water and energy. They have a website where they explain all that. I was very surprised when I saw references to this guy in the game. In some way it's logical with the RoN lore. Los Sueños is crumbling under many problems and it kinda feels like it's the end of the old world there as capitalism is showing its contradictions, so it wouldn't be surprising that people would start to find interest into something like the Venus Project.

      Corpratocracy is the end stage of capitalism. Conglomerates of conglomerates, lobbying for government contracts and Stalinist economic policies solely intended to prevent the natural formation of competition from the bottom, eventually graduating to political activity, pushing for mass indoctrination and weaponization of exploitable elements, and mass surveillance, censorship, social isolation, and incarceration of non-exploitable elements.
      Apply the Military-Industrial Complex to everything, and you get what we have today. It's not even a conspiracy, and that's what's scary...

    Something I think should be of note. In ridgeline there's a bunch of papers referencing "USIA LSD based experiments conducted in the 70s" and judging by the fact that this safe injection clinic seems to be despised (Given the amount of graffiti depicting the main proprietor as hitler) And the fact that the old desk has "Chief saigon operations" I would think this may possibly have been an old site for those tests.

    • @soultaker2254
      @soultaker2254 Před rokem

      I would also like to add my theory on said experiments. My theory so far is I think that the term "MLO" was initially a code name for one of these LSD based experiments. Similar to the codename MK Ultra. And I think that the "Mariposa Lily Organization" is either a group of some of these ex-MLO experiment test subjects looking to get revenge on the USIA or that they're a group of sleeper agents reactivated by some rogue corrupt project lead.
      Whichever is the case I think that they take on the initials of MLO as some sort of act of "poetic irony" for whatever agenda they have.

      @@wilmerreinholdsson1181 Well sort of, I think in the 70s the USIA conducted these experiments using safe injection clinics or other facilities such as this one. Once the results of the experiment proved ineffective or info about the sites got exposed. They shut them down and tried to cover it up and do damage control.
      "MLO" on the other hand seems to conduct some sort of LSD based experiments of their own in present day however, so whether the MLO are conducting said experiments on their own volition or are a splinter group created by the USIA to do these experiments on their behalf without explicitly being directly tied to the USIA is yet to be seen.

    Not sure if you or anyone else will see this, but on "saigon operations" I'd say Occam's Razor; "Saigon" is a place, just not the actually Saigon. It may be a hint at a yet unseen location referred to as Saigon- my guess would be a "Little Saigon," a borough or portion of the city with a dense population of Vietnamese (just like how some places with many people of chinese decent or cultural background are called "little china" or "china town"). The reason it'd be called "Saigon" is down to the fact that a lot of immigration to the US from Vietnam happened at the end of the Vietnam War, as many people from the Republic of Vietnam (South Vietnam) fled to the US. Many of these people still fly the Republic of Vietnam flag and call Saigon by it's old name still.

      Actually, if you know about a real major pedophile ring operation that was exposed, it's far more realistic that the parents sold their children and then the higher ups or authorities (if the ring is tied to their organization) covered it up. The Finders were a rogue element of the CIA that were using children they acquired through illicit means to blackmail Soviet politicians, however, to keep their funding up they also provided/distributed organs and pornographic material. The entire case was on blast for a single week in the news until the CIA implemented the narrative that Christians and Catholics are just overreacting to thing like "heavy metal" and claiming everything is Satanism. So, the Satanic Panic took over the news instead of a major child trafficking ring ran in part by and authorized by the CIA, who in collaboration with the FBI collected and destroyed/lost all of the evidence in a freak "mailing error" to the Tallahassee Police. The Metro Police in Washington D.C. were also trying to resolve this case, it was not until they called the FBI for help that things immediately went sour as the CIA and FBI did all they could to impede, stop and sabotage the investigation. Any and all police officers or detectives who continued to pursue answers all happened to have committed suicide because "what they saw was too much for them to handle".

      At this point, I don't think it's that the PD ignores is- it's that they simply can't answer. The city is practically a warzone and they can barely afford to maintain their own headquarters. I don't many patrol officers are even around anymore, they don't have enough personnel to respond to individual calls. The only thing they can afford to do at this point is respond to the worst of the worst with what few highly trained and highly experienced SWAT Officers they've managed to keep around- that's you, responding to the most terrible of the calls, performing the most difficult of raids, meanwhile everything else has to be left behind. In a way, that's even more dark/sad, the city has fallen so far, and the PD has lost so much power that they barely have the capability to aid people anymore. That's probably why the PD is hated, so many people need help but the PD literally cannot afford to help them all. After all, in real life, in a city with a relatively healthy PD, a call for a missing child would almost never go unanswered- especially if there's more than one and it's a consistent issue. Yet in Los Suenos, most calls go unanswered.

    I don't really understand why this place is as run-down and deliberately creepy as it is. I get that it's a really rough location, but if people were actually using the building consistently for something, you think they would try to clean up a little bit. It would be a lot easier to convince parents to uh, sign their kids up if the place didn't look like a dump.

    I’m pretty sure the Venus project is an actual project that was practically believed that we can create a new world where no one has to pay for food and drinks or houses, p much everything is free and you take what you need and we live in peace and harmony, my mother researched it a bit. I could be wrong though.

    About the calenders: I don't know how accurate they are because at the car dealership for example the calenders show the year 1971 (maybe a connection to the Vietnam war because it was from 55-75?) It might be possible that the calenders are just placeholder assets. Bolton is connected to everything in the city
